Shadow carefully went down to get the sheep. He heaved the sheep up, the stupid sheep kicked and squirmed, but Shadow didn`t care, the sheep was almost up, but Shadow wasn`t tall enough. "Dart, you`ll need to grab the sheep, it`s right there, I`m too short to lift it up any higher." Said Shadow, the sheep was now getting heavy.

Dart grabbed the sheeps horn and pulled.It scrambled onto the ledge and started grazing.Dart looked over the ledge "Shadow!You ok?!" he yelled down to the pup.He crept dow to the gap in the rock but couldnt get ant further "Shadow!" he yelled.

Shadow collapsed onto the ledge, exhausted. "Yeah, I`m alright!" He replied, he then climbed back up he sat down and watched the sheep graze. "Let`s just hope that stupid creature doesn`t fall down there again." Muttered Shadow.

"You did pretty well down there kid" said Dart watching the sheep walk as it grazed.He stood up and snapped at the sheeps heels sending it in the direction of the farm as a sunden bang sent torrents of rain down on them "Flash storm" muttered Dart as he stood up already drenched.Seconds ago it had been bright,sunny and dry now it was wet,cold and miserable.HE shook his head to clear his ears of water "Come on,lets go back...Tucker will have my head on a plate if you catch a cold" he said as he started to walk forwards against the howling wind.

Buddah lay under the hastily found shelter with his siblings."I want to go home" he moaned.

"Ok." Said Shadow as he followed Dart back, he then saw the golden retriever pups again, and waited until Dart was out of sight. "Pst, cmon." He whispered as he led the pups to a better shelter around the back of the barn, nobody ever went there, Shadow then caught up with Dart.

"Hmm, seems even the meanest of dogs can be nice sometimes." Said B-dawg.

"Yeah...I just wanna go home, I miss mom and dad." Said Budderball.

Dart walked into the barn.Pups about Jack and Shadows age were playing and talking in a corner.He leapt onto a haybail which he used as his bed."Hey Tucker there was a sheep on eagle ridge,Shadow here got it off better than half the dogs I've seen working the cliffs" he barked "And we need dogs for the competition next month" he said.Dart already knew he was in the team already.The 1 year 6 month old collie was brilliant for his age and was already teaching pups.He wanted Shadow n the team mainly cause shadow obeyed him.

Tucker nodded "Keep on with his training we'll see" he said.Unlike the others he didnt trust Dart.

Jack yelped loudly in pain as he was slammed aginst thee hard oak tree, making his side bleed. His vision soon blurred, and he was uncousious. He didnt know what was going on, but if he did, he would be wuite mad because Shadow might take his place as a champion in the herding ring.

Rosebud slipped into the barn, but than her paws (and everything else) were covered in dirt almost. "Yuck! Somebody needs to clean this place up. Its so stinky and dirty in here." She whinned, looking around in the darkness, trying to figure out a why they could osmehow get hme.

"Duuude, how could you want to go home when were here? Look at all the dirt!?" Mudbud, said, rolling around like crazy. Than he heard Rosebud, and he said, "Dudet, whats wrong with you? This place is great!" He said, as a huge smiled stayed firmly on his face.

Buddah rolled his eyes "If you say so mudbud" he said.

Tucker looked at Dart "Find Jack Im worried for him" he said.

Dart crept to where he'd hurt Jack "Get up you stupid pup" he snarled after knocking a load of water on him to wake him up "Get up" he snapped.He kicked Jacks side "get up before I make you".

Jack got up slowly as he cried up in pain. He looked up at the mean looking Dart, and looked up at him, with deep, sad eyes. He sighed. knowing he wouldnt get any compassion from him. He started to slowly limp twords Tucker. When he got there, he collappased in front of him.

Tucker hobbled towards Jack "Somebody get him some food" he ordered.Tucker was highly respected and everyone obeyed him.A rasher of bcon was placed in front of JAck "Well Jack,what happened?" he asked.

Jack sliped a piece of the baken into his mouth, and said a few words. "Dart... slam.... tree.... puppies..." That all he said before blanking out once more.

"I dont know Tucker...sir," said Dart "He must be confused,he was unconscious when I found him,Ive no idea what happened" the lie came easily to dart.He stood up and yawned "I'm going to sleep" he said.

Rosebud had been watching from a distence, and didnt like hwta she was seeing, So she stepped quietly out of the old creeky bark, and shaked off all the dirt out of her fur. She begun to approch Tucker, Dart, and Jack. "Its true, that guy slammed Jack aginst a tree." She said firmly.
