She limped over to the abyss and looked at the little crevice, " Well, there are spots like steps and there are plenty of them. We'll be able to get across." She said coming back to them not showing her fear of the abyss.

Helga trotted over to one and tested it with her paw. It gave way and fell, Helga almost going with it. Mike saw this and stabilized the vixen before she went over the edge.
"Any other plans. Either of you?"

She looked around it sniffing it, " Well, I don't really know. Follow me!" She said and ran to the right and made sure that they followed. She then got around the abyss and they were with her." There. Now, we don't have to cross it at all." She said and smiled.

Helga walked ahead of the two wolves, still a suspicious look in her eye. She was so busy thinking what the vision had meant, that she didn't notice the land suddenly drop off into nothingness until it was too late. With a stumble and a scream, she went straight off the edge. Mike was there just in time to catch her back paws. With help from Feather, they managed to get Helga back onto firm land.
Mike let out a whistle.
"Now that is an abyss!"
In front of the three, a canyon stretched endlessly out in front of them and literally as deep as the height of many trees, as Helga had said.
"Aye, There's our Abyss..."

Mike let out a cry somewhere between a growl of anger and a sob. Running over to where Feather had fallen, he looked over the edge and saw her on a small ledge, writhing in pain.
"Helga!" He sobbed, "She's hurt really badly. What do we do?"
Helga was only halfway paying attention, however. She was staring in fear at the wolverines. Only when Mike cried out again, did Helga look at him.
"It's what I predicted...Feather...She was the one who jumped. I never saw the landing. This is why."
Mike pulled himself together a bit.
"Well, what do we do now? We have to rescue her obviously."
"How far down would you say she is?"
"About as far as the house the man with the gun lived in was tall."
"I think I know what to do. Give me a moment."
She appeared a few moments later with a few young saplings. Working as fast as possible, she stripped long strands from them and wove them into two sturdy ropes.
"This will not support your weight. Tie the end around my waist, then hold onto the other end, hard as possible. I'm going down there."
Mike obeyed, and soon he was lowering Helga down to the ledge where Feather lie.
"Feather. I am here to help you. Do not move, I will try to get you back to land. Just hang in there. Please just hang on."

Feather heard Mike and then Helga talking. Her eyes darted open as she didn't realize where she was or what she was doing there. Words escaped her mouth, " Where am I? Who are you?" She had a concussion. The only thing she didn't forget, was Mike, " Where's Mike?" She asked a growl escaped her vocals.

Helga, not realizing Feather couldn't remember who she was, wrapped a second rope gently around her, then gestured for Mike to pull herself back up.
"Now we must both gently pull Feather back up here."
Mike nodded in agreement, and soon they had Feather back on firm ground. Mike went over to her.
"Feather," He sobber, "Please be alright. Please..."

"I'm fine dear." She said and tried to nuzzle him but her neck hurt to much. She could manage to move. Nothing was broken, it was just that she didn't feel like moving.
