Meike smiled and decided it was itme when Steele receeded in the crowd. A soft breeze blew over, and Meike appeared bside Steele. "Aw, I saw the whole thing..." she murmured, looking concerned. "You okay?"
Goldie nodded, but kept her head turned ot where Steele backed off into the crowd. She turned to Mr. simpson, her eyes already sad. She whimepred lightly, trying to help. She nuzzled Cachen, ears pinned back.
Kodi chuckled, jerking his head ot the two pups. "They have it covered, cute things."
Tai gasped. "Lena! You just saw someone pour his heart out!" she said, surprised. "That's better than seeing some silly city."

Steele looked at her, still depressed. "Goldie...I guess I just realized how attatched I've become to her." he said. "And now she's going away with her soulmate...but that's not all...Meike...I should've treated her better...I should of treated her so much better..." he said, sobbing.
Cachen nuzzled her back and then looked to Mr. Samson, whining again.
"Yeah...I never thought I'd see Steele here...but for once I'm glad to have seen him." said Balto, truthfully.
Lena whined, feeling rotten how she'd acted. "Gee...way to make me feel guilty sis..." she muttered, looking like she felt just awful, and she did.

Meike wished she could have touched Steele, just to comfort him. "But, she's leaving with her heart in pieces-you're not exactly alone. Besides, you're a good Daddy...to a girl, that is, Cain is...awful." she shuddered. The little vixen smiled. "She adores you, and you plucked her from death, don't you remember how you found her?"
Mr. Simpson kneeled down, touching Goldie gently. "Hey pretty girl," he said, and checked her out. "Stray huh? Wanna come?" he smiled at Goldie's reluctant nod.
Jenna smiled. "I know how he feels-to lose a daughter..." she remembered how she cried when she found out Aleu was never coming back.
Tai smiled. "You know I didn't mean it like that- you were just jazzed about being the capital."

Steele nodded. "Yeah...it was right after I decided to change...she was as young as those pups were when I first saw them...which convinced me to change..." he said. "She was half straved and shivering, poor thing." he said. "At least I did the right thing...that time...but I shouldn't have been mean to her, I should've stopped Cain from being mean to her..."
Cachen smiled and barked his thanks, little tail wagging rapidly.
"So do I...at least Aleu's come back a few times..." said Balto. "She's a wonderful girl."
Lena nodded. "Well at least we saw some of it." she said, looking around.

Meike smiled. "And you remember what you did? you took her by the scruff and wrapped yourself around her to stop her from freezing. Until then you kept rejecting my help. That little girl was a miracle. And you are a miracle for her, she would've died without you." a sadness washed over her. "You thought she wouldn't affect you, and so you treated her as you and your son treated each other." she looked up happily. "It was a mistake."
Mr. simpson smield and picked Goldie up. "You'll be a backup, and ride in the sled." he told her, going over and setting her in the sled behind the medicine. He called the rest of the dogs to get harnessed up.
Kodi looked to Fang. "Good day huh?" he asked
Jenna nodded and looked down at her belly. "We'll let them follow their own paths."
Tai laughed and nodded, walking over to the sled when Mr. Simpson called.

Cachen nuzzled Goldie. "I hope you enjoy the ride, just be careful not to fall off." he said, concerned for his girlfriend.
Steele nodded. "Yeah, it was..." he said. "But at least she's with someone that can teach her what I couldn't." he said. "...And with the guy that'll love her..." he said. "Is it wrong to think I disowned the wrong son now?" he asked, feeling guilty. "I just feel so proud of Fang and so disappointed of Cain."
Fang nodded, walking over to be hooked up. "Never thought I'd see my dad here, let alone see that the good part of him I always thought was in him come out."
Balto nodded, heading over. "That's what we should always do."
Lena trotted over as well. "And we'll be able to save momma."

Goldie kissed his nose. "i'll be fine, Cachen." she grinned, still sad.
Meike smiled. "Better late than never, kiddo." she smirked at him, feeling silly for calling him 'kiddo'. "Fang is a wodnerful boy...and he'll take care of goldie. They have each other now. Your was clouded when it happened-but he met a very nice wolf, and those pup's Mother." she giggled "You should be proud, he's even promised himself to that little red furred pup." of course, she meant Tai.
Kodi nodded. "I'm happy for you and your Dad, Fang." he said "I'm sorry I doubted your Father."
Jenna nodded and stood at her place, being tied to the sled by Mr. Simpson.
Tai giggled and nodded. "And just in time."

Cachen nodded and kissed her back, blushing. "Oh and one more thing I should tell you...just so you know." he said, embaressed. "I'm kinda...I've got hemophobia...I'm terrified of blood." he said. "I've even thrown up from just seeing a little." he said, very embaressed about that.
Steele blinked. "Well he's got good taste, that little girl's beutiful." he said. "...Though obviously me trying to forcebreed her was just plain wrong, I get that now, Steele doesn't need to force her." he said. "She must love him."
"Its ok, I doubted him too." said Fang. "I'm glad he's changed his ways, I just wish my half-brother would."
"That's what Steele did for Goldie." said Balto. "And I'm glad he did."
Lena nodded. "I'm glad to meet Goldie too." she said. "She's a nice girl."

Goldie giggled and blushed. She nuzzled him as soon as she heard about his hemophobia. "Don't worry-I'll help you anway I can."
"She will be a gorgeous lady." said Meike. "And she loves him, as much as Cachen loves Goldie." she grinned "Your family is irresistable."
Kodi shook his head. "I know he won't...that I know." he said, ears going back.
Jenna smiled sadly. "I saw tears in his eyes when she said goodbye..."
Tai nodded, smiling wide as she was tied to the sled, and then Kai, who had not said anything in a while. "I am too, she's good for Cachen."

Steele nodded. "I would've been, had I been truthful."
Cachen nodded. "Thanks, I was born with it for some reason." he said. "Anyway, better go get hooked up." he said, heading for his spot. "See you later Goldie."
Fang nodded. "His name is fitting." he said, refering to the origin of Cain's name, the Biblical Cain that despised his brother.
"That means he did his job as a adoptive father." said Balto. "He loved her."
"Yeah, I can't wait for momma to meet her." said Lena. "Goldie, want to stay with Cachen and our momma in our den? It's warm and momma's wonderful."

Meike laughed lightly and smiled. "You will find a girl who near worships you."
Goldie giggled. "Bye Cachen." she said, and leaned close to Lena to hear her. "Hmm? I'll go anywhere if Cachen's there! And I'm sure your Momma is wonderful."
Kodi nodded and held himself still as he and Fang were harnessed to the sled. "He won't ever change."
Jenna smiled. "I'm glad Steele found something that changed him."

"I hope...could you help me find Sable?" asked Steele, refering to Fang's biological mother. "I know she may not still want me but I want her to at least know I'm sorry for what I did...and where Fang is...she loves Fang with all her heart, I know she does, she deserves to know he's safe and happy."
Lena nodded. "She is, she's wonderful." she said. "She'll love you." she said.
Fang licked Samson's hand as he harnessed him.
Balto nodded. "Always a good thing." he said. "I hope Steele finds happyness in his life."

Meike smiled. "I've been keeping tabs on Sable for a while. I've seen your loneliness. It would be good for both of you to see one another again." she winked softly "I'm always there you, kiddo." she laughed inwardly, even though she was some twenty years older than he was, the size of them both made her laugh.
Goldie nodded. "I hope so, it sounds like Cachen's very close to her." she said, nervous about meeting Katie.
Mr. Simpson smiled and rubbed Fang's head, before moving onto to strapping Balto and then the two girls in. He checked each harness, to make sure they were all secure.
Jenna nodded, still feeling a pang of sadness. "He will, if he keeps on the road he's on."

"Thanks, that'd be nice...and maybe she could straighten Cain out." said Steele. "She's good at that kinda stuff."
"Momma cares for anyone that's kind." said Lena, smiling.
When he strapped Cachen in, he pointed back to Goldie and then looked at Mr. Samson, his eyes saying 'please make sure she's safe.'
Balto nodded. "And we're headed for more happyness to." he said, looking at Jenna's stomach, knowing his pups were in there.
