"Well," said Ilac, "That complicates things. Cause really, the only way to make a stylish entrance--that could guarantee a win or loss--is when you come out of your Pokeball. Here's a demonstration." He whistled. After a minute, a small white cloud flew up. "Caster, can you give Eevee a good old Contest-style entrance?"
"Sure!" chirped Caster. (ooc: Pokemon language, of course.)
Ilac rooted through the case and pulled out a Pokeball. "Okay, then. Return." A red light shot out and engulfed the Castform. Caster dissapeared into the ball. After a few seconds, the Pokeball jiggled once. "Okay. Caster, let's go!" Ilac yelled, putting the ball on his palm and pressing the button to open the ball.
A huge tornado of ice flew out of the Pokeball. In one section of the tornado, the ice colored, showing a large ribbon. The ribbon shrank as a dark form flew up through the center of the tornado, spinning violently. The Ribbon floated to the form's chest. Then, all of a sudden, the ice flowed into the Pokeball, which snapped shut, leaving Caster with a ribbon on its chest. "Castform!" it yelled.

"Oh, I see." said Eevee. "I've just not been in a Pokeball all that much, I'm not used to it."

"Well, I realized that actually, the only ways for you to see a contest are either to participate or watch, and both involve being in a Pokeball," said Ilac. "So, I have a few spares. For the duration, I could keep you in a Pokeball, then let you out. You could see out and watch the contest, or you could participate and see what it's like firsthand."

OOC: It's your call, Godzillawolf. I'm okay either way.

Eevee thought about it. "Um...well I guess I'd like to watch first, then give it a try myself, kay?"

"Okay. So, you're willing to go into a Pokeball?" asked Ilac, pulling one out of the case. He looked at it, then switched it for a different one. "A Luxury Ball would be perfect for a small trip like this." He looked down at Eevee. "I'd really rather not waste a rare ball like this, so if you want to back out, this is your last chance."

OOC: Ilac may be stalling, but only because this is an area of ethics unfamiliar to him. He's just trying to justify an expensive Luxury Ball.

Eevee whined but then stood up bravely. "I'll go, I want to do this!"

"Okay then," Ilac said, hurling the Luxury Ball. "Luxury Ball, go!"

Eevee cringed, expecting to get hit by the ball, not dragged into it.

The ball flew with expert accuracy, and Eevee was immediately sucked into the Luxury Ball. Ilac picked it up off the ground. Now slightly transparent so that he could view the Pokemon, he saw Eevee's startled expression. "Are you all right, Eevee?" Ilac asked gently. "I apologize if I didn't tell you this would happen." He added calmly, "I chose the Luxury Ball because it is, well, luxurious, and the Pokemon inside always enjoys it."

Eevee looked around. "I thought it'd be crampped in here, it's suprisingly big." she said. "How is that possible?"

"That's a question I'll never know," chuckled Ilac, "'cause I'm not a Pokemon." He gestured to Caster. "Back in your ball." Once Caster was safely in his Pokeball, Ilac climbed back on Pidge. "Okay. Fortree City." Pidge nodded and took off.
Spiraling higher and higher, Ilac watched carefully as his ranch dissapeared. After a minute, an island appeared. Then another. Then they passed over a huge volcano. "That's Sootopolis City, Pidge! Brake...now!" Pidge slowed down, and in a moment more he landed in a city made of treehouses. "Good job, Pidge. Return." Pidge dissapeared into a Pokeball of his own. "Well, Eevee, we'll have to go through a couple of routes, but we're in the city next-door to Lilycove and the Contest Hall."

Eevee nodded. "Ok...how do I fit in this pokeball? It's strange."

"Well, as far as I know, basically you are turned into...well, I don't know what...and you shrink until you fit. And different types of balls have different types of interiors. The Luxury Ball is basically luxurious. The Dive Ball has an underwater interior, making it more appealing to water Pokemon, especially those who live underwater. Different Pokeballs have different things like that," Ilac said. They were now on the other side of Fortree City. "Now, what moves do you know?"

"Tackle, Double Team, Shadow Ball, and Iron Tail." said Eevee. "Shadow Ball is about the flashest move I know, but I'm doing my best."

"Okay," said Ilac. "I just wanted to know how much to depend on you." As if to prove his point, a Linoone jumped out at them, hissing. Quickly, he flipped out his Pokedex, accessing a page. "Seen it, but not tamed one..." he muttered. He knelt down. "Hi, there," he muttered. "I'm Ilac. I'm a Rancher. Do you know what a Pokemon Ranch is, Linoone?"

"Intruder!" hissed the Linoone. "Die, die, die!" It had no interest in learning something like that.

"Silence, friend," a voice said at that moment. The Linoone looked up and saw a Beedrill sitting on Ilac's shoulder. "I suggest you listen with an open mind."

"Okay, okay!" Linoone said, backing away. "Just don't come near me!"

"What I was saying," Ilac continued, absently stroking Beedrill's stinger, "was that a Ranch is virtually paradise. If you want, I can take you there." He elaborated for a minute, going over details of all of the friendly Pokemon. Finally, he finished. "So, what do you say?"

"Well, it sounds great," Linoone admitted. "I think I'll try it out."

"Excellent," Ilac said. "Will you travel in a Pokeball while I finish with my business here?"

"I will," Linoone said. "Just do it quickly."

Ilac quickly threw a Pokeball, then turned to Eevee. "What did you think of that?"
