"Okay, I'll give it a shot," Taran said, going to the cage door and sticking his paw out. He stuck a claw into the lock hanging there and moved it around the contraption. Taran was about to give up when there was the sound of a click and the lock fell to the ground as the cage door opened wide.

Tracy hugged her brother. "Thank you!"
Martha peeked out and looked around. "Alright, no sign of him, let's go hurry and find a way out."
Michael nodded. "Yeah, we escape, we might be able to find a way to be human again."

Taran smiled as Tracey wrapped him in a dog hug. "Well what are we waiting for? Lets go!" he said, already heading out the door.
Joy bit on Taran's tail to stop him from rushing out. "Hold up there. You don't want Adrian to catch us escaping, now, do you?" she said to him.
Sadie nodded in agreement to Joy. "We have to be sure he's not going to see us," she said.
Trey inched closer to the door, excited to get out. "I don't smell him. So can we leave now?"

Martha looked around carefully. "Alright, cost is clear, lets go," she said, sneaking out, Michael and Tracy following. "But be quiet, he's got other animals on his side, he can control them with his powers."

Taran nodded at Martha and followed her. "We'll be careful. Don't worry," he said.

Martha pushed them all against a wall as a crow went overhead, searching. "Ok...when it passes by again, we run for it, ok?"

Taran nodded at Martha's place, getting ready to make a run for it.

Martha waited for the bird to pass again. "Ok...now!" she whispered, taking off, Michael and Tracy following.

Taran panted heavily as they reached the woods. "We're out!" he shouted excitedly.
Joy jumped around and rolled in the grass. "I can't believe we did it!" she barked.
Trey laid down in the grass, taking a deep breath of fresh air as he laid in the sun.
Sadie glanced all around her, taking in the outdoor sights that she hadn't seen in years. "This is just amazing," she said softly.

Martha felt the grass in her paws. "So...this is what it feels like to have grass under your bare paws," she said. "Kind of nice..."
Michael did the same as Joy. "I can't believe it! We're out of the circus for the first time!"

Taran sat on the ground and sighed. "But we're still dogs," he said sadly. "Where are we supposed to go now? We can't go home."

"Hey dude, don't be a bummer ok?" asked Michael. "We want to find that out to, but we should probably relax right now, we haven't been out of that tent for years...please let us enjoy it a little, ok?"

"I'm just saying that I would like to go home soon," Taran said matter-of-factly.
