Here he is! I love him, too. Might make a character page, whether he wins or not. And he'll still be an army dog either way.
Name: Deryck
Age: Adolescent, teen.
Gender: Male
Breed: German Sheperd Dog
Personality: (Sorry, but it has some cursing, though it's censored.) Some people and dogs find Deryck as an obnoxious bas**** that's always vain and doing stupid sh**. He's alway bringing himself and others down, never seeing the good in his life. Those who truely know Deryck, see that he has great potential and a charming self. He always feel like he's a load of cr**, but never finds himself that wrong.
How he feels about being an army dog: He feels that being an army dog had given him a purpose and makes him feel better about himself. He normally keeps to himself and his owner, but will occasionally interact with other army dogs and other owners. He'll normally speak to the younger recruits and pass on his stories, but he will speak to other dogs like him-- which are very few and the reason he's normally caged in.
History: Deryck was born to two purebred German Sheperd Dogs who loved him until his father left at an early stage in his life. His mother and father had argued and his father left without another word. Deryck established around the empty place of his father's and he thinks that might have been where he changed. His mother was always blaming him for what happened and the reason his father left. With his mother in denial, his father gone, he headed off from home, leaving his brother back at home to take the blame.
.....With Deryck at breaking point, he found a new home at an old locamotive rail company. There he met a few other strays who shared their stories every night under the starry, moonlit nights. Deryck kept to himself occasionally talking about his brother, but no one else. As Deryck lived in this temporary home, he began realizing the dangers of living on the streets-- or the railroads, to be exact.
.....One early morning, as Deryck was out on the streets he and his fellow strays were caught in a dog catchers trap. Deryck and the other mutts were taken to the local shelter, hoping to get out or find homes.
.....The next day several families came in looking for a pet. But Deryck's agression towards humans was an immediate turn-off. They took in the strays, leaving Deryck off on his own, with no one, doomed to a euthanization in a matter of weeks.
.....But Deryck's savior came through the door. Ty's owner came in with a friend looking for a good stray for the army program. Deryck watched the men as they smiled and chattered on.
.....The next day he was somewhere strange, preparing for war.
.....At first, Deryck was unwilling to cooperate and growled, defending himself with attacks at the men. His size and strength weren't abnormal, but he was able to get a few lankyier men off their feet. He had driven away most of them with his snarling, his agression was too much for even the bravest men. But, eventually, he was broken, tamed by Ty's owner, both breathing deeply, trying to calm down.
.....After that day when he was tamed, Deryck settled down and began cooperating and learning how to sniff out bombs and guard the men.
.....Later on, Deryck was on his way to war. He led a group of seven men and two other dogs successfully through their station.
.....To celebrate in his honor to army "patches" were tattooed into Deryck's fur, making him look as if he wears army bagdes.
.....Deryck loves the patches and will never take them off, for they are his honor.
Other: Yes, you spell it with a "y". You mispell his name and he'll destroy you. He doesn't wear tags or anything around his neck but he does wear and occasional chain collar while on a leash. (Hope that's okay)
Fan fic sample (if that's okay): "What?!" Deryck hollered at Vesnick, the young schnauzer that stood before him. His eyes were fiery, full of hate towards the mutt at the moment. His teeth were bared, the enormous fangs shimmered.
"T-t-t-terron was captured by the dog catcher." stuttered young Vesnick, thinking of the white husky whimpering as he was hauled off to the animal shelter.
"Then we can't do anything," Deryck muttered. "He's gone, you idiot. You didn't even care to howl to imform everyone!" Deryck worded in a way that it was a statement, not a question.
"But, Deryck there must be some way to--"
"No! We're not going to help him anymore. He's gone and we can't do much more. If we go and try to help him, we'll all be stripped of our freedom. We'll all be lugged away. This is all your fault! You saw him being captured, didn't you?! Why didn't you say anything?! He could have been here right now!" Deryck sighed and padded toward his stay next to the railroad. He sat back on his haunches, breathing deeply and trying to remain calm, if he could.
"So what will we do?" asked Vesnick.
"Warn the others. That's all we can do."

Hope you like him.
I gave him a dark pelt for his more dark side and you can see the army "patches" on his right hind and fore legs. Only on those, though.
I worked really hard on this, so I hope it helps me in the long stretch. I added A LOT to history because he's one of my new favorites.
