"Well that makes me feel better." Bethany said sarcastically, "Hey, wanna go swimming?" She asked.


((Yeah!))

(Bahahaha!!)

"Swimming? Sure, but where would we swimming at?" he asked curiously.

"There's a lake, just a hike away." She said, looking in the direction of where the lake was.

He smiled, "Alright!" he grinned, letting her get off him then standing up himself.

A 'short hike' later...

Soon the glistening lake came into view and Nate stopped alongside Beth. He grinned and pulled his shirt off, kicked off his shoes and looked at her with a grin. "You ready?"

Bethany nodded, kicking off her shoes but keeping her clothes on. She grabbed his hand and ran towards the lake.

Nate smiled when she took his hand, and he happily followed her. He dove into the water then resurfaced and looked at Beth with a grin. His shaggy auburn brown hair wet and clinging to his face.

Bethany surfaced as well and slicked her hair back.

They spent the rest of the day swimming, finally, Nate grinned mischievously. Without warning, he swam up behind Beth and playfully picked her up, 'bridal style'. Then he started up the bank with her in his arms playfully. Water streamed off them as they came up the bank.

Bethany wrapped her arms around his neck, holding onto Nate tightly. "Don't drop me!" She begged with humor in her voice.

"Oh please, I wouldn't dream of it!" he assured. He then sat her down, carefully in the sand. And grabbed his shirt. He would've put ot on but he looked at Beth, who had no dry clothes then he extended it to her. "Here Beth, take it, you could get sick just wearing wet clothes." he said softly.

Bethany looked up at him, "Seriously?" That was one of the nicest things anyone other than her father had ever done for her, "But...You won't have a shirt, and it's getting cold." She argued.

"Take it, I have a jacket back in my truck. I should be okay, but you're all wet, I don't want you to get sick." he assured softly, and with a smile. It was getting colder, but Nate wasn't bothered. He had lived on the streets one winter when he ran away from the orphanage. But he assumed, she wasn't use to the cold for to long, so he wanted her to be warm and dry.

"Okay..." Bethany said, stripping off her wet shirt and pulling his over her head.

He smiled and sat down next to her, a little to close. For a minute he was quiet. Then he looked at her "Is this a date?" he asked with a grin. He knew it was, but he wondered what she thought.

"Uhm...maybe.." She said through a smirk.
