Thumper was still behind Tad. "They gathered Goats. Midnight gave one of them a heart attack..."

"We're down to Thirteen. One got caught in the barbed wire." Bolt said.

Tad shivered.

Midnight started to cry. "I-I don't want to hear it!!!" she cried. "I'm sorry! I tried to help but now it seems that I'm not wanted here!!! I won't help again, I promise!" and she fled the barn in tears. She ran across the fields and into the woods, and wouldn't stop running until she got to the rock she always hid under when she wasn't hunting. She sat on the rock and cried, rain drenching her. "I hate being a wolf-dog! I hate it! I'm sorry! I nearly died and she HATES me! Will i ever find a place where I belong? And i bet Jagger hates me now, too. For killing the prettiest girl on the farm's livestock!" Midnight sobbed.

Rascal dipped his head, and looked at her upside down as she hid under the rock. "Hey. You. With the wolf-face." He said. It was obvious he was full wolf, his golden eyes shooting through her.

"Don't cry, Chickadee- The sky's already crying," He jumped down, his fur was pur white, save for the brown saddleback marking on his back.
