Zasshu's ears perked, hearing Cheyanne's howl. Apparently Loki was after him. Zasshu huffed. He wasn't afraid of Loki, and if Loki thought he was weak and puny, he would learn otherwise. So Zasshu stayed in his spot on the cliff.

It didn't take long for Loki to find him, Zasshu's scent was not hard to miss. "Hey!" he shouted to get the wolf's attention.
"Over here dirt bag." Loki snarled, legs parted and ready to pounce if needed. He was built like a tank.

Zasshu stood up, then approached Loki, stopping just a few feet in front of him.

"Yes, Alpha?" Zasshu said, fake-respectfully.

" Oh, shut up half breed. " Loki snarled. "Why'd you leave? We could use the help you know. When I'm not around you could help Cheyanne."

"Calm down, Loki." Zasshu said. "It's not like I've left for good. I just... needed to think."

Just then, a black as night wolf approached him from behind.

"Zasshu." the wolf said.

Zasshu immediately recognized him.

"Shinso?!"

"Alright." Loki answered.

"Who is that?" Loki said, a growl forming in his throat.

"That is my brother. Shinso, what are you doing here?"

"Zasshu," Shinso said. "There was a fire. Hunters. The whole land was burned. No one survived... but us." Shinso looked back over his shoulder.

"Us? Who's with you?" Zasshu asked.

The rest appeared behind Shinso. Markus, their brother, Rukii, their sister, and one of Zasshu's sons - Marshall.

"We're all that's left." Shinso said.

Zasshu lowered his head in mourning, the turned back to face an angry Loki.

"Please don't hurt them. They're my family." Zasshu said.

"They can stay with the pack for a while. but when I say they have to go, they have to go. Not far away but at lease out of the territory borders." Loki said, eyeing the others. Loki then spotted Marshall. He was medium sized, but looked strong. Loki turned to leave. "C'mon. Let's go. If you don't want me hurting them I suggest we get to work."

Zasshu gestured his siblings and his son to follow, and started trotting behind Loki. The others looked at each other, then followed after Zasshu and Loki.

Loki entered the den, making towards Cheyanne. She was cleaning her puppies off again. "Loki." she said, greeting him. "Zasshu." she then greeted Zasshu. More wolves entered. "Shinso? Rukii?" she tilted her head, eyeing the two. Then a third wolf entered. "Markus? Why are all of you here?"

"There was a fire, Cheyanne." Shinso spoke. "We're the only survivors. Us, and yours and Zasshu's son, Marshall."

Markus and Rukii stepped aside as Marshall entered the den.

"Mom..." Marshall said, spotting Cheyanne. He saw the pups, and his smile faded into a grim line.

Loki growled at Marshall. "Your his mom?" Cheyanne nodded. "It's fine. What Marshall?"

"Where were you?" Marshall asked Cheyanne. Marshall then looked at Zasshu. "Dad, where have you and Mom been? We looked all over for you for months! We thought hunters got you! We thought we lost you both forever!"

Marshall then glared at Loki and growled.

"And who the hell is this guy? What the hell is going on?!"

"Marshall, watch your tone." Zasshu scolded. "Do not speak to Alphas that way. I raised you better than that, my son."

"But Dad, this guy took Mom from you!"

"I-I don't... know what you're talking about."

"Please Dad, I'm not stupid. Those aren't your pups, are they?"

"No."

"Then whose are they?"

"They're Alpha Loki's."

"You mean that scum bag over there?!"

"Marshall! What did I just say? Do NOT speak to him that way!"

"What is WRONG with you? Mom had pups with him, and you're OKAY with that?!"

"Of course I'm not! She mated with him and never told me. And make me have to tell you again, HOLD YOUR TONGUE. Show Alpha Loki your respect."

Marshall stared at Cheyanne in disbelief, not believing that she would do that. He shot his mother a disappointed glare, then turned around and bolted out of the den with a loud snarl in anger. Zasshu gave Loki an apologetic bow for his son's disrespectful outburst, then ran out of the den after Marshall.

Shinso, Markus, and Rukii were all that remained in the den with Loki and Cheyanne, feeling rather awkward and out of place. Deciding to mind their own business, the stepped out of the den as well.

Zasshu finally caught up to Marshall a mile away into the woods. Marshall was furious, growling and snarling and raking his claws into all the trees around him, making deep gouges in the bark of each tree, sap oozing out of Marshall's deep claw marks.

"Marshall!" Zasshu called, pouncing on Marshall to try and stop his frenzy. Thinking a rouge was attacking him, Marshall countered Zasshu with a swat to the face, his claws raking deep gashes across the left side of Zasshu's face as he slammed into the ground. Marshall was about to rip out his throat when he suddenly realized who it was.

"Dad!" Marshall gasped.

Loki snarled and chased after the pup. It didn't take long for him to find Zasshu on the ground and the pup just standing there. Loki went after the pup. He'd show him a thing or two about calling him a 'scum bag'. Loki bound over Zasshu, not caring if he was dead, because he knew he wasn't. But he would take care of this weakling of a pup first. Then tend to Zasshu if he hadn't gotten up by then. "Come here, and quiet your weeping." Loki watched the pup squirm and try to break away, lying on his side, showing his submissive side. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, I'm sorry." Marshall covered his face with his paw. Loki ran over and began nipping at his paw, trying to get a hold of at least his ear. Marshall cried out, and began kicking his attacker's chest. Loki's size and mass was no match for Marshall's slim, puppy like figure. Marshal was a teen after all.

Loki stopped biting so hard and began nipping again. Only making little pinches here and there. Loki stopped and looked at the squirming pup. Marshall looked from behind his paw. Dark green eyes shot at his face. "You done?" Loki asked him. Marshall quickly nodded, to prevent from being bit again. Although Marshall was not hurt, and no blood was drawn, Loki wasn't all play, and he wasn't about to start. Marshall waited for Loki's sharp, dagger like teeth to be hidden by his lip; which was curled up to a sneer nearly, and his dark green gaze to fall elsewhere but him. Loki looked over to Zasshu, who was getting up. Loki questioned what had made him go down. Marshall was about to get up when Loki shot him another dead look. Marshall quickly covered his face again. Loki just stood there, looking back at Zasshu, waiting for an answer.

Loki noticed all the tares in the tree's trunks; he knew Marshall had done it. Loki then winced in pain; Marshall had swat his open and venerable neck. Making a run for it he was caught by a large weight; Loki. He began biting all over him this time. Holding him down with his hind feet. Loki bit him and gently swat him with his left paw, making the pain sear through both the spots Marshall was bitten in and the side of his face; where Loki had hit repeatedly. He stopped. Looking at the pup once more. "I hope I don't have to my self clear again." Loki curled his lip, then clashed his teeth together, rather close to Marshall's nose but not intentionally snapping his face. Loki then removed his hind feet from the pups abdomen, leaving the pup there, eyes closed and paws over face.

"Alpha Loki, may I have a word with my son please?" Zasshu said.

Loki stepped aside, and Zasshu stood looking down at Marshall.

"Marshall, I am very disappointed in you. You know better."

"I know..." Marshall said submissively, slowly standing up with his tail between his legs.

"What on earth had gotten into you back there?" Zasshu asked.

"I'm sorry Dad, I... I just got so mad. Dad, do you remember when I was little, when you told me that you and Mom would always be there for me? Why did mom leave?"

"I don't know, Marshall. But she is your mother. You are not to question her."

Marshall looked up at him.

"Why did you go with her after she mated with someone else and never told you?"

"Because, Marshall. I still love her, even though she betrayed my trust. It does not change the fact that I love her. And I promised her long ago, when we first became mates, that I would always love her, defend her, and fight for her until the day that I die. And I am a wolf of my word, so I am going to do exactly that. I may not ever be able to trust her again, but I still love her, and I will love her until my very last breath. You will understand someday, Marshall, what love is."

"But Dad... don't you want to know why she did that to you?"

"Marshall." Zasshu looked away sadly. "Things change, even though we may not like it. I'll never know unless she tells me herself. I hope she does, but I won't pry her. If she decides to tell me is up to her."

Marshall looked down and flattened his ears. "I'm sorry I hit you. I didn't know it was you."

"I forgive you. But I'm not the one you really need to apologize to."

Zasshu motioned to Loki, and Marshall bowed to Loki respectfully.

"I'm sorry, Alpha Loki." Marshall said.

Zasshu fell over in the snow, passed out from loss of blood. Marshall, when he hit Zasshu, had unknowingly gouged out Zasshu's left eye.
