"You think you can drag around just anyone?!" Ellis flamed. "This is serious! News flash, buddy; it may be all about you in your little "Damien-world" but this is real, and leaving them here is the best option for everyone!"
Kyler heard the heated conversation from afar, and she couldn't bear to listen any longer about Damien leaving. She wrapped her arms around her legs and buried her face in them.

Ellis answered with out looking away from Damien, "Because they could end up getting hurt."
"But we could protect them!" Tara proclaimed. "We do have power you know."

Ellis turned back to Damien and ignored Tara. "Do you want their lives uprooted too?" he asked. "You and I both know that she won't last long anyway." he nodded over to Kyler, who still had her head down on her knees.

Ellis saw the punch coming and tried to move out of the way, but Damien's fist still brush-hit his jawline. Ellis stumbled backwards a few steps, glaring hatefully at him. "You have no idea." he snarled at him, wincing at the bruise he had just received. "Trust me when I say that once she discovers the b*****d you really are, she'll be gone in a heartbeat."

Ellis started to stomp after Damien, but Carmen grabbed the back of his collar. "Oh no you don't." she growled.
Kyler was startled by the spontaneous shouting, and her head shot back up and saw Damien angrily walking away from the group. Without thinking, she stood up and hurried over to him, stopping him in his tracks. "What happened?" she asked frantically. "What's wrong?"
