Kai chuckled, tearing his head away. "I know. Grandpa's always the one to call." he laughed.
Katie giggled, looking back at Lena. "Yes, thank you baby girl." she said sweetly. Her eyes would close, and she'd ley her head onto the soft cot. "You're so sweet, Lena."
Jenna shook her head. "It doesn't necesscarily mean she does." she licked his forehead. "Now, will you try and rest sweetheart?" she chuckled.
Tai smiled, pushing the bit of blanket back over to Balto with a light giggle.

Fang nodded. "You know it, I've got a lot of respect for old Balto." he said. "Kodi, someone needs to tell Balto and Jenna the news, you stay with Katie, I'll tell him, Kai, what do you want to do?"
Lena nodded. "Momma, this sickness, what does it feel like?" she asked, curious but afriad.
Cachen shook his head. "I've got too much energy." he said.
Balto nuzzled Tai. "You're such a sweet heart Tai, I love you and all your siblings so much." he said.

Kodi nodded, quickly making his way back over and to the opened grate. But just looked up, listening to the question his daughter had asked.
Kai looked back, sighing. "I'll go with you, if you don't mind, Uncle." he smiled lightly.
Katie blinked, her tai lceasing its slow movement. "It...hurts sometimes baby. I won't lie, I feel like I'm dyin' sometimes. Other times...I can't feel or hear. Like I'm apralyzed or I'm in a dream. Though, most of the time, it's like this, where it hurts, but it goes away as quick as it can." nuzzled Lena comfortingly.
Jenna chuckled, licking Cachen's nose. "We've really should have made you run, Cachen, you'd be snuggled up by Tai, asleep." she grinned.
Tai smiled, licking Balto's muzzle subconciously. She rolled over, so her wet nose poked into the thick, warm, tawny fur.

"Alright, come on." said Fang, he headed outside, the storm was still strong but his thick leg bones stablized him better, probably how his father got back to Nome in that Blizzard. "Kai, hop on my back and hang on alright?"
Lena nuzzled her momma back. "I don't like it when your hurting momma but I promise I'll help you however I can." she said.
Cachen licked Jenna on the cheek. "Yeah...Grandma, this might be a silly question but why'd you name papa Kodi?" he asked.
Balto curled around his granddaughter to keep her warm. "You're so cute." he said, licking her nose.

Kai shook his ead against the wind, almost being flipped head over heels by the strong wind. His long legs tensened and his claws extended once more to keep himself against the ground.
Katie nodded, nuzzling Lena tenderly as she spoke. "You're always so sweet, Lena, I know you'll try to help."
Jenna blinked. "Why? Well, I'm not entirely sure myself. There's a Kodiak island in Alaska. It's the same with your Aunt Aleu." she said, a bit embarassed.
Tai giggled, opening one eyes slightly as she did so. "I know, Grandpa."

Fang placed himself between Kai and the wind, blocking the pup from the wind. "Stay behind me at least, I'm better at moving through storms since I'm heavier."
Lena nodded and nuzzled her parent lovingly. She twitched her ears and looked at the open grat. "Papa, come out, I can hear you." she said.
Cachen nodded. "Makes since." he said. "Auntie Aleu? Papa mentions her sometimes, I've never met her, where is she?" he asked, ever curious.
Balto nodded. "And such a sweetheart, you're very nice Tai." he said, nuzzling Tai. "Can you not get to sleep?"

Kai nodded, trying to keep his head up and his eyes open from the wind, thankful Fang had come in front of him. Fur began to cover his silver back, but he didn't care, sicne his fur was more wolfish than anything.
Katie laughed lightly, startign to cough as her mate came from the grate, grinning comically.
Jenna nodded. "Aleu didn't belong here. So she's now the alpha of a large pack of wolves." she said, a pang of sadness in her voice. She had hoped Aleu would have come back.
Tai nodded. "I can, I just..." she looked down, once more leaning agaisnt the larger wolfdog. "I can still feel that hate. It kills me. To think someone hates you, Grandpa. Who could? You've never done anything but try to help." she relaxed her body, playing with the feathers about her neck.

"Don't worry Kai! We're not that far from the boat!" yelled Fang over the storm. "Hang on to my tail! I don't want to lose yah!"
Lena gave her mother a worried glance when Katie coughed but smiled to her papa. "Hi papa. You find out anything?" she asked. "I'll do anything to make momma better."
Cachen nodded and nuzzled Jenna comfortingly. "Its alright grandma, we all have somewhere we belong, I belong here though." he said, giggling.
Balto licked Tai on the nose. "Well you see Tai, a few dogs have bad motives, they're not like me." he said. "That mean old Steele for exsample but he's far away, you don't have to worry about him." he said.

Kai nodded, opening jaws to gently clamp down onto Fang's fluffy tail. He pinned his ears back, his tail actually curling in that husky fashion.
Katie nodded, laying herself down once more, and probably for the final time that day.
Kodi trotted up, laying down with his mate, curling about her slightly shivering body. "Well..." he leaned down, whispering in her ear. After he had, she looked at him with widened eyes, before her head collapsed down onto the softness.
Jenna nodded, nuzzling against Cachen tenderly. "Oh, what would I do without m adorable little grandson?" she asked, tail wagging to and fro. "Thank you." she said
Tai nodded, her worried expression changed to a deep red blush. "Hmm...Now I feel something else..." she giggled, actign as if Fang was right in front of her.

Fang pulled Kai onto the deck and over to the others. "Hey guys, I've got good news and bad news." he said, panting from the effort of coming through the blizzard and shaking off ice on his pelt, requiring Balto to duck some.
Lena looked a little suprise. "Sweet dreams momma..." she whispered in Katie's ear. "Papa, what's wrong? Tell me, don't lie." she said, a little sternly.
Cachen had to duck too. "Hey Fang, what's going on?" he asked.
Balto laughed at Tai. "You mean your boyfriend?" he whispered to her jokingly.

Kai, holding his stance a few more seconds, before he laid on the wooden deck of the ship. He panted lightly.
Kodi chuckled, looking at his daughter. "I won't lie to you; Momma's sickness, could kill her. But, this is a big but, there is an antitoxin, all the way in Juneau. In about 4 to 11 days, 6 at most, no antitoxin." he slid a paw across his throat.
Jenna blinked, placing a paw on Cachen's head as she ducked too. "What? What news is that?"
Tai only dodged, still blushing red. "Hi, Fang," she said, trying to sound casual. She turned to Balto, giving him a shove. "He's not my boyfriend." she grinned. "Yet." she whispered into her Grandpa's ear.

"Alright, bad news, they know what the illness is and its what I'm sure you must of considered, Diptheria, a strand that only effects purebred dogs, why Jenna's health I don't know." said Fang. "Good news, there is a cure but its all the way up in Juneau, they're planing to do the same as before only about the only ones in town that could do it are your family and me but I'm sure we can do it."
Lena gulped but then saw some hope. "We're going to go get it aren't we papa?" she asked.
Cachen whimpered but remembered to be brave. "I'll do whatever I have to to save my momma and the other dogs." he said, keeping a brave tone.
Balto chuckled at Tai before smiling to Fang. "No sweat, I've done it alone, with you guys it will be a piece of cake."

Kai was a bit shocked at Cachen's almost immeadiate answer. He crawls closer. "You're sure, Cachen?" she asked, still looking a bit skeptical.
Kodi nodded. "You bet we're going to, Lena. We're the only ones who can save this town." he stands up. "Tomorrow, it was colder then before, there might be a storm. We'll go when the weather's better." he said determinedly.
Jenna nodded, smirking at Balto with a chuckle. "Count me in then, Fang." she said, looking at both her Grandson's conversing.
Tai nodded, standing up and stretching her long legs, for some reasons a very common trait for her and her siblings. "You...said you're going right?" she asked Fang, still blushing.

Fang nodded. "Of course I am, you're the closest thing I have to family and..." he sighs. "Ever since I came here, no one but you have trusted me all because of my father's mistake, I feel like I need to make up for the things he did, he nearly cost the lives of all the children here, I'm going to make that up to the town." he said honestly.
Lena nodded. "I don't care if there's the worst blizzard in the world tomarrow, I'm going to that town and saving my momma." she said confindently. "With you and the family of course."
Cachen gentally batted his brother with his paw. "Of course, why wouldn't I? Momma needs help and so do all the dogs in town, I look like Grandpa why shouldn't I act like him?"
Balto nodded. "Fang, I don't agree that you should have to make up for that father of yours but we defiently need your help to do this." he said. "Tai, you coming?"

Kai chuckled, giving his little brother a gentle shove. "You're usually the last one to say anythign about something dangerous Cachen, that's all."
Kodi rubbed Lena's head gently. "That's my Lena!" he laughed, lickign her muzzle ever so tenderly.
Jenna grinned, pushingKai away form his brother. "Oh stop, Kai." she giggled.
Tai nodded, rubbing Balto's head as he had done to her. "If Fang's going- I'm going. Anything for Momma." she walked beside Fang, before sitting down. The blush ever deeper.
