The Escape *FINISHED*

"It's nothing of importance, just go!" Jocelyn hissed just as the wolves came into view. Jocelyn growled and lunged towards th wolves, knocking both into the bushes.

Somewhere deep in the forest, a young girl lay huddled up in a tight ball with her back to the tree. She shivered and held herself tighter. She could hear the faint thunds of approaching paws but she ignored it. They're too light to be a wolf... she thought to herself. With a sigh, the girl closed her eyes but reopened them when a shiver ran down her spine. I have to... she unwrapped herself and stood up. She went down on all fours, shivering and began to morph into a snow leopard.

Cassie paused and sniffed again. She caught the new, slightly unfamiliar scent that Jocelyn had pointed out, and took off again in the direction, paws thudding through the undergrowth as she bolted trough. "Hello?" She called, forgetting that she was a lynx at the moment and this new girl may not speak Cat...rather unlikely, actually.

Ben came crashing behind Cassie, large paws constantly snapping leaves and twigs, while tossing stones from one side to the other. He came abruptly to a halt as Cassie turned on him.

"Shh!" The were-lynx hissed. "She may be scared, we don't want to frighten her."

Ben, of course, could not comprehend Cat, but he could tell by the urgency of her low meows that he needed to stay put and stay quiet.

Erin shook off the thoughtg and decided to leave Jocelyn to finish them off after watching her throw them into the bushes. She quickly ran in the direction that she had indicated the girl was in. SHe stopped beside Cassie, her soft paws making almost no sound as they scrabbled in the ground to slow her down. "If she's scared, it's because of something, and I might be able to help," Erin said, hearing the last bit of Cassie's mewing. SHe walked forward, her violet eyes trained on the spot she smelled the girl in. INstead of seeing a girl behind the tree, she saw a...snow leapord. THis had to be a wereanimal lik ethem, maybe she had escaped from the orphanage, like they had. SHe didn't morph back into human, staying in cat form. "Hello," Erin said cautiously. "I'm Erin. Who are you?" she asked, her violet eyes trained on the small snow leopard, shivering.

The girl jumped and swivled her head to face a meow. For a moment, the girl just stared at the animlas. Where they were-animals too? "K-Katie," she said in a hoarse voice. It had been a while sinde she had spoken outside her head.

"Hello Katie," Erin said, her voilet eyes curious. "How did you get here?" Erin asked, deciding to find out more about the were animal, Katie. She was curious, but a bit wary. Dakota had betrayed them, Jocelyn had...done something, and Cody had betrayed them once before. IT made it hard to trust people, ecspecially new ones. But osmething about he personality was friendly, so she was going to try to get to know her, and maybe find out if she could trust her.

Katie rose to her paws weakly and sat down on her haunches. "I left," she sighed, not sure if it was a mistake or not. She had been fed and was warm in the orphanage and was taken care for, though whe was treated like a science experiment...

"We did too, but their chasing us." Erin said, looking at the small leopard, who was moving weakly. "You could, stay with us, we could help you," Erin said, blurting out the woRds before she could comrehend the results. Taking oin another responsibility, and she could be a traitor later on...you never knew...Erin shut down the thoughts, not wanting to dwell on tyhem.

"I would like that," Katie said, grinning. She then realised the wounds on Erin and stopped grinning. "What now?" she asked, looking around. The wind carried the scent of a lynx and a bear, but there was also a faint trace of human....

Erin thought about it for a moment. "Now we go see if Jocelyn is ok." she said. "Jocelyn is a girl who escaped with us," she explained.

"That would be a good idea," Cassie agreed. "I'm Cassandra Whelts, by the way. You can call me Cassie." She nodded in greeting. "Oh, and that bear over there, you needn't worry about him." She indicated Ben. "His name's Bernard, he's a nice guy. We also have Cody and Jocelyn in our group. And Sevrin," She added, remembering just in time. She smiled politely. "So!" The were-lynx said cheerfully, "Let's go!" All happiness turned to concern as she padded off towards where Jocelyn had been, Erin and Katie behind her, she assumed, though she didn't look back. She motioned Ben to follow, and the were-bear lumbered behind her.

As Sevrin searched high and low for the medical supplies he came across their old camp, maybe he can check there and see if there are any medical supplies there, he jumped down from the tree and landed with a thud, he searched everything he came across but to no avial, he had to search some place else, 'Where did Cody say he hid his supplies?" Sevrin asked himself

The strange group wandered into the clearing where they had last seen Jocelyn. And what they saw made Cassie gasp. She couldn't believe it. Jocelyn lay in a pool pf sickly crimson blood, her body tattered and mangled. "No," Cassie thought, the words becoming a screech. "NOOOO!" Her breathing and heartbeat picked up tempo as she began to panic. She leaned down. "Jocelyn, wake up," She begged softly. "Please, wake up..." She began frantically licking the open wound that the wolves must have left. Alas, it was to no avail.

Ben morphed back to a human, walking up behind Cassie, glancing solemnly at Jocelyn's torn flesh and ripped clothing. He closed his eyes, allowing a few tears to escape his eyes in mourning.
