[Balto, Complete] So wrong, but it feels so right [Part 1]

Slyth shrugged. Raising an eyebrow at her. a chicken, a raft and a bag of grain? He couldn't think of anywhere to find a raft, but a bag of grain and a chicken was sinch. "well, generally you can find grain at the mill or market. Chickens arn't to hard to find there either. As for a raft. . .i don't know. The closest thing thing to a raft i can think of is a sled would that work?"
He couldn't help but wonder what she would need things like these for. And this is supposed to be a mental test? He began trying to figure out what you could do with these unobtrusive items. "I could do the last part" Slyth said, grunting slightly at Max's name being mentioned.
Once again, he tryied to think of what she could be meaning. what's the vixen for and why is she laughing?

Storm shivered slightly and dart raised an eyebrow, he then looked away and wiated.

As his confusion deepened and he volunteered for the role in the last task, her laughter only increased. She tried to calm herself down and managed finally, "Well, I'm not sure you'd want to participate in the last task, especially after you hear what it is, but if you really want to." She continued to giggle for a few more seconds and then regained her composure.

"As for the sled...hmm...do you think it would float well enough with extra weight on it? It would have to so that Storm can get across the stream." She thought about it for a moment and then nodded. "Hmm, I suppose it might work without sinking. Yeah, we could use a sled. Good, now all that's left to do is go find that fox friend of mine and see if she wants to help." Blitz was grinning again and her tail was wagging faster than before.

Max sat there at the broken down house still watching and wait he wanted to check on things with Biltz but he didnt want to see Slyth and last time he felt like he butted in on something more then just thinking on the challnge, but he knew he did what he could by making the family forget well most of them but he really want to do something more to help Storm but he just sat there and waited

Slyth only got more confused by her words. "Well, I'm not sure you'd want to participate in the last task, especially after you hear what it is, but if you really want to." He didn't know why she was giggling but he figured it had something to do with the tests.
Having gotten everything figured out, and once Blitz told him the sled would work, especially since Storm was so small. If Slyth tryed it, it'd sink. But then again, he could probably jump over the stream, or if it was to wide, he could always swim.
Only thing left to do was to find out about the vixen friend of Blitz's. So, Slyth followed behind her. Curousity getting the better of him, he jogged to catch up with her and asked "why would i wan't to volunteer for the final part of the test?"

Blitz began walking, showing him the way to the thicket where her friend lived. She held back her laughter as he asked about the test again and she said, "Well, let's just say that Storm has to give whoever agrees to help with that last part a smooch." As she said that, she had to bite her lip to keep from erupting in a fit of giggles again. She knew Slyth probably wouldn't think it too funny, especially since he'd volunteered for it at first.

She continued on at a slow walk towards the fox's burrow and then turned back to him and smiled. "It's just ahead in that thicket. Hopefully Selena will agree to help us." They then came upon several logs, piled on top of each other as they had fallen years before, concealing a hole just barely big enough to have let a beagle or other small dog in it.

Blitz stuck her head down inside the hole and said in a quieter tone, "Hello? Selena, you home? It's Blitz. I have a small favor to ask of you."

As Blitz stepped back, a red and white fox stuck her head out of the hole and looked around carefully, her eyes stopping at Slyth suspiciously. She eyed the male and said to Blitz without looking at her, "Yes, yes, you always need favors. What is it this time eh? What kind of trouble are you in?"

Blitz grinned embarrassedly and replied, "I'm not in any trouble, I just need a small favor. There's a dog who's in a bit of a fix and-"

"Aha! There it is. A friend of yours is in a fix. Good grief Blitzy, you really need to stop coming to me when you or your friends are in trouble." Selena had looked back to Blitz now and sighed, shaking her head. "I probably shouldn't, but I suppose I'll help you with whatever it is that you need me for."

The vixen pulled herself out of her burrow as Blitz grinned and yipped with joy. "Thanks Selena! It's ok, you don't have to do terribly much at all. All I really need you to do is, when the time comes, and you'll know what I mean later, and you are left alone with a chicken we are soon to acquire, you are to simply eat it."

As they all began their walk back towards Nome Selena raised a brow and shrugged. "Alright, if that's all you want me to do is eat lunch if I'm left alone with the chicken, it sounds good to me. But I still don't quite see how this will help anybody."

Slyth looked at Blitz surprised. "he has to what?"
He could tell she was trying not to giggle anymore but he didn't find it funny. She didn't say anything else to him because they reached the home of the vixen just then. While Blitz stuck her head into the vixen's home, Slyth sat down and watched her. It seemed odd that they needed help from a vixen, but if Blitz knew what she was doing, Slyth trusted her judgement.
He stopped trying to figure out her plan for Storm's test once she said they needed Selena to simply eat the chicken she had asked for earlier. He was starting to get a headach by now.

He completely agreed with Selena's last words. He couldn't see how this was going to help solve anything other than keep the vixen from getting hungry.

Storm and Angel sigh and deside to have soe private time and they wtach the sunset.

"Storm..do you think happiness is eternal?"

"It depends if your how far your herats willing to go"

Blitz looked back behind her at both the fox and Slyth and slowed until she was parallel with Slyth. She looked at him and winked saying quietly, "I know you must think I'm a complete lunatic by now, but just trust me. You know how I said I had riddles and tasks for him? This is just a small part of one of those tasks." She smiled and then added, "Oh! Dart can't see you around me, Storm or Selena. If he does, things won't go too well. But you can watch the tasks from the other side of the wooden fence around the junkyard. There are holes big enough for you to see through and you'll be just close enough to hear most of what's going on. I'll meet up with you right after Storm and I are done with the test."

At a loss for anything else to say, and uncertain whether she should risk nuzzling him, even as a friendly gesture again, she simply smiled that mysterious smile of hers and then tipped her head, indicating that Selena should follow her. She jogged around the junkyard fence line, looking back once at Slyth and then entered with Selena at her heels. "Dart! I'm ready. I've pieced together a challenge I'm sure even you will approve of." The smile had turned into a clever grin and Selena noted how quickly this change had come over her. She decided she'd better not say anything for the moment.

Max saaw Blitz walk up with a fox so he got up to see what they were going to do and to hear them better and he thought to himself "i hope she's got the best plan to get Storm back" then looked at the fox "what is Blitz going to do with a fox......" then he moved up alittle not letting himself seen to hear what they were saying because he was having a hard time hearing them

Slyth's cheeks rose into a smile but drooped not long after into a small frown. After she'd finished talking, and she'd told him that he had to stay away, he sighed. "I guess i don't have much of a choice then do I?"
Once he finished saying this he looked toward Selena, watching her follow Blitz away and out of sight.

Quickly finding the holes Blitz had spoken of, Slyth was slightly surprised at their size. It was the perfect size hole for him to peer into and look at what was going on on the other side, but too small for anyone who looked in his direction to notice. It's like it was put here for this very reason. . .

Settling down, Slyth sat and waited to see watch how this progressed. His ears twitching slightly as thier voices reached them.
Blitz was the first to talk "Dart! I'm ready. I've pieced together a challenge I'm sure even you will approve of."

STorm sighed and waited for the challenege, he once agaion had failed to relise how close Angel was too him as the two pups waited to hear the challenge.

Blitz grinned. "I'm glad you asked. My challenge is a series of riddles that must be answered in order to complete the tasks that are tied to them. Most of the tasks are interrelated, meaning that in order to complete the next one, you must have completed the one before it, or you will fail. All of the riddles and tasks have been designed specifically to test just how clever this young pup is, how well he'll stand up to laughter from those watching, for some of the tasks will cause humiliation, and overall his worthiness to join this gang.

"To be fair because of the slight difficulty of this challenge, I'm offering Storm 3 life lines, and only three, that he may use whenever he sees fit. They include, one hint on a riddle, one free answer to a riddle, and help from one person of his choice, with my approval on one task. Each of these life lines may only be used once, so think carefully before you use them, Storm.

"Now, all riddles, hints, direction, and extra information during the challenge will be provided by me. No one may interfere in his test and he can recieve no help from any outside source unless it be one of this three life lines. If he does, I will consider it cheating and he will automatically fail. The same goes for if he cheats on a task in some way, and I already have my ways of knowing whether he is cheating or not.

"If he answers all the riddles and completes all the tasks correctly in the given time limit which will be announced momentarily, then he will pass and will be, with your approval of course, Dart, admitted into the gang. But if he fails one riddle and one task, then he fails the challenge altogether and is deemed unworthy to enter the gang. This isn't an altogether extremely difficult challenge, so if everyone agrees with all this and if Storm is ready, then we can begin with the first riddle."

Blitz, throughout her little speech, had glanced at all present, judging their expressions and attitudes. She knew that this would be a long day, but no matter what, it had to be done, whether Storm ended up passing or failing. She glanced to her right and noticed Selena again and then added, "Oh, and the fox is my friend Selena who will be helping out later."
