No sea, or lake monsters eh? Well, what is your defention of a monster?! Isn't a giant squid big enough to qualify? Or is 32+ feet long of squid just not big enough?

-Ok, sorry just had to let that out. Some types of skeptics tick me off. But your opion, kay? I just had to say that, not trying to offend anyone. But really, I think some of the skeptics do not want to accept the fact there are just unexplained things. Not saying some of you skeptics though. And that they are perhaps frightened of the thought of the unknown. I mean, we know more about space, than the oceans. It is possible somewhere in the ocean there is an unknown creature we would call a sea serpent. Like some say, the ocean is the last unexplored frontieer. Some just need to accept that there are things we just can't explain. Perhaps that fact has kept the legends mythical monsters being told for so long, and not being lost. It would be a sad world if we could explain everything.
Yes, all this long post has come from a true unexplained beliver. Perhaps some of you will not belive, but I do.

I'm not saying that possilby deep down the depths there is the giant squids and some other "weird" creatures, or creatures we would consider strange and bizar but I'm just saying in the case of Nessie here.. It's a freakin' lake, not a leagues deep ocean... we would have found a 50 foot monster by now... ( i was just guessing on the sizes you all ;) )

I believe Nessie is real. After all there are so many sightings. Also we wont know intill we have better technoledgy. Lock Ness is so murky and deep we cant do any research yet.

LOL - you know, I've heard tell that Loch Ness is quite deep...and difficult to navigate underwater. And apparently has a lot of difficult topographical features, and an accurate measure even using bathymetry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathymetry) is difficult to obtain. So there are still mysteries down there.

Of course, the Great Lakes, which sit on the border zone between the U.S. and Canada (where I believe it is said "Champ" comes from, no?) also are quite deep, and feature unusual underwater topography as well.

Makes you wonder...

There are fish at the bottom of Lochness Lake, maybe these Nessie's have mated and evolved since they might have been trapped in Lochness to eat small amounts of food and there are few of them. Maybe they work kinda like salmon? After eggs are laid or the female give birth or whatever they do the parents die to make room for the young?

If that's the case, then I think we would have found their dead bodies by now. Dead bodies float, right? So, if they were to die like the salmon, their bodies should wash up on shore, and their existence would be proven. So, I don't think their system works like a salmon's would.

I've ignored this topic for a long time, though, but, I think it's the air inside that causes dead bodies to float. Fish have an airy bladder that make 'em float. Nessies might not have an airy bladder so they simply sink and the living ones eat 'em.

Good point, Orion! After all, IF creatures like Nessie are some sort of plesiosaur or other marine reptile, which are descended from prehistoric marine reptiles which somehow managed to survive the extinction event of 65 million years ago, then they would not have a swim bladder. No ancient or modern reptile does. And, even like whales, they'd probably sink upon expiration (death). Whale carcasses have been found at the bottom of the shallower depths of the ocean. And they are mammals. Only vertebrate fish have swim bladders. I don't think marine crustaceans do...or even soft-bodied invertebrates (octopuses, squid, cuttlefish, jellyfish, etc.)

Im sorry, but of all the pictures of Nessie in the world, that black and white one is the one I believe in the LEAST. It looks like the sihouette of some guy's arm sticking up out of the water, because judging by the side of the waves in the water, "Nessie" looks MUCH too small. And if you notice how broken the water is on a big lake like that, you can tell that it's something small. I'm not saying that Nessie doesn't exist or never existed (i honestly think she's dead right about now) but Im just saying I dont believe in THAT particular picture

Somebody agrees with me? Wow. Anyway Right Whales float when they die, that's why they're called Right Whales. Yeah, only bone-fish have swim-bladders-I better shut up 'cause I'm repeatin' everthin' yer sayin'. But we think similiar.
