Katie smiled lightly, licking her son tenderly.
Balto nodded. "I think it best to wait until we're away from Cachen, in case you bleed."

"So, are you feeling better now little guy?" asked Kodi, nuzzling his little baby.
Cachen nodded. "I feel lots better."
Kodi nodded. "Katie, keep him here while I got drain the blood off some of the rabbit...uh how do I do that?" he asked, confused.
Tina nodded. "That's a good idea."
Lena finished eating. "I stuffed." she said, smiling. She walked over to Balto, being closer to the male parents than the female parent. "Grandpa, will you clean my face so I no make Cachen sick?"

Katie shook her head. "Sweet dog-pup..." she said, using one of her pet names for her mate. "You need to wake up that ounce of wolf in you! Hold the carrion up and the blood will drip. Then scramble to snow to get rid of the red..." she shook her head, looking at Kodi from lowered eyelashes. "This is what I get for mating for love..." she joked, winking.
Balto chuckled, nodding to his little Granddaughter. He licked Lena's muzzle "Of course," he said, before continuing to clean the blood from her white muzzle.
Tai hiccuped softly, going over and cuddling her Grandmother. "Gramma," she said, looking up with a red-stained muzzle. "You clean me? Please?"

Cachen looked a little sick at that.
"Maybe you should've whispered that." said Kodi, he went back to the clearing and looked at Kai. "You still hungry?"
Lena giggled as she was licked, it tickled.
Jenna nodded, smiling. She licked her little baby granddaughter's snout to clean her.

Katie laughed softly, licking Cachen's snout tenderly. "Leave a she-wolf to what she knows." she called, meaning the care of her pup.
Kai nodded, burying his snout under the snow to clean it. He shivered at the cold and began to wriggle to wash his face.
Balto smiled, giving one last lick before pulling away. "there, all clean." he said, winking at the pup.
Tai laughed softly, trying not to squirm.

"How say what I have?" asked Cachen. "Hemphoba?"
Kodi nodded. He took the rabbit. "Dad! Can you help me drain the blood off this rabbit? I don't know really how to do it." he said, not fully understanding how Katie explained it, like how to make sure the blood all drained off.
Lena giggled. "Thanks grandpa!"
Jenna finished soon. "There, all clean little one." she said, nuzzling the pup.

Katie chuckled, looking down with great care at her young. "he-mo-fo-bia..." she said slowly and with great care.
Balto smiled, before looking from Granddaughter to Son. He ruffled Lena's fur and laughed at his son. He was not meant to live the life of a wolf, indeed. He grabbed the rabbit by the other end, watching the blood spill from the meat.
Tai smiled, her little tail wagging. "Thank you, Gramma!"

"He-hemophob-phobia?" asked Cachen. "Hemophobia?"
Kodi nodded. "Oh, I see..." he said. "Gross, but it'll help Cachen to know."
Lena tackled her sister and licked her face. "Love you sis!"
Jenna smiled, watching the little pups.

Katie smiled broadly. "Good! That's right, little Cachen...hemophobia." she said, feeling sadness and despair over the word-would it get better with age? Or would he suffer forever?
Balto smiled and let go, licking the blood form around his muzzle as best he could. He thought his son could handle it.
Tai giggled, and licked her sister's face back. "No! Love you!" she said cutely.

Cachen whined. "Why momma sad?" he asked, being able to see it in her eyes.
Kodi moved the drained rabbit and put it in a safe place. He then kicked snow over the red snow to cover it. "Did I get it all?"
Lena giggled. "We love each other." she said, cuddling close to her sister, she loved her family dearly.
Tina looked at Kai. "You worried about your brother too?"

Katie tried to smile. Her result was not as good as her real smile was. "I am sad, Cachen, because you are suffering-and I'm hurt so much...because I did not know."
Balto checked over the area, and nodded. "You got it all, son."
Tai nodded, cuddling close to her big sister. Even though they were only an hour or so apart, she considered Lena much older.
Kai picked his head up. Snow was piled up on his muzzle. He nodded though, shaking off the mountain of snow.

Cachen whimpered. "But it make me sad when momma sad...and me hurt when momma hurt..."
Kodi nodded. "Good, Cachen will be ok then." he said. "I love my pups, you know how it feels to see one of you babies sick."
"...Want to sneak off to check on Cachen?" whispered Lena, giggling.
Tina nodded, trying not to laugh at the snow. "Well I'm sure he'll be just fine."

Katie laughed. "We're definitely bonded, little one! What we feel is always going to be a cycle." she said, licking her pup's nose.
Balto smiled. "Let me tell you, son-you are just like any other Father on the Earth."
Tai gasped, looking at Lena sternly. "You get inna big trouble!" she whispered back.
Kai nodded, happy. "I happy, then." he said with a smile.

Cachen laughed. "Yeah, we blonded." he said, misprouncing it in his excitement, and being a baby.
Balto nodded. "Yeah, I guess I am." he said, smiling and licking his father's nose.
"Momma won't mind, it show we're cocerned about Cachen." whispered Lena.
Tina smiled. "That's good little one." she said, glad to have cheered up the little puppy.

"I knew," said Katie "I knew the moment you were born we'd be together forever, baby boy." she said, licking his cheek softly.
Balto chuckled, shaking his head as his son licked him. "You are."
Tai, still suspicious, nods. She only wanted to go to protect Lena. "Okay...I go with you."
Kai giggled and wagged his little tail rapidly.
