The Next Morning...
It was almost noon, and Nate was helping Nick load a truck with hay. The boy looked exhausted but he didn't slow down his work a bit, because Beth's father was watching them for the time being. Nate didn't care, he wanted to see Beth. He could outwit the man if needed.

Beth came outside soon, she saw Nate working and was about to walk over, when her father caught her eye. Bethany sighed and walked past them, smiling at her dad and going to the stalls.

Nate watched Beth Then he looked at her father, he smirked and picked up a piece of wood that was leftover in the truck bed and he quickly chuckled it. It made a faint noise which gained Mr. Valentines attention and with the opportunity Nate darted swiftly after Beth ducking into the stall with her.
He didn't notice Nick, glaring after him.

"Mornin'!" he greeted with a smile, he looked around for her father then grinned: "I can only talk for a few minutes, before your dad notices I'm gone." he said quietly, a bit afraid of getting caught. "Look, I'm sorry about last night..." he said, referring to kissing her without warning. "I shouldn't have done that." he said softly. He thought he might've upset her, since she wasn't like most girls he knew.
