Volta usualy stayed asleep until he was needed to hunt during the noon and evening hours. Good thing he always sleeps in for energy.

Cammile stood up and looked at the window. Her ears perked and instantly ducked into hiding when she saw wolves creeping past the house, sniffing around.

Volta caught a sent of wolves as they walked by and spring awake and started barking for his owner.

"Shhh!" Cammile barked at him. "You're gonna catch their attention!"

Volta didn't pay attention but soon the human came running into the room with a gun, "What is it?!" he yelled over his barks.
Volta stopped barking and sniffed again then looued outside at the window.

Cammile looked out as well, but the wolves, haven seen the human, were already running off into the woods.

Volta stopped growling when he no longer saw the wolves, he thought he scarred them off.
The human was confused but set the gun by the door, just in case it was suddenly needed again.

Cammile flicked her tail. "You're lucky they ran off." she noted.

"My job to protect." he said not knowing what was going on at all.

"You go out there and they woulda slaughtered you without hesitation." she said, walking over to him.

"Oh? And how do you know this?" he questioned.

"I'm not stupid." she reminded. "I know how vicious wolves can be. I've heard stories."

"ah, guess that makes sence... say, why where they here anyway. Wolves barely dare to ask to be in here.

Cammile paused. "Uh..i dunno." she said, making sure to keep consistent with her lie. "Maybe..they were looking for food?"

"Why way into town though, the meat shop was 2 blocks away from here, towards the forest." said Volta.
