Charcoal smiled at his comment but quickly went back to frowning when he warned her. Maybe she caused more trouble than harm being here. But she had to find out. If something were to happen, Charcoal knew it would be her fault. She pinned her ears back a made her way over to KC. After having a seat next to KC, Charcoal kept her eyes on Kaya and Buck. She wanted to be prepared for anything.

KC smiled. Everything seemed to have worked out fine. Then she spied Buck heading towards Kaya and Charcoal with a mixed look on her face.
"What's going on?" she asked nervously. Before Charcoal could answer, Kaya and Buck's argument did.
"What?!" Kaya barked, causing the pack to stare. Buck glared at anyone who was looking and the pack all pretended to mind their own business. The pair argued, out of earshot from Charcoal and KC, but Kaya finally snorted and stormed off. Buck blinked, then spun around to look at his pack, most of which were staring at him.
"Who's scouting?! And who's on pup-duty?! Move it!" Buck growled, sending his pack members running in all different directions.

As she watched the argument, Charcoal only felt worse. Before Kaya left, Charcoal had her ears pinned back and kept her eyes on the ground. She should have kept her curiousity to herself. Was she really so shallow to not think that his family would be effected? She glanced up at Kaya and Buck. They looked furious. When Kaya stormed off, Charcoal walked over to Buck, "I'm guessing I shouldn't have come..."

Buck shrugged it off. "She's always angry about something anyway" he grumbled. Buck paused, not sure exactly what to say. "Uh, do you want to go see the territory? We already went hunting, so if you're hungry, we can stop by there too"

Charcoal smiled slightly, not wanting to be a burdon, but she wanted to hang out with her father. Instead of denying his offer, she wagged her tail and nodded, "KC took good care of me while we traveled here, but I would love to see the territory!" Charcoal giggled.

Buck smirked, then turned to Yukon who had stayed behind.
"Can you stick by the den for a bit?" Buck asked. "We'll be back in a bit"
Buck led the way not down the steep mountain trail, but along one that wound around the mountain. Buck paused for a bit and glanced over the side.
"You can see every part of the territory from up here" Buck explained. "You and KC came into the territory from the west side, which is right over there"
Buck motioned to the distant trail. "But the most exciting part is the northern side"
The black wolf started off again, not turning back to look at the hybrid.
"If it wasn't for this side of the territory, I would have never gone to Nome... and never would have met Mindy"

Charcoal followed closely behind Buck. She listened intently to everything he said. When the stopped the first time, Charcoal gasped in awe at the sights. She had no idea that Buck's territory was so big, but she knew he must have worked hard to get it all. When the two started walking again and he talked about meeting Mindy, her eyes quickly softened, "And if you hadn't met mom, then I would have never been born. You know she still loves you right?" She walked faster, keeping pace, and came to his side.

"Yeah, I know" Buck replied softly, eyes clouding with memories. "I loved her too"
The father and daughter came around a sharp corner and the trail expanded into a ledge. Buck walked right up to the edge and looked down. The cliff below them rolled down into a rocky hill and a river rushed just below that. Only a few trees dotted the edge of the river. Otherwise, the monstrous field was empty of anything.
"This is where almost every bad thing has happened to me" Buck said gravely, expression hardening. "Nothing good ever happens here"

Charcoal smiled also when she thought about how much her mother talked about Buck. She could tell that they really loved eachother back when they were mates. As she followed him for alittle longer, she couldnt help but remember the reason why she came. She started to figure, even if she came back empty handed, at least she was able to know her father for one last time. And who knows, maybe they would meet again. When they stopped at the ledge, Charcoal gazed out at the river and feild. She quickly turned to him when he commented about how this place made him feel, "Why do you hate this place so much?"

Buck's expression darkened.
"This is where Boss tried to tear apart the pack. I fell off here and right through the river... and that's when I ran to Nome" Buck sighed and closed his eyes. "I wasn't myself... I didn't want to go on"
But then he'd found Mindy...
"It's much safer now, but there are still rogue packs around here... a few have been causing us some trouble, but as long as the pack stays together, we should have no problem taking care of them"

She looked at the river as he spoke. She sighed, "Well though I promised myself I wouldn't leave here without you, I'm sure even a blind wolf would be able to see you belong here. You need the pack and it needs you. Besides, Im sure mom would just be happy to hear your alive, well, and strong." Charcoal grinned widely. Then she suddenly remembered something, "Hey do you remember Klondike?"

Buck smirked, remembering the grey, black and white husky as he scanned his territory.
"Oh yeah, I remember him" Buck grinned. "I think he'd remember me too. Does he give you any trouble?"
Thoughts of Nome made Buck remember how much he'd liked it there... and how much it felt like home...

Charcoal grinned, "Actually I was wondering if you could teach me a couple moves while I’m here. You know, give him a little taste of what he missed while you were gone." Charcoal giggled then thought about how she could get back at Klondike for before. She bet he wouldn’t expect her to lash out at him like she planned to when she went back home.

Buck grinned.
"I could do that" the wolf smirked, but added with a more responsible tone, "But I wouldn't advise randomly attacking Klondike. There's still a system, from what I remember anyway. And Mindy would come out here herself to kill me"
Buck turned his attention back over the northern territory where the sun was beginning to set. There was still a bit of time until it was night though... so Buck stood up again and started back for the trail that led down the twin peaks.
"I think we've got a bit more time before it gets late" Buck said over his shoulder, carefully making his way down the trail.

Charcoal nodded then laughed slightly at his joke. Her mother probably would be furious if she found out that Charcoal was planning on attacking Klondike, even if it was for her. Charcoal gazed at the setting sun. Tonight would be her first night staying with her father's pack. She hoped she could make a place for herself. She turned her attention back to Buck and started to follow him down the trail.
