Balto nodded, smiling as one of the female wolf-like pups climbed up on Jenna's back and whimpered, unsure of where she should go. He picked her up by the scruf and set her down with her brothers and sister. "That one's adventurious, isn't she?"

Cachen nodded. "I know, it was really awful..." he said, giving a whine. "But at least it was just a dream."

Fang blinked, looking around. "Who are you talking to?"

Twilight chuckled. "Thanks, you look as strong as ever, but...how'd you survive?" he asked. "We thought you were..."

"What should we name her?" asked Balto, the little pup cuddling up to her mother's neck.

Cachen nodded. "Yeah, I know, and I'm glad about that."

Lenatai appeared. "Here I am Fang."

Fang jumpped back in suprise. "Wow...so she's an angle?"

Twilight chuckled. "Been doing my best, glad to have you back." he said, walking up to get a closer look but recoiling and put his paw over his nose. "Peeyew!...Let me guess, skunk?"

Balto nodded. "Denali, I like that name." he said, then looked down at the little red female trying to climb out. He carefully picked her up and put her back where she was safe. "Looks like another adventurious one, just what we needed, another Tai and Lena."

Cachen giggled, snuggling her back. "I love you Goldie.

"He's at the pack, sweetheart." said Lenatei. "Twilight is the alpha." she explained, Twilight had been a very kind wolf to Katie, even when she'd been discovered to have fallen for a dog.

Rosie's father came out. "Alright everyone, let's get you inside and wash you off." he said to the dogs, knowing skunk smell was much worse to a dog. He went over to Katie, knowing she was cautious. "Don't worry girl." he said, petting her. "You might be a wolf, but you're no different now than when we thought you weren't...and to disguise yourself as a dog makes you pretty smart." he said, running his hand over her shoulder and finding the scar Mako had left. He gasped, coming to a realization. "They went all that way, just to save you, didn't they?" he asked, smiling, knowing Balto had traveled, by himself, over the frozen Alaska thundra in a blizzard to save Rosie, so this didn't suprise him at all.

"Katie? How's she doing?" asked Twilight. "During that disease outbreak, some humans came and cured the pack, saying the pups that helped save Nome's dogs were the children of a wolf so they were returning the favor."

Balto nuzzled his little daughter to reassure her. "How about Blaze for her name? She was the first to try to get out and blaze a trail."

Rosie's father nodded. "Don't worry, it's over now, you're safe." he said. "Now come in side and we'll clean you up."

Cachen smiled, cuddling close to her.

Twilight snarled. "Evil man..." he said. "But at least the devil will get his due."

The wolf-like male crawled up to Jenna's neck and worked his way under and cuddled close.

"I think that one really likes his momma." said Balto, smiling.

Rosie's father lead all the dogs, except Balto, letting him be with his mate, into the house. "Alright, let's get that skunk smell off you guys."

Cachen looked to Goldie. "Which one of us should go first?"

Twilight chuckled. "Being an alpha can do that to you." he said, smiling. "Good to see you again to."

Jenna smiled, cuddling the little male fondly. "He kind of reminds me of Cachen." she said softly.


The other male nosed into his red-furred sister, both of them rolling around for a moment, crying out loud.


Katie followed, Kodi there to support her weak frame.


Goldie smiled. "I don't mind you going in before me, Cachen."

Balto nodded. "Yeah, true..." he said, smiling. "Now he just needs a name."

Denali crawled over and jumpped onto her brother and Blaze, nipping her brother's ears, wanting to play.

Rosie's mother came over, giving Katie a steak. "You've been through a lot, you need to eat."

"Alright, but you next, ok?" asked Cachen. He walked over to Rosie's father, who picked him up and started washing the skunk spray off.

Twilight looked over to the Gamma wolf, it was one of the wolves that had played a role in them unknowingly leaving Bashkei for dead. "Remember him? He told us he'd saw you get killed, I can't help wondering if he lied on purpose." he said, it was known this wolf had a strong dislike for Bashkei, it wasn't a stretch.

Jenna smiled at the blind little pups, grinning wide. "Why not Kenai? Call ihm Ken for short..." she said. She had doen the same to Aleu and Kodi. She blushed whenshe didn't remember why. "What about this other one.?" she asks, looking up at Balto expectantly.


The little male cried out and tried to gain the upper hand of his two sisters.



Katie blinked, sniffing the steak. She looked up at Rosie's mother, before taking a bite out. Her sotmach clenched and gurgled, and she was reminded how hungry she was.


Goldie sat by rosie's fathe,r and wagged her tailo. she leans up, lookign at Cachen with a giggle.


Bashkei cocked an eyebrow, looking very angry. Howeve,r he grinned evilly. "Well, there's no room for someone like that." he said, a hint of a growl in his voice.

Balto smiled at the little pup. "Reminds me a bit of Tiga...how about Derbin?" he asked. "Seems like we've got a theme naming going with our kids, after islands, Derbin is an island near Tigalda, the one we named Tiga after."

Fang smiled. "Eat up Katie, you're safe now."

Cachen chuckled, wagging his tail. "You're next." he asked, tomato juice dripping off him as he was washed.

Twilight nodded. "No proof, but he doesn't know you're still alive, why don't you go talk to him? Not threaten, just show him you're back. If he acts scared, that should be some proof."

Balto nodded. "Sounds good, though I should proably go wash the skunk smell off first."

Fang blinked. "What trick?" he asked, concerned.

Rosie's father picked Goldie up and started washing her.

"You will too soon," giggled Cachen.

Twilight smiled. "To be honest, I always felt being Alpha was your job anyway, I just felt like a place holder till one of your kids or grandkids could take over."
