Kadijat opened her eyes tiredly; the bright light blurred her vision. “Ughh..” she groaned as she shut her eyes closed again. She laid on her side, and the cold floor pressed against her thin T-shirt. Beside her someone, or something, walked heavily on what sounded like a metal floor. ‘Maybe if I play possum, it’ll go away’ she thought, squeezing her eyes closed tightly

"Hey, Kadijat...Wake up. C'mon, ya can't fool me with that 'ol possum trick on me y'know." Ray shook Kadijat's shoulder. "Wake up!"

"Ray, where are we..?" Kadijat said without opening her eyes.

"We're in...we're in some sort 'ta lab. Who ever put us here got us locked up in cages."

Rufus groaned and held his hed as he started to wake up. He touched the spot were he was shot, and then tried to wake up Bailey, "Uh, Bailey, where not by the highway anymore!" he said, worried and scared.
Bailey sat up and looked around, "No, we're in lab., and no, not the dog, before you even say it." she looked at the others, and the at the different things in the lab.

Thaddius' vision slowly returned to himself, but he saw nothing but metal and bright lights. He groaned as he scratched his head. "Is anyone else here?" he said, his voice echoing off the steel walls and cages.

Shay blinked, her head throbbing. She groaned, opening her green eyes fully. She sat up, her mouth dry. She was in a cage, in what looked like a lab. She narrowed her eyes, confused, then remembered before. She fought the after affects of the drug, waking up completly as her heart beat faster. She sat up, looking around to see the rest of them asleep, only Kadijat and Ray awake. "Kad, Ray?" she asked, her words still slightly slurred. The rest of them woke up too. "Rufus, Bailey, Thad?" she asked, wondering if they were okay.

"Shay?" called Thaddius, hopefully. He tried to stand up, but his head banged against the low ceiling of his cage. He recoiled, rubbing his head, when he felt his ears were furry. He felt his ears, and the tips were pointy as well. He looked at his hands and screamed bloody murder. They were paws.

"What?" Bailey said, fully awake now. She looked over at Shay, "Rufus is probably gonna fall back asleep if you don't threaten him or something. Those darts were strong. And he' well, no ver strong..." she looked over at him, "Wake up, or the people will dart you again!" she tried to wake him up, but he wouldn't budge. "Well, everyone except him is awake, any ideas on how to get out of this mess?"

"Guys?" Ray called out seeing that the others were awake."Y'all OK?

Kadijat groaned and rolled over to Ray. "Don't be so loud!" she snarled. "Your screaming's hurting my ears!"

Ray turned to his friend, completly confused. "I'm NOT yelling." he wined. "And yellings not soppose ta hurt YOUR ears; you yell all the time, Kadijat."

Kadijat sat up quickly and covered her ears. "Well, if you're not screaming, then why are my ears so sensitive?" She glanced over to Ray who shruged. "Think it could be an effect from what was in those darts?"

"THad?!" Shay cried, hearing him scream. SHe looked at him. He was staring at his paws. Wait, paws?! She looked at herself and noticed a tail. She flicked it experimentaly, horrified as it moved. She drew in a sharp breath, shocked by this, but not screaming. THen she noticed her hands, there were claws extending from her fingers! "What the heck?!" she cried out. "Guys, you-," she broke off, looking at them, horrified. THey were like ths too.

"I'M AN ANIMAL!" screamed Thaddius, looking all over himself. He found a tail, and his feet were now paws as well. "Someone please tell me my face is still human!"

Shay tore her gaze away from her own changed body, keeping her head better than Thad. "It is," she said, staring at the thankfully normal face of Thaddius. "Is mine? And someone please tell me I don't have fur," she said, her now cat-like eyes staring at them anxiously, her tail flicking.

Bailey looked at her hands, and saw some claws, anshe held her hands to her mouth, only to feel the sharp fangs, an then she saw a tail out of the corner of her eye. A white tiger tail. "Ahhh!" she said, almost screaming, but trying to keep calm. she punched rufus n te arm, "Wake up! Now!"
Rufus mumbed something and woke up, "What?" he said, still a little groggy.
"What? Look at yourself you look like a... like a... WOLF!" Bailey sia, a little scared.
Rufus looked at his arms, and looked around, "Wow, now I'll never need glasses!" he said, testing out his eyesight.

Thaddius took a few deep breaths, calming down, then said to Shay, "Yes, no, I dunno..." he was ranting now. "Maybe those darts held some poison, maybe those people on the side of the road had something to do with it, maybe-"

"SILENCE!" yelled Commander Aln as he marched into the room. "I know you all may be a bit frazzled..." he paused to grin evilly. "...but this isn't even the start."
