Blaze slapped Humphrey across the snout, claws scratching the Omega's face. "This isn't a joke you mangy mutt," said Blaze, angry. "You're an Omega, you aren't even supoosed to mate with an Alpha! You shouldn't even be near an Alpha at all!"

Aurora and the other pups heard this. "We'd better go get Kate," she whispered too lowly for the older wolves to hear, sneaking off to tell Kate.

"Yeah, you're right," said Kate. "It's just sometimes I worry for Humphrey, that he'll get in trouble...you feel the same way for Garth, right?"

"I know how you feel," said Winston. "Things have changed a lot, now we're elders, advisors instead of leaders."

Humphrey snapped his eyes shut, sucking air through gritted teeth as his face as scratched. He didn't say anymore, shocked and surprised. He lowered himself, still wincing at the sting of the air on his face.

Yana grinned, glancing at Blaze. "Good. We've got you acting liek you should be around us..." she said coolly, leaning over him; he backed down rather fast. "See how much better things are when you stay in your own place?"

One of the pups, a nervous looking little male, slinked next to Aurora. "Kate's not gonna be happy..."

"I think it's the opposite for us," said Lilly, still worried. "I mean, some wolves may not like Humphrey and me, think that we're overstepping boundaries. Garth tries to be by me as much as he can to prevent anything happening."

Tony nodded. "But it isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like to think kids still listen to their elder's advice..." he said, with a shrug.

"Yeah, but we'd better make sure he remembers," said Blaze, his mean streek coming out. He walked around Humphrey and mule kicked him in the groin so hard it lifted him off the ground. "A reminder to keep that tail down around a supereor."

"That's what I'm worried about..." said Kate, worriedly. "There are some who think position is something that can be earned, they might try to hurt Humphrey to get higher up...he's not a fighter, that's just not him."

Aurora nodded. "I know, but we can't let Mr. Humphrey get bullied, it's not right..." she said as she lead along.

"Kate tries," said Winston. "Well, to mine. She may look a good bit like Eve, but she tends to try more peaceful solutions first."

Humphrey gasped hard, crouching with us belly to the ground. He gritted his teeth hard. All he could do was nod.

Lilly nodded. "But he's not even trying to get higher up. Humphrey just loves you." she said, becoming increasingly worried.

Yana grinned, stepping on Humphrey's head, pushing hmm further into the grass and dirt. "Good mongrel." she said, lookng smug.

The pup, named Tobias, nodded. "I don't want them to hurt Mr. Humphrey..."

Tony nodded, smiling lightly. "Its far different than what we have done in the past. But there's always a time for action."

"Good," said Blaze with a laugh. He then kicked Humphrey in the nose hard enough to bloody it. "Now, say you're a dumb, mangy Omega and apologize for getting a swelled head," he said, now trying to humiliate him.

Kate was about to say something when she saw the little pups run up. "Aurora? Were's Humphrey?" she asked, concerned.

"Some mean wolves came and are being REALLY mean to him!" said Aurora, concerned.

Kate snarled. "Lilly, stay with these pups, don't tell mom a word of this," she said, heading the way the pups had come from. "If anyone is ripping someones limbs off for this, I'll do the ripping," she growled, speeding up.

"Yeah, and Humphrey is all for the peaceful solutions," said Winston. "To be honest, he'd never survive if Kate was like her mother, but the way Kate is, they're perfect."

Humphrey groaned, seeing blood drip from his nose. He groaned louder, coughing. He didn't look at Blaze or Yana. He also didn't say anything. No matter how much of an Omega, but he had self respect.

Lilly looked terrified, and only nodded as the pups crowded around her. She wondered what wolves could be harassing Humphrey.

Tobias whimpered, looking at Aurora. "Think Kate will set everything right?" he asked, knowing she would.

"Naughty Omega, not listening to your betters." said Yana, lifting her head to the air. The wind carried a scent on the wind. "A certain someone is coming. We must go." she said.

Eve smiled bashfully. "Im not really that bad am I?" she asked, nudging her mate.

Tony nodded, not willing to say anything around Eve when she piped up.

Blaze, enraged, snarled. "I'll teach you," he said, his name coming from his temper. He bit Humphrey by the shoulder and threw him ribs first into a rock, likely hard enough to bruise or crack a few.

Kate suddenly pounced on Blaze and threw him hard into Yana. "Stay away from my mate," she growled, furious but letting a cool head prevail, but she stayed firmly between her mate and his tormentors. "I understand not everyone likes, that is the only reason I'm not about to banish you both from the pack right this very second!" she snarled, she was worried for Humphrey, but needed to get the bullies away to do so. "This time, you don't eat tonight," she said. "But if you EVER lay a paw on my mate, or even look in his direction, you know what's going to happen?" she asked, dead serious.

Aurora nodded. "Kate will, she'll teach those bullies a lesson, that's for sure!"

"Of course not Eve," said Winston nuzzling her. "Just peaceful solutions aren't your thing."

Humphrey's mouth opened wide, but no sound came out. It was as if there was no sound that could equal the pain he felt in his ribs. He slumped to the ground, dazed and breathing hard.

Yana helped as she felt Blaze's weight on her. She looked at Kate with clenched teeth and a worried look on her face. She definitely could not say she was sorry.

Tobias nodded, relaxing slightly at her reassurance. "You always make me feel better."

Eve nodded, shrugging it off. "Sometimes peace doesn't work out. I'm all for no fighting, but sometimes it doesn't happen that way."

Blaze got to his feet. "What will happen?" he asked, intimdated.

Kate got in the faces of both Betas. "Why I'm Eve's daughter, take a wild guess," she said in a calm voice, mimicing her mother's, but her look was one of complete seriousness.

Aurora smiled. "That's what friends are for," she said, then looked at Lilly. "Hi Miss Lilly!"

"I know, honey," said Winston. "I'm just saying our daughter is a better negotiator than the two of us combined."

Tobias smiled wide, happy he had such a good friend.

Lilly smiled weakly, looking at the pup. "Hello to you. Are you all okay?" she asked in a worried voice.

Yana's eyes widened and her body was low to the ground. "Dont tell yer either..." she said, knowing well that Kate knew how afraid afraid of Eve everyone was. Yana stood shakily, tail between her legs.

Eve nodded, looking very serious. "She is the finest Alpha we've ever trained. But her negotiation skills are unmatched, that's all her."

"We oky, but we're worried about Mr. Humphrey," whined little Aurora.

Blaze reacted exactly the same as his partner, that wasn't a good idea.

"Good, now get out of my sight," Kate snarled, seeing a nice split log behind them and pushed them both, sending them flying out of control down the hill. She then went over the Humphrey, giving a soft whine. "Humphrey? Are you ok?" she asked, worried sick.

Winston nodded. "I know, I'm proud of her, no doubt."
