Adam ~
He looked up at a familiar face. Jake. He reached up and shook his hand. Hey brotha. He said simply and grinned. He was in pain but his face was nothing but grins. Jake was a cop. Jake led Adam out and to the ambulance.

Villina insisted on letting the two boys ride along with him. She got in her truck as did the rest of the family, she revved the engine and drove forward. She rode with Emma and her parents in the back. Mel was held by her mother, who hadn't put down the tiny little baby since she had first been handed her.

Jake ~
He had a tight grip on Adam's hand as he inserted an IV in his arm. The doctors aloud him to do that because he refused to move out of the way. Adam squeezed Jake's hand and winced some.

Villina looked back at her dad, who looked grim, but she knew he would have told her if it was super serious. He reached forward and squeezed her shoulder, she smiled back at him thankfully. She missed havingher parents around, like when she was a kid. That was the life. When they would always be there for her. Even now, they would always be there for her if they could.

Adam ~
Jake, if I don't make it through this, take care of Villina for me.He said and coughed. Jake looked down at Adam, 'You're gonna be fine. Just wait.' Jake doubted a little bit wether he would or not but he prayed quietly he would.

Villina watched the ambulance ahead. It ran through a red light and she sighed, she stopped the truck and waited. Her brother called, saying that he was in North Dakota, duck hunting with some friends. She was glad, she had been worried about him. The ambulance was far out of sight when finally the light changed, she pressed on the gas and they were driving forward once more. As she thought she prayed for Adam.

Adam ~
He was finally at the hospital when they rushed him in and up to a room. He had cuts and lashes all over his right side. He had 3 broken ribs and would need hundreds of stitches. Adam looked at Jake's watery eyes and pulled him into a strong hug. Jake refused to let go of Adam. Take care of her. He whispered into Jake's ear and Jake broke down crying. Holding his best friend.

Villina drove around, desperately trying to find a parking spot. She prayed silently in her head. She sighed, her father put a hand on her shoulder, "Go and see him, I'll park the car." he said, Villina nodded, she got out a sprinted as fast as she could inside. She burst through the door and looked franticly around. "May I help you miss?" a nurse asked, she nodded. "I'm looking for Adam." she said, the nurse hesitated.

Jake ~
He shook Adam's shoulder some when he felt his grip loosen. Jake looked at Adam's face and felt his neck for a paulse. Nothing. Jake cried some and took off his(Adam's) dog tags, slipping them into his pocket. Jake saluted him, letting some tears slip. Rest In Peace brother. He said and put a hand to his chest. Jake could remember everything from when he and Adam just became friends. Jake broke down and soon, Adam's brother came through the door. Jake looked over, Adam and his brother looked the same in many many ways. Jake broke the news to Adam's brother and everything just broke down from there.

The nurse smiled sadly at Villina. "One moment." she said, she scurried off and returned. "Yes. But I'll have to bring a restraining order. I know how most husbands and wifes react when the doctor tells them what he'll tell you." she said, trying to prepare Villina for it. Villina's heart froze. The nurse led her into the room, the doctor stood, there was a divider pulled out, blocking Adam from view. "Mrs. Maddox...." he said, trailing off. "I'm afraid we lost him." he said. Villina was silent for a minute, the shock took a bit to sink in. It did slowly, washing over her in a trail of grief. The doctor looked worried at her delayed reaction. She sniffled, she could feel the tears threatening to flow. "May I... may I see him?" she asked, stumbling over her words. The Doctor... or the supposed doctor, because he hadn't been able to save Adam nodded. She stepped around to see a both peaceful, but bloody Adam, She fell to her knees and kissed his cold forehead before burying her head in the side of the bed/ table and sobbing.

Jake ~
He looked at her once more and put his hand on her shoulder. He sighed some and looked at Adam's body. A soilder never cried. Or so said the drill officer. Jake looked at Villina again and felt bad for her. 3 kids and all alone again. He missed Adam's voice already but had taken several dozens of videos of he and Adam together. It would never be the same without ole' Adam.

Villina felt a hand on her shoulder, she looked up to find Adam's friend behind her, she sniffled, she had to calm down. Cowgirls don't cry. Her father had told her that. When she had fallen off the horse for the first time. When she had fallen on ground. Taken a spill. Anytime he had cried. She decided that she would take the kids out 'west' and raise them on a western horse ranch. her days with English were over, for now. "cowgirls don't cry." she said in a whisper to herself, she stood and hugged Jake. "Thanks for that." she said, barely audible. She took her two sons and her baby daughter in to say goodbye to their daddy one last time. "Did he ever say where he wanted to be buried?" she asked Jake.

Jake ~
He shook his head some and looked at Villina. His favorite spot to be was in the forests. I suppose we should burry there. He looked over at Adam's brother. Even he(Adam's brother) hadn't know that Adam's favorite place was in the forest.

Villina nodded, "I suppose we should bury Haley next to him. Father and daughter." she said, she sighed and stared out the window. She had lost a 'husband' before. Sure he had been her fiance, but they had been together for four years. Now it was happening again with Adam. She made herself swear not to marry again unless she really really loved the man, she had really really loved theses men, and she would only do it again if she was destined to. She wouldn't look for it. It just wouldn't be right.

Jake ~
He looked at the ground and nodded. Adam's brother stood there quietly. I'm Jake by the way. He said and shook his hand. The man replied simply, 'Calvin'. Jake nodded some. Both men had a firm grip.
