Kat whimpered and nodded, she'd known Alfred, no, loved Alfred, her entire life. How could she lose him now.

Alfred sighed. "We should et your stuff together, do you have anpassport?"

Kat knit her eyebrows, "Uh..No...I kinda...snuck on the plane...remember?" Kat asked with a sheepish frown.

Arthur groaned quietly.
"Right. Well we can get You one.." He said, pullin out a laptop, and whining to search for a goo place to get one

"I'll...Go pack then.." Kat said in a weak voice.

"I'll help." Alfred said.

Kat started emptying out her closet, doing her best to avoid the tears the dripped into her eyes. She blinked and looked under the bed for her shoes, afraid that if she started talking, she'd start crying.

"This yours?" Alfre sakés, pulljng out a Batman short.

"No. It's your's from like...11th grade. You let me barrow it. I forget to give it back. Sorry. You can have it back." Kat said in a low voice.

"No you keep it!" Alfred insisted, shoving it in her bag.

Kat nodded and forced a pair of tennis shoes into her bag.

Alfred sniffled, wiping his nose.
"I wish you didn't have to go.."

Kat's breathing caught as he spoke, tears caught in her eyes and spilled over. She crawled over to Alfred and wrapped her arms gingerly along the base of his neck. Her eyes traveled to his lips, but she didn't kiss him, she practiced her self control. Kat licked her own lips and felt herself take a shakey breath, but it wasn't like she was breathing at all with Alfred in her arms. It was like they were invisible to the world at this very moment, like nothing mattered, not Arthur, not Ludwig, not Brett. Kat closed her throat, holding her breath and counting the seconds until Alfred broke the silence. She hated this silence, hated the words that would never be said. Maybe if Arthur had never came, maybe they would have gotten married, had little Kats and Alfreds, lived in a suburban neighborhood. Kat wouldn't have gotten in trouble with the police if Arthur never came. Kat wouldn't have gone on a drunken party all across America if Arthur hadn't come. Kat wouldn't have known the feeling of having absolutely no one. Kat wouldn't have had to come to England, she wouldn't have had to experience such grief...

But if Arthur hadn't have came to America, Alfred would never have met his soul mate. Kat choked a bit, realizing how selfish she had been. Alfred loved Arthur, why would she even think that he'd ever be happy without him? How could she have been so ignorant. Kat tilted her head into his chest, her shoulders rising and slumping as she softly wept into Alfred's shoulder. If Arthur hadn't have come to America, Alfred wouldn't have known the happiness he feels now. He would have lived his whole life thinking he was satisfied, when she never really would have been.

Alfred held Kat close, begging for himself not to cry, but hhe couldn't hold bsckk the tears that were just forcing themselves out. He let out a choked sob, and buried his gve intno Kat's shoulder.
"I'll write..and send you photos, and make you pictures.." He mused, noddin his head weakly,

Kat nodded in agreement, she wouldn't crop him out of her life like she had before, she'd keep in touch. But what about her nightmares? Simply knowing Alfred was in the same house as her would make the nightmares managable, but what would happen when he was gone? How would she cope?
"Can you sleep with me tonight? To keep the nightmares away for one more night..Before I have to go? She asked in a weak voice, "You don't have to if you don't want." She said simply, her face still pressed into Alfred's shoulder.
