Nate was quiet: "Alright, since you think you're such a big jerk..." he stood up and smiled down at her. "You can make it up to me, by finishing our dance. Out here, so no one will bump into us." he said outstretching his hand for her to take,

Bethany smiled, something she realized she didn't do very much around Nate, and took his hand. She rested her hands on his shoulders, relaxing a little.

"Okay, I have to ask...Why are you really on this ranch? You don't seem like the type who'd want to be here." She asked.

Nate realized, Beth wasn't the type of girl who would want to be around a delinquent. He didn't want to tell her he had violated his warning. He had gone to court one too many times.

"Well uh..." he didn't want to lie to her, so he sighed and reluctantly said: "I got in some trouble... a fight... and as punishment, they sent me here..."

"What was the fight over?" She asked, interested.

"Just stupid stuff..." he smirked, shrugging. "This guy thought I stole somthin' from him." for once, Nate was innocent of that crime.

"Oh." Bethany said, "Well...I'm sure you didn't." She said, trying to not focus on how close he was to her.

Nate nodded and realized they where closer than before, he looked at her and smiled, moving his hands from her sides and wrapping his arms around her waist. "You sure you're okay with this? You don't hafta' dance with me ya' know." he said softly. He didn't want her to feel uncomfortable. He once again found himself looking into her eyes.

"I'm fine with this, just a little nervous...That's all." She said, loosing herself in his eyes.

While he looked at her eyes, he also got lost. For a moment he thought about kissing her. But he blinked and shook his head, moving back after he moved his face closer to hers. Then he spoke sheepishly, "You uh, shouldn't be. Ehm... It's just a dance."

Bethany chuckled a little, feeling herself blush more. "Feels more than...just a dance..." She said shyly.

Nate blinked, a faint blush on his cheeks he grinned sheepishly and laughed a little...

After they had danced awhile longer, and the party started dying down. Nate looked at her and smiled, still holding her close. "I better get goin' for real this time." he said with a small smile.

Bethany sighed, but nodded. "Are you coming in tomorrow?" She asked hopefully.

"Yeah." he replied. He was quiet for a minute then he smiled: "I'll see ya tomorrow..." he softly kissed her forehead and before she could reply he let her go and backed up. "G'night Beth." he said with a smile as he turned and walk to his truck.

Bethany felt her face burn red and she failed to hide her blush, "Y-yeah...s-see ya..." She stammered.

Nick, who had seen the whole thing came out to stand beside her. "Awwww!" he cooed playfully.

While he drove home, Nate smiled to himself and sighed with content.
