Nate looked at her with surprise. Staying the night? Heather would probably chew him out, but he didn't care. "Yeah... Of course I will!" he said without hesitation. He didn't want her to be alone with Nick!

"Cool, you don't have to stay the whole night, just until Nick leaves.." She said thoughtfully.

Nate had intended to leave, they waited up, trying to wait for Nick to leave. But both ended up falling asleep. Now Nate slept soundly next to Beth, he had unintentionally wrapped his arm around her waist, his other arm was stretched out under her head like a pillow, and he had his own head resting on hers. Now Marshall sat up, listening quietly.

Bethany slept soundly, she didn't hear Nick's heavy foot steps, she didn't hear Marshall whimper.

The door slowly opened and Nick walked in, blinking with surprised when he first saw them. Then, undeniable, rage covered his face. Marshall began barking, but it was too late. Nick slammed the door loudly and flickered on the lights, glaring darkly at the teens.

Bethany stirred when Marshall barked, then the slam of the door shook her awake. She sat up sharply, her face paled. Nick stood at the door, rage plastered to his face like a mask. Bethany knit her eyebrows and scooted back, away from Nick, but there was no where to run.

"Uhm...Nick..let me explain.." She muttered, knowing fully well that he wouldn't listen to her.

Nate just blinked at Nick, dumbfounded, he scrambled Quickly to Beth's side, to her aid and listened as the vengeful blonde spoke.

"Shut your mouth!! What did I tell you?!" he boomed, glaring at Nate, who scooted protectively closer to Beth.

"To...never see Nate again..?" Bethany guessed, not remembering much about their talk, just about how terrified she'd been.

Nick just nodded darkly.

Nate blinked and looked at Beth, speechlessly.

Suddenly Nick lunged, and grabbed Beth by the arm.

"Beth!" Nate lunged for Nick but the man kicked him, accidentally, hitting his throat and knocking him weakly back. Then Nick slammed Beth into the wall, pinning her there, and looking coldly down at her, since he was a few inches taller.

Bethany gulped and looked at Nick, her heart beating out of her chest, "Nick..I'm sorry..." She said, wanted to get out of his grasp. "Please, let me go...Please.." She said, feeling herself tremble. She looked over at Nate, who was gripping his throat. Her jaw clenched, "Nate go, run!" She demanded, "Please! Run!" She said, wanting him out of there so Nick wouldn't be able to hurt him anymore.

Nick had officially gone crazy. Nate knew his kind as 'closet pyshcos'. Calm in appearance but crazy by nature. Nate, who couldn't yet speak, shook his head. Refusing to leave her.

"Shut up!" Nick snapped, clutching her arms tighter. "I told you to stay away from him, and what do you do?!" he growled. His expression went from rage to psychotic safety. "You're too good for a punk like that!" he said smoothly, but still clutching her deathly.

Bethany looked at the space between them, afraid, "But...you're the one who invited him to the Friday dance in the first place. I thought you wanted me to have him..?" Bethany asked, confused.

"You just don't get it do ya' dear?" He asked flirtatiously, he put his pelvis to her, forgot her harder against the wall a smiling sadisticly. "I didn't think a heartach like Nate would actually fall for you. You're not that kind of girl."

Bethany had always liked Nick some. She had always thought he was cute, and nice. But over the years, their relationship had turned into more of a brother and sister relationship. At least for Beth. Her jaw clenched and she narrowed her eyes, "Nick, don't." She said, trying to push him off of her. She didn't like him being so close to her, she didn't like his rage. She liked him when he was being normal, and nice. She didn't like this crazed man who stood before her, grinding his hips to hers. Bethany looked at him, how long had she secretly liked him? Since he had started working, for her father. She was 16 and he was 20, now she was almost 18 and he was 22. But she couldn't like him when he was like this, she'd never like this side of him. Bethany looked at the floor.

"How long have you liked me?" She asked softly.

Nate just watched silently while they spoke, Marshall at his side.

"Since that time your father had me go trail riding with you." Nick replied, despite her attempts, he Didn't move.
