Setsuko giggled. "That's funny. In the Water Tribes, it snows all year long. You're seeing me in these clothes...I only wear these when I visit other Nations. Back at home, it's much too cold for that....I have to wear my fluffy coat. Jaci's fur is sufficient enough for him."

"THere's some places where it snows all the time too," Rue said "Like Alaska, and the Artic."

"Don't know anything about an 'alaska', but I sure as heck know about the arctic!" Setsuko said excitedly. "After all, I live at the South Pole!"

Rue almost sighed in releif. Finally, something they both knew about. No nations or whatever. "You do?" she asked. Maybe Setsuko had been joking about all that, if she lived in the South Pole, and she had just been making it up. THat wouldn't explain her confusion though, it had seemed real

"Well duh, didn't I say...oh yeah, I forgot you don't know about that. The Southern Water Tribe is located in the South Pole. Vice-versa with the Northern Tribe."

There was those unheard of tribes and nations again. Rue almost sighed again, this time with exasperation. "I've been to the South Pole once, and I have never seen a Southern Water Tribe," she said, recalling the images of the snowy landscape.

"Like I said," Setsuko murmured, "It's like we're from two different worlds." Then more loudly, she added, "But it is there. I would know, I was born there, I live there. It exists." She insisted. Jaci yowled his agreement. Blue Lions where an arctic breed.

"I beleive you," Rue said hurriedly. "So does Arizona, and Alaska, and the White House, where the president lives," she added, wanting to clarify that.

Setsuko shrugged. "Whatever." She stared longingly into the distance again. "I miss my parents," She whispered painfully. "I probably sound like such a baby right now, it's just that I might never see them again...But I want to, Rue, I really want to. I would really like to see them again, and everyone else, for a matter of fact. Mother...Father...Uncle Sokka...Aunt Suki...Samiia...Kuilak...Vesa...even Wayra. Well..." She thought of the 12-year-old Firebender and his crazy ideas. "Maybe not Wayra. But still."

"Who's Wayra?" Rue asked. "And the rest of them," she added.

Setsuko sighed happily. "Well, since you asked..." She paused a moment, giggling lightly. "My mother's name is Katara, and she's the nicest person I know. She's always looking out for me, even though she can be a little overprotective sometimes. My father's name is Aang, he's the a--well..." She paused a moment, but then decided it was safe to tell Rue. She probably wouldn't know what it meant anyway. "He's the Avatar. He's a bit more relaxed about me going on adventures than Mother is, but perhaps it's because he was that way himself. Mother always said that I had Father's spirit of adventure. She could see it in my silvery eye." She turned towards Rue so that the flying girl could see her unique eyes. "My eyes are different colors. One is sliver-gray like Father, the other is crystal blue like Mother." She paused a moment, the smile faint on her lips. Then she continued. "Uncle Sokka is Mother's brother, he's from the Southern Water Tribe as well. He's really funny and loves to eat meat. He's not a bender, but he dose have a sword. His wife, my Aunt Suki, is a really sweet lady who was born in the Earth Kingdom But at the same time she's really tough. Also not a bender, she fights with fans, it's pretty cool. Their daughter is my cousin, Samiia. She's and Earthbender and totally awesome. She has these deep green eyes that seem intact with the earth itself. Kuilak's my neighbor. He can be a pain in the butt, though if you need some archery skills, he's the one to go to." She laughed, thinking of all the crazy moments she'd spent with Kuilak creaming him with snowballs, and all the intense times when they had to fight for each other. Setsuko once passed out from bending when miles away from camp, and Kuilak carried her right back to her home. "Vesa's the a Prince in the Fire Nation. Fire Lord Zuko and Lady Mai's son. We call him Ves. He's really shy, but cute. He's only 10, after all. His older brother, Wayra, is 12 years old, heir to the throne and even more of a pain than Kuilak. Both brothers are Firebenders."

Rue nodded as if she had gotten all of this. "What's an Avatar though?" she asked, the word strange in her mouth. She had never heard of someone being an 'Avatar' before.

"Simple," Setsuko replied, "It means he is the one person in the world who can bend all four elements. Every time an Avatar dies, his or her spirit is reincarnated into another person. It always follows a cycle: Water, fire, earth, air. My dad was born an Air Nomad, so when he dies, a person will be born in the Water Tribes who holds his spirit, they will become the next Avatar." She spoke as if it was nothing unusual, though even in her world it was a very special person. But then again, she lived with him and was used to it.

Rue noticed that Setsuko said this all nonchalantly. "That must be really cool then, to live with him as you dad," she said.

Setsuko blushed faintly. "A lot of people call me special. The Avatar's daughter. First and only bi-bender in existence." Her expression saddened. "But it's not all praise and greatness. People expect so much of me. My parents saved the world." She turned to Rue, the weight of it all reflecting in her unique eyes. "But I don't always know if I can do what they expect." She sighed, the her expression brightened. "But I do like living with him. He is my father, after all. I love him and Mother more than I care about what people want from me."
