Ugh...can't believe it. Sounds like 'TFatH2' isn't going to live up to my expectations...but oh well. I'll probably still see it anyway (as I simply love fox and the hound and I recently just saw it a few months ago after about a 10 year break.) I'm proud to say that I still love the original. But, seriously people, give some of the people at Disney a break. Just look at the Balto sequels (particularly Wolf Quest, if you will) and you'll see where I'm coming from. Only once in a great, GREAT while does a sequel actually manage to be on par with its predecesor ('Toy Story 2' 'All Dogs Go to Heaven 2' 'Ice Age 2: The Meltdown' and 'Shrek 2' are the exceptions rather than the rule.)

Also, the original had the benefit of having a skilled artisans and animators department (Don Bluth himself - creator/director of 'All Dogs Go to Heaven' and 'The Secret of NIMH' - did a few scenes before he withdrew from the Disney corporation). And this sequel is probably serving as more of a 'student film' of sorts, if you will, to teach up and coming animators how to go about making their first venture. (sad, but possible.)

However, I can say that I'm disappointed in the fact that Disney is making this a quote 'mid-quel' and not a sequel (which would have been FAR more interesting, especially if fans were allowed to submit possible plot ideas). Mid-quels often have a nasty habbit of bombing. But, take heart. There may be something to gain from the second instalment...you never know. I myself though All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 would suck and I was very, VERY wrong on that count.

Either way, I'll definately have to wait on judging this one till it comes out. Till then, I can only wait...and watch some other good sequels and Disney Movies.

It will be a completel failure I belive, we do not care about the past, I wanted too see Tod with a family not as a kid again.

I agree. That's what makes this film a "midquel" . . .

Anyway, I saw the DVD release cover for the film and it looks nice, but I'm still not convinced that it'll be any good as the original. Oh well, we have until November before we'll get the visual truth!

(Oh, and BTW, the original Fox and the Hound movie is coming to DVD (Anniversary edition, of course) in early October!
