Kodi shivered in the cold. "We need to find some kind of shelter before this blizzard gets any worse." He looked around, but couldn't see anything close by.
May hobbled over to Dusty, Ralph, and Kirby. "How soon do you think help will get here?" she asked them.
Ralph shrugged. "Don't know."
"It's gotta be soon though," Kirby added. "Don't you think they'll notice us missing from the finish line?"
Saba looked hard, but there wasn't even a sled team in the distance. "You don't think..." Saba faded off, not wanting to realize her worst fears.
Muk and Luk ran up to Jenna and her daughter. "Are they back yet?" Muk asked.
"No," Rose said. She wanted to explain, but couldn't find the words.

"Kodi, can you help me? I can't walk on my own with a broken leg." said Balto, managing to stand.
"As long as it takes." said Dusty. "As long as we can find warmth, we can stay alive, it takes a long time to starve and snow is water." she said.
Fang stayed beside May. "At least we're mostly unhurt...Balto has a broken leg though." he said.
Jenna walked over to Steele. "What happened to Balto?"
"How should I know?" asked Steele, smiling devilishly.

Kirby looked out over the snow and saw something in the distance. "Hold on," he said. "I think I found something." He walked over to it and saw a small cave. It looked just big enough to fit the whole sled team, but it would be crowded. "Hey guys!" he called to his team. "I found a cave!"
"Yeah, Dad." Kodi stood by his father so Balto was leaning on him. He heard Kirby's cries and lead Balto over there.
"Yes," Ralph said quietly. He was glad that they had some sort of shelter. He walked over to the cave. "Alright, Kirby," he said to his friend. "You found us a way to survive."
May looked at Fang before hobbling over toward the cave. She tried stepping on her sore leg and fell into the snow with a small yelp as surprise and pain.
"Cause you did something," Saba accused Steele. "We knoe you did."
"How else do you explain Dad's absence?" Rose joined.

Balto walked with Kodi's help. "Thank you son." he said as he laid down on the cave floor. "Anyone know how to set a bone?"
Dusty looked to Ralph. "Ralph, help me get the musher inside."
Fang helpped MAy up. "Lean on me, your shoulder is still loose." he said.
"Well he went down the wrong path." said Steele. "Maybe he's alright, maybe not." he said, backing Jenna up.
Miki looked at Saba, who was now behind Steele. She motioned for her to kick Steele and pointed between his hind legs.

"Not me." Kodi looked at Fang and May. "What happened to her?" he asked, not knowing what damage she had.
"She popped her shoulder outta place, but Fang put it back," Kirby explained. "Wait. Maybe Fang can help you," Kirby suggested to Balto.
Ralph walked with Dusty and grabbed the mushers hood. He was prepared to drag him to the cave, unsure of any other way.
May got up again and leaned on Fang. She walked unsteadily against him, the pain in her shoulder worse now.
Saba smiled devilishly. She placed a leg between Steele's paws before bringing it up and pulling away quickly.

Balto nodded. "Fang, know how to set a bone?" he asked.
"Yeah but I'll need something to splint it with." said Fang. "Kirby, Mr. Samson keeps all that stuff in the sled, you know where it is, can you get it?" he asked, walking May into the cave.
Dusty began pulling with Ralph.
Ralph howled in pain and fell on his said, paws over his groin. "Ohh...you little devil." he moaned, in well deserved pain.
Jenna chuckled. "Good job." she said. "Now come on, we need to find a map and go after your father, if I know him he's in trouble."

May laid down near Balto. She closed her eyes as the pain dulled.
"Yes, sir," Kirby said. He quickly went passed Dusty and Ralph, fetched the first aid bag, and was back in a flash. He set the bag down near Fang.
"Can I help?" Kodi asked. He wanted to help his father as much as he could.
Ralph and Dusty got the musher into the cave and dragged him as far away from the entrence as they could.
"We're going after them!?" Rose asked.
"Of course we are," Saba said, thining like her mother. "Where are we gonna get a map?"
Muk and Luk walked up to Jenna. "Can we came with you?" Muk asked.

"Kodi, get me something hard to bite, I have a feeling this is going to hurt a lot." said Balto.
"He's right, that would be smart." said Fang. He got the splints and bandages out of the kit.
Dusty laid down next to May. "Are you alright?" she asked, thinking of May like a little sister.
Boris came over. "Yes, I would be liking to help too."
"The more the better." said Jenna. "Dipsy and Mel of course but no one tell them why we need it, you know how Mel can get."
"Good job sister." said Miki. "I can't believe you actuelly hit Steele with a low blow." she said. "Did you see the look on his face?" she asked, then got an evil smirk herself and gave Steele a strong kick between the legs with her hind legs.

"Sure," Kodi said. "Hold own." He trotted out of the cave and picked up a peice of the sled that at broken off in the fall. He padded into the cave and gave the small peice of wood to Balto.
May shrugged. "It still hurts to walk on, but the pain isn't that bad when there's no weight on it."
Ralph walked over and sat next to Dusty. "Then lets keep you off that leg," he said to May.
Rose sighed. She wasn't at all sure about going after the mail team. "Fine," she said. "Then we better hurry up before they freeze." She began walking toward the post office.
Saba laughed with Miki before noticing Rose trotting off. "Wait for us, sis!" she said before running after Rose.

Balto bit down on the stick and nodded to Fang.
"Hold the part of his leg above the break still." said Fang to Kodi.
Dusty nodded. "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you, I care about you squirt."
Jenna followed Rose with Miki. "Steele is going to be feeling that for awhile."
Steele groaned, not even able to get up. "Oh those little brats...oh that hurt!"
