Actually, I'm feeling much better. ^^ Even though I'm a little mad that I can't go swimming until I'm cleared by a neurologist...

Yeah, I guess you're right. They told me to stay away from deep water until I'm cleared, because they're afraid that I might have another seizure and drown. I still think it's a bit unfair because it's the end of the year never-going-to-happen-again pool party, and I've been looking forward to it all year. That stupid seizure had to ruin it...

Yes, I know. Everyone who I've told this story has said the exact same thing to me. I'm sure that I'll definately be much safer if I just stay away from swimming. Even though I highly doubt that I'd have another seizure in the water since I feel fine, and the doctor even said that I was fine, my mother still refuses to let me swim.

Ok, I thought that all of this was over, but I was wrong...

I went to visit my doctor, and he did a simple physical test to be sure that my brain was communicating correctly with the rest of my body. He said that nothing seemed to be wrong, but just to be safe, he was going to send me to see a neurologist, who was apparently the best neurologist in the state. So, I went to Sinai hospital to see him, and he did yet another physical test along with some other reflex tests, and he said that it wasn't going to happen again, but he also wanted to be safe. So, he scheduled an EKG during summer break, and sent me home.

Well, believe it or not, within 2 or 3 days, I ended up having another seizure at school. The worst part was that my two best friends in the whole world saw it all happen. They (along with all those other kids who saw it) were scared to death and ran to get the nurse. They had known what was wrong with me because I had told them why I had been absent from school for so long, so they knew what to do.

My mother was furious that the neurologist was wrong and picked me up from school before taking me to GBMC hospital for basic after-seizure treatment. I stayed there for about an hour or two until they were sure that I was fine, they put a holter moniter on me to record my heart for 24 hours (because now they think that the seizures are connected to a heart problem), and then they sent me home yet again.

I haven't had another seizure since then, but now I have all of the doctors baffled. They saw something strange on the holter moniter and now I have to wear it for another 30 days. I've had millions of tests run on me, and so far, all of them have turned up normal. My next test is going to be a heart echo (which is kind of like an ultrasound of your heart), and then after that, they're suggesting that I take a sort of test known as a "tilt-table test", in which they lay me on a table and tilt it to see how my heart reacts to certain motions. They say that my heart rate speeds up whenever I sit up, and they find that concerning.

For now, they say that I have something called juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, but my mother says that it can't be because epilepsy has to do with the brain opposed to the heart. But I guess the best thing to do for now is to sit back and wait...

Thank you. ^^ I'm pretty sure that it's nothing too serious...they said for sure that it's nothing lethal, but if they were wrong about it never happening again, then it's hard to tell when they're accurate or not.

*revives topic*

Thanks DH. And, now for more news.
No more seizures, but I get pale like I used to do when I did have them. My stomach hurts like it did before I'd pass out, but I took tibb's advice and laid down. It stopped the seizure, which is good. And, along with the paleness, I've been twitching a bit every few hours. I haven't talked to a doctor about it. I just kinda ignored it, and I wanted to know if you guys thought that it meant anything.

Maybe it's just a severe allergic reaction to rubbing alcohol...

No, I don't think so. I wasn't near any rubbing alcohol during the second seizure.

Kari.. was I right when I said to you awhile back that you might have epilepsy? if so.. its not something that can be cured.. you have to live with it.. I think.. but I can get some info on it from one of my friends who has it.... but I sugjest you do not play alot of games.. if you do play games then you should talk to your doctor about it.. also concerts and repetive hours of TV and computer is not a good idea... same with anything with bright flashing lights, because that and everything I just mentioned will cause a serziur, also make sure to eat on a regular bases and make sure you get enough sleep and do not be expossed to etence heat for to long because that will also trigger it.

I shouldn't worry about it if you have only had 2
but if you do develop Epilepsy PM me-I have it.
I don't usually have the seizures when i black out but when I have, and in the other milder seizures I have similar symptoms to you described
