Noah had heard them too. "Maybe we should barricade the windows and sleep on the second floor," he suggested, clutching his spear in one hand and his pocketknife the the other. "I don't suppose you've got any nails and boards, so you?" His eyes wandered to the door, all thought of food forgotten except to avoid being it.

Rosey looked at the door. "Maybe it would be a good idea if we locked the doors and barred the windows..." she said, Biting her lips lightly as she looked at Skye.

Skye looked at Rosey and wagged her tail slowly, Heer eyes fixed on her owners. She panted slightly, Still tired from all the running they did.

Jack opened his eyes. He was still feeling weak and didn't want to stand up. He looked at Opal, then at Rosey, finally at Rosey's pet, Skye. He smiled and then called Skye. "C'mon Skye! Jump here!" he said, pointing to the bed. He wanted to be close to someone right now, no matter if it was a human or a pet.

Skye looked at Jack, And then to Rosey, And wagged her tail. She pushed herself up off the floor and trotted over to Jack, Jumping on the bed and carefull not to jump on him. She curled up next to him on the bed and nuzzeled his hand gently.

Rosey watched Skye and smiled. She looked around at everyone and then resting her gaze on Angelica and Connie.

Jack stroke Skye's fur. "You're a good dog, Skye..." he smiled at her and then buried his face into her fur, smiling. He then closed his eyes.

Ske smiled at him and watched him fall asleep on her. She looked around at Connie, Rosey and Angelica before resting her head on the bed and slowly drifting off to sleep..

Rosey smiled as she watched the two fall asleep. She looked down at Connie and gently stroked her soft fur. She leant back in the chair and relaxed her body, Resting her head on the back.

Noah rose to his feet. "I'll look around and see what we can find," he said. "We should put boards up and then spike them with nails if we can so those things can't claw or ram through from the outside." Looking around, he added, "It'll take at least a few of us to barricade the doors with anything heavy, though. Any volunteers?"

Rosey sighed and stood up. "I will help, If it keeps us all alive" she said as she glanced around the room at everyone. "So what do we do first?" she asked, Turning her attention back to Noah.

Angelica stood up. "i really don't like my own life, but i'll help." she looked down at Connie and back at Noah. i wonder if there is any more people out there...... she sighed.

Connie barked noisily as she ran up to the window the creture was at. "STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY!" she barked repeativly and noisily.

Noah passed a spear to Rosey, and one to Angelica, then passed handfuls to the others. "Let's take a look and see what we have to work with. We know, at least, that we can barricade the door. Angelica, you and Jack keep an eye on the window and be ready to shish-kabob that thing if it tries to get in. Rosey, Connie, see if you can help me move some furniture against the door." As he clipped his pocketknife to his sleeve cuff, he concluded, "Everyone be ready with your weapons, just in case."

Opal clung to her weapon, and gulped. At least she had a spear, she thought.
It wasn't much comfort as she thought about where they kept their nails, hammers... all those sorts of things.

"Yeah... we have nails... hammers... planks of wood..." she stated, looking outside the window that she had seen the claws at ".....outside."

"I'll help out with anything you need me too."

She looked down, hesitating and looking at her weapon in her hands. What was she hesitating about?

She had nothing to hesitate about.

"we'll have to go down to the shed to get it.... I vote we wait until morning."

She looked out the window, and seeing it she saw how scary, creepy it looked. Suddenly it almost seemed as it it were daytime again, back when everything was normal. The flowers outside the window.....

She shook her head and snapped back to the present.

"I hope morning comes soon" She muttered, sitting down on her couch.

Rosey nodded and clenched the spear in her hand. She looked around the room trying to find something to put against the door. She pulled a small-ish table out and pressed it against the door, Not daring to look out of the window. She looked around the room again, Trying to find something else to put against it.

Skye opened one eye, Still snuggled into Jack. She looked around the room at everyone, But didnt leave Jack's side. She was very loyal and more now in her age. She looks around at her owner Rosey and wags her tail befoer resting her head back on the bed, Careful not to wake Jack.

Jack slowly opened his eyes. He smiled and stroked Skye's fur. Then he sat on the bed, yawning. He stood up and walked up to Opal. He sat next to her and looked at her. " I know I shouldn't ask you this, but... What's wrong? They haven't attacked us yet..." he said, trying to smile.

Skye smiled and yawned, Stretching her legs. She pushed herself up off the bed and wagged her tail slightly. She jumped down onto the floor and looked around, Running and getting a lamp and placing it on the table that Rosey put down, Wagging her tail.

Jack looked at Skye. He didn't know why, but he started to love that dog a lot. He smiled at her. "C'mon here, Skye!" he called her, wanting to stroke her fur. It looked like Skye was his closest friend for a moment.
