Glaedr growled at the wolves and glared harshly. "It's no use trying to fight them...we'll just have to talk to them, and if that doesn't work...we run." Said Glaedr.

'Talk!? you think we would discuss matters with the likes of you' spat the red wolf. The others behind him laughed, a low, menacing laugh. The red wolf swished his tail, glaring at each dragon in turn. 'I see that pathetic Sethla failed to bring back our experiment successfully, just as I knew he would, it was lucky we had guards posted up and down this trail' he continued, raising his paw. The two wolves beside him advanced forwards a few steps, grinning from ear to ear.
Aurora shuffled closer to Glaedr, very scared of the wolves. 'Don't hurt the others, please, they have nothing to do with this, they didn't know what...who I was, don't hurt them' she shouted, tears coming to her eyes. We can't fight them, they aren't really there, but they can fight us...how? she wondered, hoping that the answer would come before it was too late.
Huntress's growl intensified as the wolves spoke and came nearer, but it got even louder when she saw Aurora get closer to Glaedr. 'What do you mean there is no point trying to fight them, we could beat them, there are only three, we would be more than a match for them' she roared angrily. If they did fight they would get hurt...or worse, so why was Glaedr trying to talk to them. What did I ever see in him, he is a coward she decided.

Glaedr bared his teeth and stood infront of Aurora protectively, growling harshly. Glaedr's tail went up, which is a wolf's way of showing another wolf that they are a threat and are ready to fight.. Glaedr knew this. He knew that if he distracted them long enough, Aurora and Huntress could run off and be within the clan's territory safely, with the flower. "If you lay one paw on either of them, I'm gonna kick your sorry butts all the way to hell!"

'You? Are going to hurt us? I suppose Sethla explained who, and what we are, and what that dragoness is' the red wolf growled. His packmates laughed, a hyena laugh that would have frightened a dragon even slightly less determined than the dragons in front of them. He kept his tail down, his body language and his expression blank, but the other wolves snapped into an aggressive position straight away. They slowly advanced on the group of three, snarling and barking. 'I think' the red wolf sniggered, 'that hell may be where you and your friends are headed'.
Aurora snarled and pushed past Glaedr, growling at the wolves. If she had had hackles, they would have been trying to pull themselves free from her coat. 'You guys go, I can take them, you can't' she snapped, never taking her eyes off the wolves. 'They changed me to be like them, so that means I can hurt them' she said in a lower voice, finally realising how different she was. With a roar she leapt on the soft gold wolf, feeling her teeth sink into something that wasn't quite flesh, but was more like sponge. 'Go now' she roared.
'Well look who's the hero, if she is telling us to go then we should' Huntress said, her face emotionless, but her mind wasn't. What does she mean they changed her, how is she different, and what is different about those wolves she thought, similar questions buzzing in her mind, but she tried her best to ignore them.

Glaedr hesitated at first but then nudged Huntress in the direction of the den quickly but softly. 'Cmon, we need to get the flower back to the clan..." Said Glaedr, but deep down he was really worried about Aurora.

'Are you sure you wouldn't rather stay with your girlfriend' Huntress spat, but did start to hurry away. Her face was tense, and she had clamped her jaw shut at finally saying the word 'girlfriend' out loud. She had left the flower for Glaedr to take, she didn't want to be the pack horse and she wanted to get as far away from him and Aurora and the wolves as possible.

(Ok so I am going to leave Aurora for a while. Will she win...or not *dun dun duuun*)

Glaedr swiftly picked up the flower, and looked back to Aurora once more before heading in the direction of the den. "She's not---Well, she---I don't know, all I know is that it's useless trying to argue with females and we need to get this flower back to the clan." Replied Glaedr, not stopping once, but deep down it pained him to leave Aurora with the wolves, she could hurt them, but they could also hurt her. Glaedr was soon nearing the densite, every step pained his heart. 'Why? why did she ask us to leave her there, why couldn't we have just ran? grrrr, why am I even asking myself these things when I don't even know the answer?!' Thought Glaedr.

Finally he is learning something Huntress thought at Glaedr's comment on not being able to argue with females. She stayed always a few steps ahead of him, not wanting to drift next to him for fear of him seeing any emotions leaking out onto her face. Once or twice a tear fell from her eyes, and another time she snarled to herself. They were approaching the split beween the forest and the mountains, and having already gone to forest route she didn't want to go there again.

(XP I almost forgot about this..I had just finished watching Eragon when I suddenly remembered 'Oh c**p, I forgot to reply to The Earth's Heart')

Glaedr tilted his head slightly, giving Huntress a 'What the heck is the matter with you?' look behind her back. Glaedr sighed, finally he found the courage to once again open his mouth and say something. "Huntress, I can tell something is bothering you...whatever is the matter?" He asked, she was now starting to make him feel guilty for some reason.

Huntress stopped, a little shocked at Glaedr's question but also trying to find an answer that wouldn't make him persist with his questions. She desperately wanted to cry out everything that was the matter with her, to roar her anger and to weep her sorrow, but that would look weak in front of him. She thought of something and mumbled 'I just want to get back home, away from all this'. She knew her words sounded feeble, and that he would probably see through her lie, but it would have to do. But instead of walking off as she would have done at the start of the journey, she waited for his reply.

Glaedr could tell she was lying. "Huntress, you can tell me the truth...If it's embarrassing, I won't laugh...and if it's offensive, I won't be mad or sad. You can tell me anything Huntress and I still won't judge you. My mum told me this before she died..'Never judge a book by it's cover...instead, why don't you read a few pages to help you understand that it isn't all that bad.' now I haven't always obeyed that...but I do most of the time." Said Glaedr, he did not appear to show any emotion, but if someone looked directly into his eyes, they would be able to detect a hint of sadness. He was sad for he remembered his loving and caring mother that was badly injured by another dragon, whom he did not know or see. And her life was taken away..

Huntress mentally hit herself, she had dug herself a very big pit and was now stuck in it. 'It's that freak, she had just messed everything up, we could have been there and back by now if you two hadn't started your little smooching...' she started, but trailed off when she realised what she had said. She shook her head and started to walk slowly, her jaw clenched in an attempt to stop tears from flowing. Her feet felt heavy and she wanted to give up, but she couldn't because it would look weak, she couldn't look weak. You didn't judge this book by a few pages did you she thought bitterly.

"Hey, we didn't smooch, I was just tryin to protect her from the wolves, thats all." Replied Glaedr, he knew they had gotten quite close but they didn't smooch. "Besides, she's not a freak, I think some of that mist had gotten into her head and clouded her thoughts and memory." He added, he seemed to be standing up for her, but he didn't want to turn the conversation into an argument, so he left it at that.

Huntress just snarled in reply, and didn't turn around. She couldn't face Glaedr, she couldn't look him in the eye without feeling angry and sad all at the same time. She stormed on ahead, but didn't look where she was putting her feet and stumbled, cutting her feet on the rocks and twisting her ankle. She lay, slightly stunned, before attempting to get up. Her foot hurt badly and she found herself limping as she tried to walk.

Glaedr rushed to her side. "Huntress, are you okay?" He asked worriedly, she appeared to have a twisted ankle.
