There was silence from the room and then a slam of a window as the sound of police sirens cut through the air. Alfred kicked the door harshly, and it budged open. He ran in, looking around for Arthur.
"Arthur?!?" he called frantically. A small moan came in response from behind the door, and Alfred moved it out of the way.
"Y-you git..you shoved me.." Arthur mumbled, lying on his side, gripping his shoulder tightly. A police man and an ambulance had arrived, and pushed their way into Arthur's room. The Brit whimpered as he was lugged up onto the gurney, and was sitting there for a moment. Alfred hugged Riley, beginning to cry into her hair.

I sucked in a bit of air and Alfred hugged me tight, I hadn't even seen what had happened to Arthur, but I didn't want to see. I sniffled and began to sob with Alfred, I sobbed into his chest and rapped my arms around his waist. Then I saw Arthur, a huge gash down his shoulderblade "Aw f***..." I muttered as they pushed past my and Alfred to take Arthur into the cab. I frowned as I pulled away from Alfred and tugged him after Arthur "Com-come on A-Alfred, we ne-need to go with Arthur..." My voice cracked and I sobbed a little more, clutching Alfred's hand tightly as I fallowed the people who were taking Arthur.

Alfred nodded solemnly, fixing his glasses.
"Yeah, we'll follow them to the hospital." he said quietly. Arthur's room was big and white, his little hospital bed leaned forward so hecould read. It was the next day, an he acte as if nothing had happened. His parents visited, and payed for te bills, but supprisingly didn't stay long.
Alfred yawned as he shook himself awake. He'd fallen asleep in a chair, gazing over at Aryhur softly.
"Iggy.." he muttered, causing Arthur's eyes to flick from his book to Alfred.
"Oh..hey." The Brit replied quietly, smiling a tad.

That was possibly the longest night ever for me, to start out they didn't let me go in the room with Arthur when he was being operated on. Me and Alfred pretty much cried in each other's arms during that. Not to mention that I wasn't even prepared to meet Arthur's parents, but there they were, their cold eyes judging me. I hadn't spoken to them, they hadn't spoken to me. And then there was the time period when both me and Alfred sat in that room, looking down on Arthur with thoughtful eyes. But I only held Arthur's unresponding hand until he'd woken up. But then he'd insited on reading so I was forced to let go of his hand. I hadn't slept at all that night, not one wink of sleep. So I was happy when Alfred woke up and began to speak.

Arthur looked over to Riley and smiled, setting his book down.
"You g-guys are the best friends ever." he muttered, seeing as it hurt to speak. He let out a sigh and looked to Alfred.
"How bad was it?" he asked, before Alfred's eyes widened.
"You mean you don't remember..anything?" the American asked, looking completely bewildered.
"No," Arthur snorted, then winced. "I remember walking ion my room, the door locked, Sean pinned me to the wall, I turned on the lights, an he stabbed me." He said plainly, placing two fingers where the knife had been.

My eye lids felt heavy as Arthur spoke "It's best you don't remember how bad everything was" I said through a yawn. "But you had to get some stitches, they're the kind that dissolves so you won't have to come back here..." I rubbed my jaw line and then my eyes, trying to get the sleep out of them. I looked at my crossed legs a bit then sighed in tiredness, it wasn't like I hadn't pulled all-nighters before, but the worry of last night had made me sleepy.

Arthur smirked the slightest bit, and leaned his head back.
"I'm sorry you guys ha to see that.." he murmured and Alfred frowned.
"What do you mean Iggy?" he asked and Arthur looked up at the American with sad eyes.
"See Sean, what terrible person he is...how he's hurt me..." The brit muttered, looking down at his book. There was a knock on the door and a police woman came in.
"Arthur Kirkland? Were here to talk about your case," She said, pullin up a Chair. Aryhur frowned and looked to Riley, then Alfred, then back to the cop.
"Alright, what do you want to know?"

The cop that came in was a short, plump, man with a bright red face and curly brown hair. He cleared his throat as he entered the room and stood at the foot of Arthur's bed "Can you discribe your attacker?" he said, but I answered for Arthur "He's Scottish, around...17 or 18 years of age, red hair, blue eyes..." The police officer nodded and wrote something on his clip board "And has he attacked you before?" He asked.

"I can speak for myself thank you," Arthur snapped as a nurse injected some medicine into his wrist.
"He's my neighbor, Sean Carter. Yes he has attacked me before in a... Different manner, however." Arthur said, gazing down at the clipboard. Alfred looked out the window, as if waiting for Sean to appear at the mention of his name.

I was a bit taken aback when Arthur snapped at me and felt my heart sink. I wanted to say that I was sorry for answering for him but just bit my lip and pulled my knees to my chest "Mhm," The detective grumbled scribbling down a few more words "And he's you're nieghbor? Well we've already checked his house, he's not there, but we'll kep and eye out for him. In the mean time, I suggest you stay with a friend at all times..." The detective said in a calm and rather bored, voice. I nodded and yawned agian. I couldn't fight my tired eyes any longer, I lolled my head on my shoulders and began snoring queitly.

Arthur looked apologetically at Riley, only to see she was sleeping. He sighed and nodded.
"He won't be back for a couple months...it's what he dis last time." The Brit huffed, stretching his legs. Alfred yawned and looked at Arthur's little heart monitor. I hope I can be there when you stop beeping.. he thought, continuing to gaze at the machine.

I didn't want to sleep, but I couldn't fight my tired eyes anymore. I didn't dream, too tired for even that. Though I did wonder if we'd stay in the hospital musch longer. Maybe Alfred would carry me to the car like my parents used to, but he probably wouldn't. The idea of getting up made me sad, I didn't want to move.

The cop talked for a while, asking too many questions, wanting toknow too many things. Arthur's head hurt from all the information he was going out, processing all the talking. Later that day he was released from the hospital, and was sent home. Alfred Sid end up carrying Riley out, putting her to bed as soon as they got home. When she woke later, Arthur was sitting at the kitchen table, drinking tea.
"Alfred, I want to take Riley out for a drink tonight." he said, not noticing her. Alfred raised his eyebrows and smiled.
"Why?" he asked and Arthur shrugged. "I took you out, now I need to take her out." he said.

My eyes finally opened and I rolled on my side. The afternoon light filtered in through the window and I smiled. A yawn escaped my mouth as I reached my arms over my head to stretch. It wasn't cold in the room like it had been the night before, it was rather warm actually. I sat up and rubbed my head, blinking the sleep out of my eyes. I sighed and got dressed into a pair of skinny jeans and my favorite blue T-shirt. I yawned agian and went to brush my hair and teeth. When I came downstairs I heard something about going out for a drink. I smiled slightly and rubbed my left eye "Good morning, or afternoon, or whatever time of day it is right now" I chuckled walking into the kitchen and beggining to make myself a cup of coffee.

Arthur and Alfred lifted their heads in unison, and both smiled.
"Afternoon, sleepy head. Dude you slept for like four hours!!" Alfred chuckled, nodding towards the coffee pot which had fresh coffee in it.
"So Arthur, are you sure you wanna take her out, I mean..what if something happens?" The American whispered quietly, leaning over to Arthur.
"Uh, yeah. Common Alfie you know I'm not that...ick." Arthur replied, Rolling his eyes.
