Cheyanne nuzzled Zasshu, then glanced back at Ghost. A quiet, wheezing breathe came from the den. They could easily see that her chest was moving, but her ribs could be seen even more. Her pups were shivering in the dark corner. Cheyanne lifted herself up and into the den, making towards Ghost. Looking her in the eyes, Cheyanne tilted her head back and forth. "Ghost...?" She opened one eye, looking up at Cheyanne. "Take my pups........ Away.." she said softly. Cheyanne nodded, then trotted over to Ghosts' pups. Picking one up at a time, she could see the one was already dead. She trotted over to Zasshu and put the pup down, returning to pick up the only one left. Riley and Sawyer were the two left. Bo had died from disease. All of Cheyanne's pups had left and found mates of their own. Now Cheyanne had to mother again.

Zasshu nosed the pup that Cheyanne had layed by his feet, and the small pup let out a small whine and pawed at Zasshu's nose. Zasshu licked the small pup's back to comfort it, then layed down and nudged it up under his chest to keep it warm, because he could tell that it was cold because he could see that it was shivering. Zasshu glanced over at Bo, flattening his ears, feeling sorrowful for the poor pup.

Sorry I haven't replied in so long!I decided I wanted to post a reply today .

Ash,Sitka,Kenai,Flare,and Oakly were all out hunting for the pack.Awhile later Ash came back with his pups,startled to see one of Ghost's pups dead,two alive,and Ghost starting to die."Cheyanne?Zasshu?What's going on?Was there an attack or something?"Ash asked,his facial expression in the state of being shocked.

Sitka stopped right in her path,staring at Riley and Sawyer,then at Bo."W-W-What happened?"Sitka asked,her eyes a bit widened out.She could tell there was something wrong,something bad.Was it a disease spreading?Rabies?She didn't know what it was,she figured she'd find out.

It wasn't rabies. The pup that had died was bitten to death. Bite marks were all over his neck. Ghost's the same way. And Zach was gone.

Zasshu noticed the bite marks on both the dead pup and Ghost, and his eyes narrowed and he growled protectively.

"Ghost, who did this to you? And where is my son Zach?" Zasshu asked seriously.

"River." was all the Ghost had said.

Zasshu looked at Zasshu with confusion in his eyes.

"River...?" he asked.

"Down by the river, stupid." Cheyanne started off down by the river. Zach was dead, his head covered in matted fur and his body in the river. His left front paw was scarred and bloody, laying on the ground beside him. Cheyanne pushed his head into the river. Trying to avoid the scent off blood.

Carla| Beta| Female| Single

Carla watched her mother push her younger brother into the river. Carla knew what Zach had done, she just didn't tell her familly. She didn't finish what her brother started. But if she didn't tell, what would happen? How did they find out if they will find out? What if they found out what happend and they found out that she knew what happend? What would they do to her because she didn't tell and kept it a secret?

Carlos looked pissed, he stared at Zach's body down at the river until his mom pushed him into it. Zach was dead. And for good reason too. Carla knew Carlos knew what happend. Carla was scared the Carlos might tell. "Dad.." Carlos shouted. "Zach killed that pup. Ghost as well."

"Carlos!" Carla spreaded her legs apart, ready to pounce on her brother."You said you wouldn't tell anybody!"
"Don't tell who did it!"

Carlos| Delta | Male| Single

"Carla, enough!" he shouted to his sister. "I said I wouldn't tell pack members. Not our familiy by blood. Zach is dead for a good reason. Zach killed Bo. He hurt Ghost first so she couldn't stop him. Zach bit Bo on the neck and killed him. Then repeated the biting, in front of Ghost." Carlos bared his fangs, he was so angry he could kill just about anybody who was with Zach when it happend. "Zach left towards the river late last night. I was awake and we talked. For about a minute before I took advantege of his open and left alone neck. I killed him."


Carla| Beta| Female| Single

Carla held her head low. "He killed his brother so Zach wouldn't kill anybody else. You should thank Carlos for that. Who knows what would have happend if he didn't." Carla shot a look to her dad. "Who will take his place?" Carla wondered. "Aspen is dead too. I'm the second in command. A lower rank of alpha. But, I don't want to take place right now." Carla's words were stuttered. She went on about who would do it.

"I'll do it." Carlos looked over to his only sister. She had a look on her face as to say, 'what?'.
"I'll do it. I'm the only one who's up for it."


Cheyanne| Alpha| Female| Has a mate

"Yes." Cheyanne said within a heartbeat after a long, awkward silence. "You will be the knew alpha. I'll tend to Ghost, she's not dead and has a great chance of living." Cheyanne trotted into the den, licking the wounds clean on Ghost's neck, paws, and face.

Keehl and Marshall looked at each other, then Keehl spoke.

"Wait. I'm up for it too." he said, looking at Carlos. "It'a always been my biggest dream to be a great Alpha, just like my dad." Keehl looked at Zasshu.

Zasshu looked at his son Keehl, then to his son Marshall, who only nodded. Zasshu then looked back at Keehl with uncertainty.

"I don't know, Keehl. Carlos is next in line after all, but you are both equal in strength. I think your mother should decide which one of you it will be."

Keehl then glanced at Cheyanne, hope and determination in his eyes.

"Mom, please." Keehl said boldly. "I can do this. I'll be a great Alpha, just like dad and Zach were. I want you to be proud of me and not just see me as second rate."

Cheyanne looked at Keehl, then over to Carlos.


Carlos| Delta | Male| Single

"Zach wasn't a good alpha, Keehl. He killed one of his pups and almost his mate. You're lucky he didn't kill you." Carlos bared his fangs and licked his lips.



Cheyanne| Alpha| Female| Has a mate

"Keehl. You can be alpha male. But if you do something wrong like Zach, Carlos is taking over."

"I would never dream of it, Mom." Keehl answered. "I'll be the best I can be."

Zasshu stepped into the shallow part of the river and stood over Zach's dead body.

"Why, Zach?" Zasshu asked quietly.

Cheyanne| Alpha Female

"Zasshu. It's over. Forget about it, he's dead now."

"I know." Zasshu said, solemnly. "I just don't understand."

Zasshu then headed back toward the den.

"I'm gonna check on Ghost."

(Time skip, a year later)

Cheyanne, was now 6 years old. 42 in wolf years. She was moving on as well. "Zasshu, I'm leavin' the pack." she said, picking up a elk bone with meat still dangling from it. She thought she might as well take something with her.

Zasshu, who was lying on the ground with his eyes closed in the shade, didn't quite catch what she said.

"Hmm...?" he asked quietly. He was having another sick day, and wasn't feeling very well.
