"Trey! Trey I'm falling! Please Trey, please don't let me go! Please!" Astrid sobbed as she held tightly to his hand. But no matter how tightly she held, he was loosening that grasp, and she was slowly slipping away. She glanced over her shoulder, below her, on the ground swarmed the tracker-jackers. She couldn't tell what they where doing to those corpses, and she didn't care. All Astrid knew was that she didn't want to meet that fate, she could almost imagine how those stings must feel. She yelped as her hand slipped suddenly, now Trey's hand only wrapped around her fingers, and she could feel them slipping fast. She wasn't ready. She wasn't ready to die, or to loose the sweet peasant boy from district 12... though he refused to look at her. So, she cried:
"Trey! Please! I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! I didn't mean to shoot you! I was just trying to survive! I'm a fake! I'm not the strongest bada** in district 3! I'm scared! I'm so scared!...Trey, please! I'm not ready to die, I'm not! And I'm not ready to loose you! I like you! L-love-I love you, Trey Winchester! I said it, for anyone watching this: I love, district 12's, Trey Winch-" Astrid screamed as her hand slipped out of his but was quickly grabbed again, firmly this time. Astrid's blue eyes instantly looked up connecting with the neon blue hues of her love. She smiled as she took in his sight. His slightly tanned skin and sunburned cheeks. Along with his black hair, always spiked up in the front, his spiked bangs dyed that familiar maroon red. She returned to reality just as he spoke.
"Stop screaming, you dumb blonde twit!" he snapped, though that sounded offensive Astrid could only smile wider as he continued. "I would never let you fall!" he was yelling, though it wasn't in an angry manner.
Astrid whimpered as he pulled her up, and with one good kick off the trunk, she was able to sit back on the branch with Trey, crying happily now as she looked at him. He simply gave her an emotionless look. "Stop crying, you're fine." he said bluntly, but out of no where he'd moved in to kiss her.
Astrid didn't dare move, she didn't even react in fear that the soothing feeling would be ripped away from her. Like the sixteen year old was ripped from her father's arms. She broke the kiss a moment looking at him and nodding "I'm fine..." she brushed back her sandy blonde bangs. "...now."

He really just wanted Bruce. He wanted his adoptive father to be there, to assure him that everything would be okay, even if it wasn’t, because he was Bruce and he would make it okay. Though Dick’s heart ached for his father to come, his mind insisted that wouldn’t happen; Dick had covered his tracks well, and Cadmus had done the same. Bruce wouldn’t be finding him.
Dick was stuck here, in these nightmarish labs, doomed to be tortured until there was nothing left.
