"So, are we a couple?" he asked with a grin. That was his way of asking her out.

"Only if you want us to be..." Bethany said through a blush.

Nate smiled, it wasn't his usual smirkish, smile, this one was honest and happy. "I'd like nothing more..." he said softly. He smiled and took off the little necklace he wore. It was a leather strip with a little clock pendant, and a dog tag, with a inscription that read "For the time we're apart.." Nate's mother had given it to him, before she went crazy. But he wanted Beth to have it, for some reason. "Here..." he said softly, gently placing it over her head and around her neck. "So ya always think of me!" he teased leaning in closer to her.

Bethany looked at the dogtag around her neck, running her thumb over it. "Nate, I can't take this...It's yours!" She insisted.

He shook his head, "I know, but I want you to have it. You mean more to me than that necklace." he said the last part unintentionally. But when he realized it he smiled sheepishly.

Bethany blushes, and smiled fiently, "Thanks.." She said, kissing Nate.

Nate smiled and placed his hand on her cheek, kissing her back.

"What the h*ll?!?!" Nick's voice suddenly sounded. Make Nate yelp and jerk away whirling around to see Nick looking at them with a wide gaze.

Bethany stood and took a few steps away from Nate, her eyes wide with fear, "N-Nick...Oh...Uhm...Hi..."She said sheepishly through her burning cheeks.

Nick's blue eyes, locked on Nate. "You better run, if you want to keep all your teeth!" he snarled.

Nate blinked and looked at Beth: he mouthed the words "I'll see you later"-

"GO!!!" Nick boomed. Making Nate flinch and sprint off into the trees, kicking up sand as he ran. Nick then turned his attention to Beth. He stormed over to her and grabbed her roughly by the wrist, clenching to the bone with sheer anger. "What the h*ll is wrong with you?!" he demanded fiercely. Never before had he been seen so mad.

"I-I'm sorry..." Bethany said timidly, taken aback by Nick's rage. It wasn't like him to get so angry with her, she didn't like it one bit. "I-I told you that I k-kinda' l-liked him.." She muttered, looking at her feet. Bethany couldn't bring herself to look him in the eyes.

He snarled and grabbed her by the shirt, holding her menacingly at his eye level. "So you ran off with him?! What's wrong with you?! You're seventeen! You don't run around, wh*ring it up, with pervy teenage boys!!! You stay away from him!!!" he boomed, shaking her violently. "And you better hope I don't tell you're father! That boy will never be able to see you again!!" he thought Nate and Beth had done something, and his sudden anger was terrifying.

Bethany's blood turned cold, she shook frantically, tears pricked her eyes. She tried to wiggle away from Nick, but it didn't work. "We..O-only went swimming, Nick. I-In the lake..." She tried to explain but her voice was weak, "Please don't tell my dad, Nick. W-We only went swimming..." The tears had started now. Bethany wiped her eyes, and looked at the ground, still shaky wildly.

"Liar!!" Nick growled, roughly shoveing her back against a tree, but still holding her by the shirt. "You might've gone swimming, but something else must've happened, he had no shirt instead you're wearing it!!" he yelled getting right in her face. Nick had been in the army, but not as a noble hero... He was a merssinary. He had no concise. "And it's my decision whether your father finds out!" he growled, shaking her again, but not as violent.

"Nick stop, you're scaring me!" Bethany sobbed, "H-He gave me his shirt because I went swimming with my clothes on and he had put aside his clothes. So he let me barrow his shirt because he didn't want me to get cold!" She whimpered, feeling extremly scared and nervous now, they was no telling what Nick might do.

As she was speaking, Nick was shaking his head, like a mad animal ready for a fight. He looked back up at her. "You shut your mouth and stop crying!!!" he ordered, yelling right into her face. "I don't care what you say Bethany! You're teenagers, and he's a guy, the only thing going through his head, is how to get into your pants!! And your father would also see it that way!" he growled. Pinning her to the tree, with sheer strength and rage. His eyes fell on the necklace, "What is that?!" he hissed, his eyes glazed and fierce.
