Tai's fur bristled, looking form him to Goldie.
Goldie turned quickly, and pressed her ears bakc submissively. She tucked her tial inbetween her legs, and looked back at Cachen, before wlaking over to Steele. "Wh-what's wrong?" she asked, beginning to change her own attitude. Her pose became more relaxed.
Cain smirked at his brother. "Fang...how's town life treating you?" he said with a snicker underneath his breath. He knew Steele probably messed things up for Fang.

"Look, I can't stand Balto and his family, but I respect them and understand that they're much better role models than I am." said Steele. "So if you do care for the little mu-I mean pup that looks like a mini Balto...I want you to go with them." he said. "I've always wanted you and Cain to be better dogs than I was, I realized a little too late for Cain but not for you." he said. "So please, go with them if you love the kid."
"Well actuelly, I'm on the mail team." said Fang, smiling, knowing his brother was a stray. "And I'm owned by the musher." he said. "And I have a good number of friends."

Goldie seemed a bit sad. She didn't want to leave Steele alone, she had already tohught of him as a Father. However, she cared deeply for Cachen, and almost loved him. She looked up at Steele, face creased with worry and sadness. "Bu-but...but I..."
Tai smirked. She didn't like this dog at all, and smiled at Fang.
Cain seemed to collapse inwardly, but kept him composure. "Yes, plenty of friends, mutts and mongrels all...And a couple of lobos too?"

"Look, I've been in two relationships that didn't work out." said Steele. "So I know a good bit about love, Fang's mother was the one for me and I ruined it, if you think that pup is the one for you, go with him." he said, showing a real regret for his choices. "True love is a rare thing, once in a life time most of the time, so don't let it go when you've found it, no matter what, trust me."
"Well a few wolfdogs and a wolf, but also at least four pure breds." said Fang, smiling again.

Goldie nodded, and looked down, afraid she might begin to cry. "But-but can't you come with me?" she asked, and looked back up again.
Cain huffed, getting close to Fang's face. "What kind of town accepts geneitc trash anyway?"
Tai had had enough, and was close enough to hear. She pressed herself between the two brothers and stared daggers at Cain. Before he could even ask what she was looking at, when she took a clawed paw and slapped Cain harshly across the face. "I've heard enough! your brother is far better off than you. I cannot for the life of me understand dogs liek you-stuck up, egotistical, excuse for man's best friend!" she had never gotten so angry before...

"I can't, Nome won't accept me for what I've done." said Steele. "And I don't blaim them." he said. "So please, go with them."
Before Cain could respond, Lena snuck up behind him and kicked him between his hind legs as hard as she could with her hind legs, hard enough to lift his hind feet off the ground a few centameters.

A few tears went down Goldie's fac,e and she turned her head down. She had grown close to Steele without even knowing it.
Kodi pulled Lena away. "Whoa whoa..." he said, blocking Lena from Cain. He wouldn't ever wish that on his worst enemy.
Tai hid her laughter, looking down.
Before Cain saw kodi ruch over, he lashed out with his claws, leaving a bleeding trio of cuts on his face that were meant for Lena.

"I know you've grown close to me but as much as a hate to mention it, we both know this is what's best for you." said Steele. He saw Cain lash out and dashed over. "Cain!" he growled. "I told you, even if we hate them, show respect!" he growled. He looked to Kodi. "I know I've done some bad things to your famil, but I'm trying to be a changed dog." he said. "I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, I've grown to see that." he said. "I'm not proud of anything I did, I'm sorry." he said, to all of them, sincerly. "I'll admit, I still don't like you, that's just who I am, but I'm not going to cause you problems for you because that will always come back to haunt me." he said. "And its about time I get some good karma in my life." he said before turning to Cain. "Apologize." he said, giving Cain a serious look that could make even Lena behave.
Lena whimpered and started licking her father's wound.

Kodi smiled, letting Lena lick the wound.
Jenna blinked, looking surprised. "Steele," she murmured, standing slowly. "No." she said "I know the three of them were all angry. It's not like Tai or Lena to lash out like that." she looked to both. "You two, please apologize first?"
Tai nodded, looking up. "You're right, Grandma...I shouldn't have acted that way."
Goldie smiled, but it crakced thorugh the tears. She was truly close to Steele. When she thought no one was looking at her, she turned and ran back where she Steele and Fang usually stayed, eyes blurring.

Cain nodded, closing his eyes. He tohught he wasn't wrong, after all, the darn half-breed girls started it. However, he said the most sincere 'I'm sorry' he could muster. And it was completely fake.

Steele rolled his eyes. He then looked back to the others. "Look, I know I haven't earned anything from you but I'd like you to do something...please take Goldie with you." he said. "She's been almost like a daughter to me and I want her to have a better life than I ever could." he said. "And be a better dog than I could." he said. "Its too late for me to do that for Cain, but Goldie needs a better role model than me." he said. He looked to Tai. "And...sorry for the...trying to force breed you thing..." he muttered, akwardly.
Balto looked to Kodi. "You're a father at the moment, so you'd probably take care of her best, what do you think?"
Cachen ran off after Goldie. He soon found her. "Goldie...why are you crying?" he asked, concerned.

Tai had since calmed down. She smiled, actually smiled. "It's fine...I'm still too young anway. It's no trouble-at least you know it wasn't the best decision." her tail wagged slowly.
Kodi nodded, and looked at Steele. "Providing she wants to come with us...She's free to make her own choice, right?"
Goldie gasped softly, and turned ot see Cachen. She didn't hide the fact she was crying. "Why wouldn't anybody understand he's better now?" she asked. "How would you feel if everyone in a whole town thought your Father was bad? He's not, he's not!" she leaned against Cachen, crying.

"Yes, but I know she loves Cachen and vice versa, I'm not letting her make the same mistake as I did with Fang's mother." said Steele. "I want her to have a good life, I tried with Cain but I think he ended up like I used to be."
"I know." said Cachen. "I feel the same way for Fang." he said. "I know Steele's changed but he'd need to show the dogs he has and if he doesn't want to, there's not much we can do..." he said, honestly.

Kodi nodded. "BUt I saw the saw she looked at you when you were speaking to her." he said, smirking lightly. "she's obviously deeply attatched to you."
Goldie pressed her face into Cachen's fur. She closed her eyes gingerly. "I-I just want him to come with me...He's like my Father...I love him...I do. I love him like I was his daughter.."
