Maya froze, her eyes widening. Whatever her father said would most likely include the rest of them somehow.
He turned thoughtful, and murmured something low to the polie officer, too low for the children to catch.

Harmon raced outside, jumped out the door and pressed himself against the police car's window where Seth was. "Seth!" he called from outside, tears streaming down his face. Being only ten years old, he didn't care what the consequences were for breezing past those cops. One officer yelled, "Hey!" and tried to pry him from the window, but Harmon screamed at the cop, watery eyes blazing, holding fast to the window.

Fletcher walked casually outside, taking one glance at all the police cars and officers, and then strutting down the gravel sidewalk to Seth's cop car. His straight, black hair covered his right eye, as his left eye seemed to be fixed on Harmon. Fletcher sighed and pulled Harmon from the window, shoving him away and holding him by the shoulders. He gave Seth a dirty glare before holding harmon in front of him as we walked away. He brought this on himself! thought Fletcher. His troublemaking is soon going to cost the family everything! What's wrong with him?! Still, he didn't hate his brother. In Fletcher's eyes, Seth was a troublemaking, irresponsible delinquent. Fletcher believed that it was Seth's own fault that he was going to be arrested.
Harmon couldn't turn around with Fletcher's strong grip on his shoulders, but he could still wipe away the waterfall of tears flowing from his faucets of eyes. He squeezed his blue eyes shut tight, since he didn't need to see anyway because Fletcher was guiding him back into the house. His sleeves were soaked with tears, and his cheeks shining from being washed with the salty substance as well.

Bridget watched from near the road. She gazed at the caps, her eyes wide. Living here was worse then living in prison! The food didn't matter, but at least they didn't beat you!

Seth, seeing his younger brother being pulled away by Fletcher, backed away from the window. But not without first giving Fletcher a cold, hard, mean look. One that would give almost anyone chills down their spine. It was something he had learned, and had practiced very well. Now that he knew Fletcher still wasn't pleased now that he was going to jail, he decided to break out. He pulled out a stray paper clip from his pocket and picked the lock from the other side of the car. It opened and he burst out of the vehicle. The cop waiting in the front seat of the car quickly gave chase. Seth ran as fast as his legs could carry him, but soon, after talking to his father, the other policeman began to give chase as well. He was almost home free when they blocked both ways out. His vision was focused on the cop in front of him. But then, suddenly, he felt the feeling of a lightning strike jolt through his body. He fell to the ground, smoke coming from all over his body. He fell down hard, bruising and scraping the entire front of him. The police man behind him stood grinning, holding out a taser gun.

Maya felt warm liquid run down her face, and pressed a hand to her cheek, finding tears there. When did I start crying? she wondered, the thought flashing in her mind for a brief second before it turned back to worry for her brother. "Seth!" she cried out, seeing his bruised and slightly bloodied chest, and his faintly smoking skin.

Out of surprise, Fletcher quickly spun around, subconciously letting go of Harmon.
"Seth!" Harmon cried, the tears coming more readily. He ripped out of Fletcher's grasp and jumped in between his brother and the cop who tazed him, arms outstretched and eyes wide with rage, yelling, "You get away from my brother!" His legs were shaking and fingers slightly twitching; the way he got when someone hurt a member of his family.

"Seth!!!" Bridget called, not realizing the tears streaming down her face. She ran over to her brother. She glared coldly up at the cop weith the tazer gun.

The cop in the front of both Bridget and Harmon looked at the two with almost evil eyes. He then laughed. But as he did, at the same time, the other one went behind the two and grabbed Seth's burnt, beat up body. He began to carry him to the car.

"No!" Maya screamed, tears still pouring from her cheeks. She thought of when her brother had run away long ago, and cried harder at the memory of the sorrow and pain. She couldn't bear to go through that again. She began to run towards him, only to be stopped by an arm. Her father. Suddenly, her panicked mind was filled with anger, and she kicked his shin, hard. She didn't even have time to be surprised before she was roughly pushed back. She fell onto the hard ground, and immediatly knew a new bruise was going to form. Breathless and momentarily stunned, she laid there for a moment, then struggled to get up, her cries turning to sobs.

The cop threw Seth's practically lifeless body into the car and motioned for the other to follow. The other cop walked over and winked at the father. "Pleasure talking to you," he said, then went into the shotgun of the car. The car soon drove off. Little did anyone but the siblings' father know though, that they were taking Seth somewhere different than prison....

The cop car kept driving. Soon they arrived at their destination. The cop at shotgun got out of the car and grabbed Seth. He took him inside the building. When Seth's eyes finally opened, all he could see was what looked like a lab. He was now strapped to an examination table, hooked to various IVs. He soon was fully consious. But even as he struggled to get away, he was too sore to move very much. He decided his only option was to stay still.
