Ohhh my goodness... O__o They're SO adorable! Would I still have time to enter, or am I slipping in too late? From what you've already said it seems like I would have time if I hussle, but I just want to double-check ^^

Okay! ^^ I'm glad I've still got time! Here's my entry!
Name: Garnet
Gender: (given)
Parents: Kit and Jade
Siblings: Added after the contest
Personality: Garnet is the "absent-minded professor" type - very intelligent but often forgetful. As a result, dogs who talk to him at first tend to think he's rather dull. However, all they have to do is bring up a subject he likes, and he'll latch onto it and begin talking incessantly. That's not to say that he's quiet the rest of the time - he's just careful about stating his opinions. He is, in fact, afraid of being ridiculed...a trait that his parents had been worried about, until they heard him in conversation with another young dog who was putting his opinions down. From listening in, they found that even despite his fear of standing out or being made fun of, Garnet was ready to defend himself - verbally, that is.
Physically, Garnet is a nearly flawless dog and perfect for pulling a sled; he's a combination of Jade's muscle and Kit's lithe quickness. However, despite Jade's gentle urges to try for a sled team, Garnet refuses, for the moment. "I'd probably forget to bring my harness or something," he jokes with his dad (Garnet is very aware of his absent-mindedness). In reality, he'd like a job that requires using his vast amount of knowledge on pretty much everything, but he's decided to wait to tell his parents that. So overall, he is an intelligent, forgetful dog who likes to take his time with decisions but not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.
Likes: (besides his family members, that's pretty obvious) Summer (the season), Winter (the dog, if that's alright with you ZuCat), teaching, listening, storytelling, running, swimming, the ocean
Dislikes: (Note: It's true that many people or dogs wouldn't like these things in a general sense, but these are things that especially bother Garnet) "Girls!" (for now ;D), being forced to make decisions, forgetting things, not being respected, Sadie (again, with ZuCat's permission)
History: Garnet was born a "middle child"; in other words, that is part of the reason that he was always quiet and contemplative as a pup. From puppyhood he was always forgetting things, from bones he'd buried to dates and times he was supposed to remember. His parents always tended to view him as the quiet, precocious type, but his reputation for silence was dispelled one day when one of his siblings brought up the topic of a favorite story that they'd recently been told. Instantly Garnet launched into a sermon on the subject, leaving his siblings wishing that they'd never brought it up. It relieved his parents, however, to know that he wasn't so shy and silent.
As he grew and matured, he began to fill out into a handsome but still-slightly-gangly young dog. Needless to say, the female dogs of Nome began to follow him around, asking him countless flirty questions and getting either short answers or no answers at all. Around girls, Garnet became known as "The Clam" because he clammed up and wouldn't speak to them. He's gotten much better at it in recent times, but he sees no need to talk to them because "all they want me for is my looks." That bothers him very much; he'd much prefer to be admired for his brains than for his brawn.
How he/she feels about their parents: Garnet loves his parents very much, but sometimes thinks that their ways are "old-fashioned" compared to what he sees and hears. As a result he brushes them off sometimes, only to find that most of the time, they were right about whatever he disagreed with them on, which is why he's finding a new-found respect for them in recent times. They have been very patient with him, especially Jade who'd been through the maturing process already with Clover. Kit, naturally being the nurturing type, works very well with Garnet and the two of them are very close - perhaps Garnet's even closer to her than to Jade. Jade is the one that taught Garnet to respect his elders and all females, no matter their manners or appearance. Thanks to them, Garnet has grown into a respectable dog, and although he still has some maturing to do, he's well on his way to being a model citizen.
How he/she feels about Clover: Garnet holds a deep fondness for Clover and treats her as if she were more of a younger sister than an older one. He feels very protective of her because he's afraid that with her sweetness, someone's going to take advantage of her. However, this fear has yet to be proven, and most of the time Garnet just relaxes with and spends time with her. She's very intelligent as well and enjoys discussing things with her. She's probably the sibling he can relate to the best.
Other: Garnet respects Sadie's mate, Winter, very much. Jade would like Winter to teach Garnet how to be a sled dog, but Winter is respecting Garnet's wishes and has held off on the lessons thus far. However, Garnet isn't so fond of Sadie, seeing her as somewhat like the girls who chase after him. She's really much sweeter than that, which Winter is trying to prove to Garnet.

Name: Malachite (goes by Mal or Lala) Gender: Male Parents: Jade and Kit Siblings: Clover, Jet, Opal, Jasper, Saphrina, Garnet and Pearl Personality: He is very friendly and optimistic about everything his friends and family do. He's usually quite innocent and happy-go-lucky but he's also very empathetic and when someone close to him is upset it depressed him. He's a bit silly and loves to play around with his family. His naivete also means he can easily see when two people like each other and he enjoys bugging them about it and playing matchmaker. *NEW* After the death of Pip, his personality changes quite a bit and he becomes darker and craziness rather than the child-friendly comic relief type from before. He develops and frightening dark sense of humour, enjoys tales of blood and death and likes to add to others misery. He still has his crazy, hyper moments but they are tainted by a dark side that shows he is obviously not quite there mentally. His loss of Pip affects him so greatly it turns to madness.Likes: Playing, running, being with his family, being given food, being a 'hero', Fly *NEW* Later; blood, horror stories, scaring others, 'playing' with puppies (only to frighten them), making others miserable in a bid to show them his painDislikes: Having to sit still, being patient, not talking, not having anyone to talk to, training, being hooked up to a sled or toher dogs *NEW* Later; being reminded of Pip, anyone talking about the 'old Malachite', people who are happy around him and don't care (this also counts for dogs who don't know him/what he's had to lose)History: When he was a pup, he was very excitable and friendly and was curious about every sight, smell and sound. Because of this, he'd often be found in the oddest of places and generally caused a mess wherever he went. He got very excited when meeting new people and loved to hug and kiss everyong new who spoke to him. He was very playful and loud on the day the pups were adopted and he was picked up by a man who wanted to train him into a sled dog. However, Malachite thought the man was only playing around with him and never took his training seriously. He got frightened when he was hooked up to a sled, as he didn't like the thought of being restrained. He ran around and caused nothing but trouble for the other dogs. After about a year of trying to train him, Malachite's owner tried to sell him and it was quite a while before anyone decided to attempt taming the dog. The second man to adopt him was also unable to train him and kicked him out. After that, Malachite happily became a street dog, playing in the alleys and pretending to be a hero. Everyone saw him as being a bit annoying, besides his parents, who only just tolerated his play. When it comes to his love life, he's quite promiscuous. While he understands about love, he finds it hard to identify between friendly love and true love. He may also become friends with Fly (my character) who is in Titanium's gang. He will look up to Fly greatly, seeing him as the male equivalent of Clover; an older sibling. He probably won't join Titanium's gang tho, just live on his own and go to see Fly sometimes. *NEW* Along with Fly, he also befriends his adopted son, Cobain, and Cobain's friend, Tino. They become, in some ways, their own version of the three muskateers, tho Malachite isn't as close to them as they are of each other. Feeling lonesome and not enjoying life as the third wheel, he goes off in search of friendship and meets Pip, Fly's daughter (who is 2 years younger than him). He falls in love with her and in some ways is actually rather happy that she's miserable like him (because she is taken away from her siblings). Malachite comforts her and they become close friends. Mal takes her to meet Tino and Cobain, who enjoy her company. Pip is then there to comfort Malachite and Cobain when they get upset at Tino leaving. She spends one night with Mal which ends up with her getting pregnant. However, she had to leave with her family on a camping trip and said her goodbyes until she came back. She never comes home and neither do her family. News spreads about her being murdered which sends Malachite into a crazed frenzy where he destroys a lot of crates/rubbish cans/fences in alleys throughout the night before he finally sinks into depression. He never goes back to being the friendly, carefree and naive dog he once was, instead becoming a bit more quiet and withdrawn. However, he still has his moments of craziness, but has also developed a sick and twisted sense of humour and seems to be thrilled by blood and fear. The old, annoying Malachite has been replaced by a dog who scares most everyone in a 'crazy clown' type way.How he/she feels about their parents: He visits his mother and father often and loves to stay with them. He's at his calmest when he's with them and loves to sleep when he's around his mother. He's a big mother's boy and sees his mother as a saint. Even when he's grown up, he still tries hard to get her praise on even the smallest of things and gets extremely happy when he receives it. He looks up to his father as a role model and wants to be a sled dog too but as soon as he thinks of the training, he is put off it. Instead, he just races his father a lot for the fun of it and believes him to be the greatest dog ever. *NEW* Later; his view of his parents doesn't actually change much after he loses Pip. He no longer wishes to make them proud and he doesn't envy his father for being a good sled dog. He still races Jade and likes to snuggle up to his mother a lot for comfort. However, losing Pip means he also feels closer to his father in some way as he knows how Aiyanna died and compares it to his loss of Pip quite often. He talks to Jade a lot about it, not understanding that losing Aiyanna still affects him.How he/she feels about Clover: He looks up to Clover greatly and acts like quite a baby around her. He loves to play with her and listens to most everything she says as if it was law. He knows that he has a different mother to her but never thinks of her as any less than his closest sibling. *NEW* Regarding Blossom and Valencia; He likes to fight for attention from Clover with them. As pups, he is very fond of playing with them and treats them as his own siblings, play-fighting with them, teasing them and arguing that no one else can make fun of them. However, he is jealous that they get more attention from Clover than he does and in some ways, this may be a contributing factor to his very loud, hyper personality as he often tries to get attention. It isn't helped by the fact he comes from a large litter so he already has to fight for attention from his parents. Despite feeling a bit lost with so many pups to be around, he loves his family a lot. Later; He still looks up to Clover and acts like a baby around her. His view of her doesn't much change but he becomes more prone to snapping at her about her relations with Jason. He finds it hard to believe she could be so unhappy about it when she has two beautiful daughters from it and would even tell her off because he lost both his mate and pups. Later regarding Blossom and Valencia; he still is protective over them in some ways and treats them like siblings. However, he now has conflicting thoughts on them. In Blossom's case, he can see she doesn't feel remorse for her mother and they way she came into existance and finds it disgusting at how unempathetic she is towards the emotional torment her mother endured. In Valencia's case, he is greatly annoyed at the way she acts out because she feels like it is her fault for what happened to her mother. He sees her as an attention-seeker, but obviously this is hypocritical as he has been once since he was a pup.Other: Because his mother is rather small and slender and his father is somewhat largely built it caused him to be quite skinny and lanky in appearance. He has scruffy cheeks, bangs and mane. *NEW* He'll be included in Fly's fanfic and get one of his own. It'll start from when he was a pup living with his mother and span all through his life, including his early life with his owner, how he came to live on the streets, meetings with certain characters (Fly, Tino, Cobain, Pip etc), his relationship with his family (including Clover's daughters) and what happened to him when he lost Pip, going vaguely beyond that. He may or may not end up with someone else/have someone else cure him of his mental state. http://i38.tinypic.com/1jxcn6.jpg http://i38.tinypic.com/2912asy.jpg http://i35.tinypic.com/33cc3tu.jpg
