Shiro nodded, looking at the ground. Then he went over to the beginning of the obstacle course. "You wanna start?" he asked. Then he added with a challenging tone, "Betcha can't beat my time."
Ronno widened his eyes. "You mean it was all dogs?"

Shiro pressed a button on the wall, then waited. The obstacles began to move, twist, and grow to make it more challenging. He thrust out his claws. "It's go time!" he said, walking forward. He began by jumping headfirst through a moving ring, then landed with a somersault. When he stood up, he was met by columns of concrete rising, then punching the ground and repeated the process. He jumped under them, then jumped onto the other, and did this three times before being met with steel mannequins, moving around mechanically. He slashed off the heads with his claws with ease, then had to run down a path with holes appearing and reappearing in the ground, shooting small bursts of flame or darts out of them each time. He tried his best to dodge, but was hit with a few darts, but he healed from them instantly. Then, he had to run through a caged-in area full of different, moving sculptures. Some were of monsters or robbers, and some were police officers and civilians. He slashed the bad guys with his claws, but accidently cut a police officer's arm off. He cursed quietly at himself as he ran to the end, hitting the button at the end. He lifted his arms in triumph. "Beat that!" he challenged.
"Kill you?" said Ronno. "Why? Did you steal their food or something?"

Shiro read the time displayed on the wall above him. "1 minute, 33 seconds!" he exclaimed."
"That's strange." said Ronno. "Not all dogs hate cats."

Sally stretched. "Watch." she said and ran into the course. She managed to finish the course in 1 minute 32 seconds.
Ora nodded. "But these where really mean, that's why they were in the pound."

"That's not fair." said Shiro, even though he knew it was no use arguing. "You shaved off a second because you saw me do it first!"
Ronno said nothing as he looked out into the mountains. He didn't know what to say.

Shiro retracted his claws and crossed his arms. "You don't have to control foot-long indestructible claws."
Ronno closed his eyes. "Very relaxing. I've never seen anything like this before. A guard dog doesn't get out much."
