Sara saw the wolves walking away and felt her heart rip in half. Where did she belong, with the pack or with her sister? Come to think of it...she never felt whole when she was with the pack. There was something about Kira that made Sara seemed whole, and that was the reason she had been so eager to meet her sister again.

"Tell the others where I've gone." She smiled at Kita. Then before she knew it she was running after them as fast as she could. Suddenly she caught up with them.

"WAIT!" She cried desperately. "Please....wherever you're going...can I come with you?"

Kira was about to answer Scout and Zeph, but she stopped when she heard Sara once more and just sighed in defeat. She knew that there was no stopping her older sister, so she finally turned to meet her sister face to face. "Sara," she replied, feeling the guilt spreading all over her, "you may come, but I warn you, it could be dangerous. ...And, whatever you do, don't make me angry!" And with that, she quickly turned and crossed the border lines, heading off towards the far-off mountains.

Scout padded after Kira. "So, where are we going? Or am I right and it doesn't really matter?"

Sara beamed quietly to herself. She had finally cracked her sister. She fell in step alongside the rest of them, happy to feel part of their team. It took the utmost self control to ignore the glares that Zeph was flashing her from the other side of Kira, but she managed. Kira's last statement seemed a little unusual, but she didn't let it bother her. There were other things on her mind right now......

"I heard that a small herd of caribou has moved into the area up ahead of us, so at least we will all get fed...wherever we're going......"

occ// No offense, but can you stop powerplaying me? Everytime my name pops up in your paragraph, you're making me do something that I never said I was. I never posted that I 'glared' at you. I know I probably would anyway, though , but I didn't yet, XD

bic// The black and white wolf was already acting like this was some sort of vacation. Feeling humerous and trying to make someone laugh, he was racing and chasing after butterflies, lunging at birds and missing on purpose each time.

He spotted a rabbit and chased after it, but didn't watch where he was going and ran into a tree. Dizzily he turned around with something in his jaws, but it was a stick. After crossing his eyes to see what it was, he spit it out. "Dang."

*sorry, Rowan! I wasn't really aware of it cos I'm dumb but to be fair I only think I've done it the once. The other times I only reallly meant to describe what Zeph was already doing, if I mentioned him at all. *

Sara looked ahead of her, towards the mountains. She wondered why they were going there. She didn't ask questions like Scout, her sense told her that it was better not to.

Fiata walked with the rest of the pack. She turned to Scout. "What happened back there?"


Kita watched her sister run away from her. She turned away from Sara and Kira and their new pack. Kita was the only one with a real pack. That group of dogs wouldn't last very long. Kita returned to her pack, part of her hoping never to see her sisters again, and a smaller part of her wishing the exact opposite.

Kira just sighed and shook her head, looking back towards her home before she trotted off into the mountains. "Hey Sara," she finally said after a little while. "Do you remember about the story that dad had told us about the magical lake just on the border of Canada? We were only pups then, but if I can remeber correctly..."

Sara grinned. As she had got older, she had just thought it was a myth...a fairytale to keep pups happy while they waited for the hunting party to come back. Nothing special. She stared in disbelief at Kira.

"You don't mean to say.....it's REAL??" She gasped.

Scout looekd up. "What's real?"

Kira sort of smiled and laughed at herself. "Why else wouldn't it be?" she finally replied. "Dad told us so didn't he? So, come on!" And with that, she bounded down the hill and started her journey once more.

Scout grinned nad raced after her. "Hey, wait up, Kira!"

Fiata ran with the others. A magical lake? Wow! That was definately something worth seeing, or at least investigating.

Zeph shook leaves and bark from his head, ears pricking. "Hey, wait up Kira!" He followed after the rest of them with his stomach growling lowly, angry at himself for not even sniffing out a rabbit.

Sara wagged her tail and leapt after her new friends, but doubt began to seep into the back of her mind- A magical lake? Yes, she could remeber what Father had told her now- aparrently the lake was ringed round with all sorts of curses and magical enchantments, and only the bravest and most true- hearted wolves could ever suceed in geting to it....the rest never came back home again.....
