I attempted to make a decent balto relatedf sparkledog - NOT because i favour sparkledogs - just ot see if it can be done

im not sure if i succeeded - but would you class this as more acceptable?

It isn't as bad as some I've seen, so I guess it would be.

A bit off topic, but not only are sparkle dogs out of control, so are the animals that are allowed. Any animal can be a character as long as it relates to Balto in some way. So that means I could make an elephant character and say it lives in Nome and is a cousin to Balto.

The site is suffering and is in pain! We must ease its suffering! But yeah, I REALLY don't get why any animal can be allowed...As a matter of fact I think it's just as bad as sparkle dogs. I also don't recall Steet ever saying that any animal can be allowed. Unless I missed it... Bottom line, there is WAY too much freedom going on here, and that freedom of being able to do whatever is going to bring down this site in the end.

One wonders how people even THINK of the relationships...

There doesn't need to be a source for sparkle dogs, people can take their weird creations and stick them somewhere else. WHY, WHY, WHY, do people have to post their stuff here, or better yet, why do they need to? There are other sites post them on.

I don't understand why Steet can't change the rules around here, I mean, it's like he doesn't even want to deal with us any longer. The relationships these users are coming up with are completely insane. I could make a chihuahua and say he raced with Balto one day -_- And I guarantee he would be gladly accepted. ( Not that I'm blaming the moderators or anything ) People complain about the rules being to uptight, or whatever, I believe their too easy going. A lot of these members need to be straightened up, excluding the ones who actually read the rules before joining, and continue to follow them.

We've all tried, believe me. I hate that sparkle characters (among other things) are allowed on the site now as well. But steet doesn't care anymore. There's so much we can do when our big boss won't lift a finger.

I could have swore he said as long as it's in the Balto movies it could be accepted (and - omg! - that would mean no fugly sparklewolves!!). But I doubt anyone will ever know for sure seeing as he just doesn't give a care about any of the sources but TSS anymore. :\

My guess is that Balto source is convenient...
it's not as HUMONGOUS as DA where all your art is just a speck in the universe..this site is learger than most fansites, BUT, it's small enough so people can see your art and characters and you get more popular or something, that would be my guess...however, DA has CLUBS,Sparkle woofle clubs too and emo, and a club for ANYTHING under the sun xD they should just post them there, but it might be all the rules that hold them back.

This isn't what I heard. There are CAT characters on BS, and I don't remember there being any felines in Balto either...

Steet did say pretty much anything is allowed as long as it has a good balto relation. Plus I'm sure it has to actually make sense. Like you wouldn't see something like an Iguana in alaska, balto relation or not. They wouldn't survive, being cold blooded.

I love how most of those are either A; made with a flash game (blows your "creativity" argument out of the water. Clicking buttons =/= character development) or B; obvious Warriors characters.

However, there is one exception and that is the lynx. Lynx's do live in Alaska as far as I'm aware, but I don't know how on earth someone would relate a lynx to Balto characters. (They'd probably put something like 'Tried to eat Boris once.')
