Hailey pins her ears back. She slowly followed behind Denno.

"Come on, Lady," the woman addressed Hailey and walked back into the house. After putting the child down she returned to hold the door open for the two dogs.

Hailey looks at the person. She followed Denno.

"My owner," Denno explained. "She's a veterinarian so I think you'll be feeling better in no time."
He sat down on a large velvet pillow and tilted his head to the other side. "She'll be back with a kit in a moment, so sit here, Hailey."

Hailey looks at him and sat down.

Soon, Denno's owner came into the room with gauze and some small, wet towels to wipe away the blood from Hailey and Denno. After that was done, she put gauze on Hailey's wounds.

Hailey whimpers a little in pain

"There's a good girl," Denno's owner said and finished patching up the last wound.
"Denno," she said. "You have to make sure your lady friend stays out of trouble, now." The woman packed her stuff up and left the room.

Hailey lays down.

Denno shifted his weight then the little boy crawled up to him. The dog smiled and licked the child's hand, causing him to laugh.

Hailey smiles...She felt like she had a family but she had to go home to her abusive family. Which she hated

Denno allowed the child to pull his ears. He winced a bit, but didn't bite him.

Hailey smiles."Thank you Denno."She said.

"It's no problem," Denno replied, realizing that his owner's son had fallen asleep on his paws. Denno gently placed his head on the boy's.

Hailey looks at Denno then at the little boy.
