Glad to see that they finally seemed to have a direction, Avienda trotted after Dana, Joe, and Lakota. She stopped suddednly when she heard Drew whisper from behind her. She spun around to face him, her lips slightly curled back in the best impression of a snarl Avienda could muster. She relaxed at Drew's confession that he was scared, but Avienda wasn't about to agree with him. "I'm not scared," she stated simply. "I know how dangerous they can be. Then again, I know that I could them." She turned back to the others who were now much farther ahead then her and Drew, and she started walking after them, saying over her shoulder, "Being cautious and being scared are two very different things."

Drew's smile faded as soon as Avienda rounded on him and nearly snarled. Or she would've, he guessed, had that sound been available to her now. He was a bit taken aback at her sudden anger at him. Or... perhaps he just caught her off guard? No matter what the reason, Drew was attempting to go for a softer reply. The response she chose hurt him, and he stayed back behind the group long after she had hurried to catch up to them. He kept his hands in his pockets, walking carefully, and staring at the ground below him.
It occurred to him that perhaps he didn't need to be a fox anymore. Maybe he could just stay this way... for a while. It wasn't so bad once you got used to it. And besides... being a human sure did warrant not getting killed by one. Shaking his head, Drew got rid of the thoughts. Was he crazy? Maybe all the madness was getting to him. He needed to have his mind clear. And being the sort of introvert he was, alone was the best way to do so. He stayed behind the group, not saying a single word so as not to be noticed that he lagged behind.
