Lemmie just go back in time again, towards my question. I guess, in a way, everyone has their own way of judging art. "Judging", in a way as to see if the artist is of a respectable reputation. Juuchuan and Grheah are both right...to some extent. For the artist DOES have some impact upon what someone thinks of a particular piece, but also partly because everyone loks at certain arts in certain ways...

At a certain extent everyone does have their taste. But there is a basis of how good art is. Let me see if I went on the net and got two different pictures for you. I chose pictures of deer.

Clearly you can see that the second artist is of a higher skill level. You can like the first picture all you want . but you cannot deny that the second artist knows how to draw deer better. Everyone does not have a style. Artist with technical skills too low have no styles, what looks like a style is actually how they interpret real-life subjects and since they really haven't practiced enough, it comes out looking a certain way.Even artists who are very good at drawing may not have a style, some may till be searching for one that truely identify's them.

You judge art by a few factors, the concept, how well the picture shows its concept, and also how well the person has rendered what they want to show.To say that everyones art is good because they have a style means you are putting everyone on equal terms and thus, destroy any possibility of achievement in art.

Did you know that people tried abstract art just to get away from the ideas of conventional beauty? That tells you something doesn't it?

Personally favorites is no way to chose an artist if you were going to pick a fav artist you should have a fair vote with everyone who draws in that pool because for the option of 'other' it could refer to any artist and don't they have a right to be listed just as much as the popular ones?
