"He need not apologize to me. For what he has said to me he won't say again, he knows what'll happen if he does." Loki said. Loki saw Zasshu fall, he quickly notified Cheyanne about, who told Shinso and the others..

Zasshu was nearly passed out, but not quite. More like lethargic. The last thing he saw was Loki, Marshall, Cheyanne, Shinso, Markus, and Rukii surround him, Cheyanne being the closest one to him. She leaned down toward him, then everything went black.

Cheyanne looked him over, then frowned at Marshall. Loki had left the small group, heading back to the den to watch the two month old pups. He curled around them, keeping them warm for the time being. They cried for their mother but got their father instead. He was there and he wasn't going to leave them. Cheyanne knew where he'd gone off to, and thanks to him she didn't have to worry about them when she was gone.

Cheyanne quickly turned and glared at Marshall, she slapped him without a second thought. His frail build falling over at the large, paw that smug at him.

Marshall stood slowly, now left with bleeding claw marks on the left side of his face, which would soon become an identical scar to Zasshu's.

"Mom I'm sorry! I - I didn't mean it, I didn't mean to hurt him! I thought he was a rouge..."

Zasshu groaned in pain, coming back into consciousness, and looking up at Cheyanne with his one eye that wasn't missing.

"Cheyanne..." he said, while his other empty eye socket was slowly bleeding out.

Cheyanne looked back at Zasshu. "Yes?" she asked, a plain facial expression turn to an aggressive looking one, making her seem like she didn't care. She waited for an answer.

"I'm sorry." Zasshu said. "For this whole mess." Zasshu slowly stood, as the bleeding seemed to slow down some.

"This won't happen again." he said, glaring directly at Marshall. Marshall hung his head, and walked away back toward the pack, followed by Shinso, Markus, and Rukii.

Zasshu looked Cheyanne in the eye confidently, refusing to show weakness.

Cheyanne watched as the pack sowly made their way back to the den, where they would stay until her two month old pups were old enough to hunt for the pack.

Cheyanne began licking Zasshu's face, close to the socket; slowing the bood flow even more. The two finally made their way back to the entrance of the den. Everyone was seemingly enjoying the conversations each were sharing. Loki and Marshall also seemed to be hitting it off the most. Cheyanne scooted close to Marshall licking where she had slapped him. "Sorry.." she said in his ear. He nodded, Loki looked around Marshall's head, looking directly at Cheyanne. "Glad you're home, the puppies are starting to get hungry. " Cheyanne licked Loki's nose, he quickly left the pile off warm fuzz balls and shook himself.

Cheyanne lowered herself to the ground. The odd pup with the white paws was the first to crawl over. Loki and Cheyanne agreed to call her Shaint.

Zasshu sat by himself, watching Shaint from a distance. He looked down and closed his eyes. When he looked up again, one of the female wolves approached him with her ears back and a nervous smile on her face.

"Hi..." she said, timidly.

"Hi." Zasshu replied, smiling back.

Cheyanne licked Shaint and her small form toppled over. Cheyanne knew this was the last day they would need milk. After all, they were nearly three months old. The shoulda stopped a month ago.. Cheyanne stopped watching her pups and looked over at Zasshu, a female wolf and him engaging conversation.

"What's your name?" the female wolf asked.

"I am Zasshu. And your name?"

"My name's... Jess."

"Nice to meet you, Jess." Zasshu said, giving her a toothy smile, only one fang popping out.

The female wolf, Jess, circled Zasshu a single time, looking him over and catching herself a whiff of his scent. Once she finished circling him, she sat back down in front of him, but this time rather close.

"Umm... you don't look or smell all wolf." Jess commented.

"No." Zasshu looked down, a little ashamed. "I am afraid I am half dire wolf, and half... arctic fox."

"Hmm. Well, don't look so ashamed about it. It's who you are." Jess chuckled, then slowly slid her tail under his chin. "In fact, I think you look a little more fox than wolf, and I find your foxish side very handsome." she giggled, scooting closer to him. "You're quite the charmer, huh Zasshu? I like that." she said the last part quietly, next to his ear.

Zasshu suddenly felt a tad bit uncomfortable, yet flattered at this same time.

"You're quite... um, charming yourself." Zasshu answered.

Zasshu looked over at Cheyanne, who happened to be looking straight at him. He thought about how she might feel watching this. However, he had been slowly losing hope for the longest time that she would ever take him back. And honestly, he didn't know if she even loved him anymore. Of coure he loved her, he loved her more than life itself, ever since the day she first asked to be his mate, down by the riverbed in the mountain lands.

He remembered their secret cave where they would mate, he was always be there every time she birthed him a litter, he remember how innocent she looked while she would sleep, he remered raising each pup he had with her, he remember going through everything in life together with her. He wondered where those days had gone, what had happened, what had gone wrong. What had he done wrong? Maybe he upset her somehow, maybe he didn't give her enough attention, maybe he wasn't romantic enough for her, maybe he had let her down somehow. Or maybe... he was just never good enough for her. She was so beautiful, and he was just... a disgusting, miserable mutt. No wonder she didn't love him.

As much as Zasshu hoped and wished and prayed it wasn't true, that none of it was true, that she did indeed still love him, he just didn't know anymore. She had left him as his mate without even telling him. She had mated with a stranger, and he never knew. She had gotten pregnant, and he was not the father, when he wanted to be. And that had completely torn him apart. If only she knew how much she had hurt and betrayed him. Oh, if only she knew. So it all must be true, after all. After all she'd done to break him, she must not have loved him the way he loved her. The way he still loved her, and always would love her. Oh, how he dreaded the very thought of it being true. If it all were true, then he would... just fall apart. But whether it was true or not, he just couldn't live like this anymore. It all just hurt too much.

"Um, Zasshu? Are... you okay?" Jess asked, interrupting Zasshu's train of thought.

Zasshu sighed deeply, closing his eyes. He then looked away from Cheyanne and back to Jess.

"I'm fine. It's nothing." Zasshu gave her a warm smile. "I was just thinking... to myself. And, I find you're rather entrancing yourself."

Cheyanne wasn't staring at Zasshu; she was staring at the female wolf. "Who is she?" Cheyanne asked Loki, who's face was buried in a hare carcass. He looked up at her, then around the den to look for the she Cheyanne spoke off. "Who?" "Her, the wolf with Zasshu." Loki turned his head, facing Zasshu. "I'm not sure. Is she one of his relatives?" "No. She isn't part of his family. Or mine." "So she just came into our den?" Loki asked, lips curled up. "I guess so. I've never seen her. Rukii, Markus, and Shinso are out hunting. And Marshall's asleep." "So?" he cocked an eyebrow. " So......... they're the only other ones in his family. At least here. His first mate, Kamui died, and my first pack, with most of his family and mine in it also died. S-" "So let me get this straight," Loki interrupted, 'Most of his and your family are dead, you've never seen her, and I've never seen her...." He paused. Cheyanne, wide-eyed, move her head in a 'please continue' motion. "Wait, I MUST have this wrong... " he playfully smirked. "Loki...." Cheyanne swat his chest with the back of her paw. "Alright, I go deal with her." "No!" Loki stopped and turned back to Cheyanne. "What?" "I'll go deal with her. Stay over here." Loki nodded slightly and made his way back.




Cheyanne stepped over her pups, carefully she placed her paws on the ground, looking back to make sure she wouldn't hit or step on them.
Cheyanne stepped in front of the female, she was now in-between Zasshu and her. "Who are you?" she growled quietly.

The female wolf only glared at Cheyanne. Zasshu twitched one ear slightly.

"Is she not in this pack?" he asked.

"No she's not. She apparently walked into our den. Who are you and why are you here? You had ten seconds to get out or you die here. bitch." Cheyanne snarled, looking at the wolf who dared to enter a den clearly taken.

Zasshu peered over Cheyanne at Jess.

"Is it true?" Zasshu asked her, then frowned and bared his fangs at her. "How dare you!"

"My name's Jess, bitch." Jess answered Cheyanne with a growl, then turned to Zasshu. "And what's your problem, Zassh? And to think, I thought we were hitting it off pretty well." Jess smirked.

At hearing Jess call Cheyanne a bitch, Zasshu snarled.

"Don't you DARE call Cheyanne a bitch you ****!" Zasshu spat, before attacking Jess, wrestling her to the ground and tearing at her throat.

Cheyanne grabbed Jess's throat and bit down harder each time she moved. She couldn't see that Zasshu was working on some other part of her body. Jess retreated. Since she was clearly outnumbered. Cheyanne quickly gave chase to the female. Taking her down and lunging for her throat again. "I gave you ten seconds to leave. And you didn't." Cheyanne pinned her down, looking her straight in the eyes. "What kind of wolf just wonders into a another's den and thinks she can stay there?" No answer. "Oh well, you asked for it." Cheyanne bit down on her throat a final time and blood gushed out, and splattered both Cheyanne's and Jess's face with blood. Cheyanne looked back to the den, blood dripped from her muzzle. "Never underestimate the alpha female. A bitch I may be, but a pretty badas* one." Cheyanne said to no one, Jess's limp body made it clear to everyone who saw that Cheyanne wasn't playin' around.


"Sorry you had to see that, Zasshu." She said, looking at her muzzle, which also had blood in it. She walked back into the den. It was all fuzzy to her; wear did Zasshu attack Jess?' She thought to herself. 'Not that it matters, I just took it over completely my self.' she added into her thoughts, lying down next to her pups. Loki licked the blood off her muzzle. Once he was done her muzzle was only stained with red.
