"Shay... Tell me, I wouldn't ask if I didn't want to know.." He couldn't move, or he would accidentally bump her; that was the last thing needed .. to scare her as jumpy as she was.

Roland blinked, his reality snapping back, The words echoed in his head a moment before he acted. He went forward the extra centimeter, and kissed her. He snapped backwards, and sat cross-legged on the floor. "How long." He was trying to pry now.

"Heh. Don't worry about it." He grabbed his volcom hoodie and smiled to her, then left, closing the door behind him. He would see her that night, anyway. They had a friend's party to attend.

That night..

"Ro.. Are you still sober, man? You are talking about Shay alot more than usual.." Kenzie asked, standing on tiptoe, a beer in one hand, balling her fist aorund a edge of his volcom hoodie.

"Holy crap. Who cut your hair, Ro?!" Daniel asked. "Its.. Short."

Roland shrugged, reaching up to touch the short Mohawk. It was obvious he'd been given another black eye now, His hair couldn't hide it.

Kenzie gave him a quick peck, then smiled, "I'll be back," She left.

Roland was feeling a little tipsy - His world was blurring. He was drunk. He needed it.

Roland shrugged.

"Where's Shay?" Daniel asked.

"Yeah," Travis agreed. "Where is she?"

Roland shrugged again, then called her phone. "Pick up."

He called again, this time from the kitchen - the quiet quiet kitchen.

Kenzie walked in.

"No." Roland knew what she was gonna try right away. The voicemail rang in, and he left one. "Shay, come on to the party as soon as you can- I need you. Bye."

He texted her back. Yeah but I want YOU... and clapped his phone shut and pushed Kenzie off. "I gotta go.." He said, leaving, pulling his hoodie on. He really did.

He made it to the Taylors' house with no problems and picked up Shay's gift he'd been planning on getting her forever... then left there and let himself in Shay's house, the stench hit his nose and he immidiately understood. He walked back to her room and set the squirming wriggling chocolate and white siberian husky puppy on her bed beside her.

The pup licked her face.

He sat down with the pup in his lap. "Hey... Brought you a present, Shay." He kissed the top of her forehead.

"Why the puppy? I never got you anything for your birthday.. That's why I've been working over at the Taylors. Why I am here Is I love you and I wanted to give this here pup to you."

The puppy looked at her with green eyes that matched the green ribbon around it's neck.
