Rose took a few steps away from Griffin as she realized why he wasn't okay. She didn't want to cause him anymore pain, so she quickly backstepped away from him until a strong hand gripped her arm and pulled her on the ground. Rose glanced around and finally spotted the person who had pulled her down and prevented her from walking right into the blazing fire. Cale released her from his grip and continued stoking the fire with a long stick which was already burnt black at the other end. Rose looked around for Jamie, hoping her friend would help Griffin.

Cale continued staring into the fire, ignoring Rose as she fratically kept glancing around. "Calm down. He'll be fine as long as you aren't too close," Cale told her in a voice that could have been more comforting. Cale watched Devin and Haley and wondered if this event would interrupt their 'deep' conversation.

Haley didn't turn around, but nodded in response to Devin's words. "Well, we've all got our deep secrets," she said, gaining back her composure but unable to bring a sincere smile back to her face. She turned around in time to see Rose backing away from Griffin and the flash of red in his eyes. Cale seemed to have taken care of Rose though, so Haley took her time walking towards the fire. "Don't act like you don't have a past secret too," she told him before taking a seat on Rose's other side.

Griffin sighed with relief when Rose was taken away from his perimeter. He looked around into the deeper forest and then back to Rose and the other werewolves. Devin had quickly followed Hayley and sat next to the fire, trying to act as calm as possible, but truly worried for the human girl unlike his comrades, if that was what he should call them. Griffin looked down at the ground and regained his composure. "I'm sorry Rose," he said silently, the normal color returning to his solid blue eyes. "I have to go for a while. I'll be back in about an hour." He attempted to smile at her but only succeeded faintly. "I don't know what it is..." he admitted. "I usually don't need to feed this often." His eyes searched the ground, as if the answer was lying there somewhere and all he had to do was analyze and pick it up. "I guess I'm not supposed to be so close to humans..." he trailed off, trying to think of how to finish off before saying goodbye for a little whle. "Though, I don't know what I'd do if it ever happened again..." he was referring to his past yet again, the memories flooding back. "If what happened to her happens to you, I-... I'll never forgive myself." His sad eyes turned up to look at her and then he came a few steps closer. "I'll be back soon." He tilted his head and attempted that smile again. This time he was able to get it more onto his face.

He let the smile fade as he turned to Jamie. "Jamie, can you do me a little favor?"

Jamie nodded and stepped closer.

"Can you make sure the werewolves take care of her? And don't..." he hoped that Jamie would understand the meaning of the words left out. 'Take her away from us.'

Jamie nodded. "I promise." She walked closer to where the werewolves were, though didn't get too close for fear of being outnumbered. She had gotten the message and would see to it that Griffin's request wasn't just thrown out carelessly from one ear to the other.

Rose nodded at Griffin. "I understand," she said, even though that wasn't completely true. She understood why he had to leave for a while, but she wasn't sure of the meaning behind of of his other words. She wondered who the 'her' was that he mentioned, and once again Rose wished she knew more about his past. From what she understood, it wasn't good, but that was about all that she had been able to infer so far. Finally Jamei went to him, and Rose watched the two of them whispering. She strained her ears, but couldn't even hear the faint sound of their lips moving. She wanted to know what words they were exchaning and why it was so secretive that no one else could hear.

Cale tossed his stick into the fire and watched the ashes fly into the sky. He craned his neck so he could look over to where Devin and Haley were sitting. "So what were you two talking about so far?" he asked nonchalantly, but also really wanting to hear their answer.

Griffin nodded and turned to run off. As he did so, a sort of whizzing sound came through the air. The leaves on the ground flew about before stopping at the sudden release of pressure. Griffin was gone. Off to kill.

Jamie sat down near the others, though still managed to keep her distance. She was always the type to be a bit quieter, and it sometimes worked to her advantage. When you're silent, others tended to forget you were even there. You could listen to their words without interrupting and could know every sentence they said without having to peer into the conversation. She could hear everything they were saying. She could have from far away, but she was close and since she was, the vibrating voices echoed in her sensitive ears.

"Rose, you may as well go with the werewolves." She got very close to Rose in order to whisper to her. "I'll make sure they can't hold you hostage." She gave a laugh to reassure Rose, and herself, and scooted back a bit. Eventually, she crossed her legs to sit indian-style, and although she was still listening to the werewolves, her mind was wandering far far away from the place she was now.

Devin shrugged calmly. "Nothing much. Just thoughts, memories," he replied.

Rose nodded at Jaime, even though she was already sitting between to of the werewovles. Rose wasn't worried at all that the werewolves would hold her hostage, and she was about to ask Jaime if she should worry about that. Rose then noticed that far away look in Jaime's eye, and decided not to ask afterall. Instead, she turned back to the werewolves conversation, sensing some tension coming from Cale's direction.

Cale couldn't help but feel a little left out from this talk of thought and memories. Cale had even of them make good conversation, but would he have even said anything if he had been involved. "Well, I hope the two of you had a nice heart-to-heart," he said sarcastically, throwing the two of them a quick glare before staring into the fire again.

Haley rolled her eyes at Cale's overreaction. "What's pulling on your tail?" she asked him with a raised eyebrow.

Cale held back a growl and forced himself to keep looking at the flames. "Nothing, babe. These vamps just have me on age," he replied in his most even and uncaring tone.

Haley was taken by surprise at Cale's choice of nickname. She blinked at him a few times before deciding not to comment.

Jamie was a bit stunned at the werewolf's choice of words too, but like Hayley, said nothing. She knew all too well that these creatures had every right not to accept her. After all, she shouldn't have either. However, she never held grudges against anyone. She was just the friendly, all around happy kind of girl. It should have been rare for her to be angry at anyone. This was one of the reasons she didn't make for such a great ally in a fight.

She really wanted to speak out, but again didn't say a word. She wanted to hear more before deciding to say something.

Devin shrugged again, but didn't really say much either. Then he found something to say in response finally. "The vampires can't take all the blame." He shot Cale a glance. "Listen man, I know you've had it hard, but clearly you're not the only one." He didn't even need to glance around to be able to make the point apply to everyone. "And insulting you're own kind doesn't really help much, either."

Cale sighed, not turning to his head to even send a glance towards Devin. "Whatever," he said with a shrug before he suddenly stood up and headed into the trees. "I need to go for a run," he muttered so only the wolves and Jaime would hear him. As he walked into the thick forest, he stripped of his shirt, feeling the light of the almost full moon shining down on his skin. The hairs alone his arms stood on end from the wondrous feeling of the moon light, and he began to run through the woods preparing to leave his skin behind.

Haley sighed as the male wolf left, leaving behind the strong scent of wolf. The smell reminded Haley that the full moon would be upon within a week's time, and they were much to close to a town to be loosing control like that. She was about to call out to Cale and tell him it was too dangerous to change, but he was already gone by the time she opened her mouth. "It's starting to get late," she finally said. "We all should get some rest."

Rose nodded at Haley at the suggestion of going to sleep. Her eye lids were already drooping as she stared into the fire. "Sleep sounds really good right now," she agreed.

Jamie nodded after watching Cale leave. "Sleep would be great," she said. "I haven't slept in a while..." she breathed, and laid her head down right next to Rose. "How are you doing?" She whispered. She really wanted to talk to Rose like a friend once more. Like they used to when they were younger and having sleepovers all the time. And now that she didn't have to hide a secret and wasn't in a house that made her weak, it could be all the more charming to strike a conversation with her best friend. She gave a smile as she awaited Rose's answer.

Meanwhile, Griffin was rushing through the forest. Unawaredly, in the same direction Cale had headed off into. If he slowed down, the two may have clashed paths. And exactly that the vampire did, though he wasn't aware of the werewolf's presence somwhere in the distance. He was too concerned with watching the almost still town in front of his eyes. He gulped down a dry breath and breathed out even though he didn't necessarily have to. This would be a problem, he thought. Having to get blood so often. He wasn't used to having to feed this much, even if the killing wasn't really a problem.

Still, he'd have to deal with it, he decided. Otherwise, Rose would be in danger and everyone else too if Griffin couldn't be near her. He would become even more unstable than before. However, for the most part, he seemed calm enough. Now that the werewolves were out of sight and he was alone at last. He was relaxing now at night. The nearly full moon was breathtaking in his shining eyes, and he breathed out another breath as some strength seemed to fill him.

Although his necklace kept him from burning to a crisp under the sunlight, that didn't mean that he wasn't in his element at night. In the darkness was when he triumphed most.

A distant though occurred to him. What would happen if the council was tracking them? Would they try to stake them in the heart or worse? Griffin immediately pushed that thought away, trying to concentrate once more on the matter at hand.

Suddenly, the faint vibrating sound of voices echoed in his ears and his eyes flitted forwards. Just ahead were three men. They looked drunk and had just turned an ally. Perfect.

Griffin let his fangs grow out as the thirst began to overtake him. He sped towards the trio, who were all too stunned to react too much. Griffin had the first on the ground before he even had time to move. The other two were becoming frantic, not even sure what to do. As they turned to run away, though, Griffin screeched and got up, cutting them off before they had the chance to turn onto the main street. His eyes flashed red, and stayed that color.

He grabbed them both by the necks and slammed them on the concrete. They wouldn't get away. He hissed, and they cowered back, obviously scared to death of the creature who seemed human but wasn't in any way. Griffin returned to feed on the first human, but kept a wary eye on the other two. He now had them backed up against the wall, and the second one of them twitched to move, Griffin sprang back and revealed his blood stained fangs.

They were trapped.

When he finished with the first one, he got up, wiped his mouth of the warm blood, and grinned in satisfaction. He took a look at the other two men and grinned, showing his teeth which were all covered in the crimson colored liquid. His eyes flashed darker and became the same exact color of the stains on his clothes and teeth, and Griffin hissed again. The men put their hands over their bodies, obviously terrified and shaking tremendously. Oh how the vampire loved to strike fear in the hearts of the pitiful humans.

He dashed to the left one's throat, and the one on the right became even more petrified as his friend was screaming with terror and pain. He attempted to get up and run, but Griffin put his other hand out without even moving his head from the neck and holding the man on the right by his own neck. He wasn't pushing enough to strangle him or choke him, for, he wanted to see the fear in his eyes as he died by drainage of blood, however, he was holding him hard enough that if the man made a daring move he could easily have snapped his own breathing life line.

When Griffin was done with the second human, the body slumped to the blood covered ground and he turned viciously to the third remaining. "Ready to die?" He said with a murderous look in his eye. The man shook his head. "P-please. PLEASE!" He tried to plead, but Griffin went for his neck before he had a chance to cry out again. The blood trickled everywhere. The warm liquid flowed all through the vampire's mouth and around his fangs and tongue. He was enjoying the feeling of triumph all too much, and any onlooker would have thought him a thousand times worse than just a simple demon.

OOC: I changed Griffin's text color. Hope ya don't mind.

Rose leaned back until she was laying on the ground next to Jaime. Rose thought for a few moments before answering her best friend. How was Rose doing? Over the past twenty-four hours, her life had completely changed. She thought she'd be spending the rest of her lige cooped up in that house, and now she was sleeping on the ground with two vampires and three werewolves while her face was probably being posted on Wanted posters all over the city. She'll never be able to return home again and may die out here without ever saying good-bye to her parents, and yet, Rose doesn't fell all that bad or worried. In fact, her mind is still buzzing from the excitement of it all, and she just realized how tired she was when she laid her head down.

"Well, I think I'm doing pretty good. Great, actually. I mean... well, I don't really know how to describe it. So much as changed since this morning, but it doesn't exactly feel wrong. You know what I mean?" Rose asked, biting her lip slightly and realizing that Jamie probably had no idea what Rose was trying to say.

Haley stood up and tossed a handful of dirt on top of the dying embers in the fire, stomping down the last bit of smoke with her foot. Satisfied that the fire was completely dead, Haley finally stepped away from Rose and Jamie, seeing them talking quietly and wanting to give them a bit of privacy. She sat down against the same try she and Devin had been talking by eariler. She curled up at the base of the tree, laying her head on one of the roots. She was used to sleeping in situations like this, but she wondered if the human would be able to take to this way of life without any serious trouble.

Cale slowed his pace when he finally thought he was far enough from the campsite and even farther from the borders of the town nearby. His footsteps stopped completely, and Cale lifted his face up to stare at the moonlight sky. The moon seemed to embrace him as the cool night wind brushed his long bangs away from his face. Willing the change to come, Cale slowly collapsed to his knees, the energy from the moon pumping furiously through his viens.

A chill ran up through his spine, causing Cale to fall forward on to his hands. His fingers dug into the soft earth as he reached the point of no return. He slowly slipped out of the rest of his clothing as a thin layer of fur sprouted along his whole body. His body folded in on itself as it prepared to change shape, and Cale obliged to the signals his mind was sending to his body. The familar sensation of his skin sliding across his bones was still slightly uncomfortable, and he'd be lying if he said the sound of his bones popping out of place and cracking as they readjusted into a new creature didn't scare him slightly everytime he phased.

Finally, after several excurciating minutes, Cale's body relaxed into it's wolf form. His dark grey furred shoulders heaved as he panted heavily, exhausted and thrilled at the same time from the phasing. Cale's mind had been drained of all energy from the raw memories of Lexi, but in his wolf form, his brain let all those emotions slip away and left him with pure instinct. All thoughts of how he should only change half way to retain some of his human reason were left behind as soon as he had began to phase. His large paws pounded against the ground as he took of further into the trees.

The wind whipped through his fur, but his eyes and ears were keen to any sight or sound that came within ten feet of him. This new creature was no longer Cale, and all thoughts were degraded to images and scents, sounds and sensations. Cale's world decreased to just this area of the woods, just the sky, just the stars and the moon. And the sweet, warm smell of a distant deer.

Cale changed his direction in under a second, running at speeds impossible for any normal wolf. His need for a fresh kill drove Cale to track down the deer, finding the buck alone and surprising awake. Cale's padded feet were silent against the forest earth as he stalked closer and closer to his prey. When he was barely six feet away, the larger than normal wolf sped off after the male deer. In one second, the buck's eyes widened and it made a motion to run away. Within the next second, Cale had the buck's thick neck inside his jaws, crushing the bones with the force of his jaw. The metallic taste of blood filled the wolf's mouth as his canines punctured the warm flesh easily.

The buck was dead instantly, and Cale wasted no time burying his fangs into the soft stomach of the prey. It had been almost a week since Cale went for a real hunt, and the fresh taste of the deer's meat satisfied the wolf's hunger for now. He tore of the last bit of meat from the protruding ribs, chewing on the bone to clean out the peices still stuck in his teeth.

Stomach filled, Cale's eyes began to droop in sheer exhaustion. Resting a few feet from his dinner, Cale made himself comfortable in the underbrush of the forest. As soon as he closed his eyes, sleep overtook him.

Jamie thought about Rose's response for a moment. After going through the previous events she herself had experienced, she had to say that Rose's seemed spectacularly full of adventure. It would have been frightening to most humans, but Jamie knew her friend better. She knew Rose wasn't scared easily. She knew better than most others that Rose was strong, brave, and could handle most anything. Though, she still hadn't gotten the full details of what happened before she was involved. Sleep was becoming a more and more evident factor in her mind. She hadn't slept for days. Alas, usually vampires didn't need to sleep if they didn't want to. But going for more than three days at a time without rest could put a strain on even a supernatural being.

Her eyes flitted open and closed with pauses between the movements. "I think I sort of do," she let out a quiet laugh. "You're going to have to give me the rest of the details tomorrow, m'kay?" She smiled widely and then let out a small yawn. "I haven't slept for three and a half days," she whispered. "Time to catch up, huh?" She added, and then slowly, her breathing became slower and more relaxed. In a few more minutes, her body lay entirely rested on the forest floor. The gentle vampire girl was asleep.

Devin noticed Hayley taking a spot by the tree from earlier and shook his head with a slight smile crossing his lips. He, too, decided to give the two females privacy, and probably Hayley as well. He curled up beside another tree nearby, but not too far away. This way, he gave everyone else their space without having to stay too far apart from them. His eyes drifted closed and it wasn't long before his body slumped against the bark, relaxed and peacefully asleep.

Griffin wiped the last of the blood off of his lips, feeling the aftertaste all over the inside of his mouth and throat. His drink had been delicious, and he was more than full for now. For now... the words crept through his mind. He would have to feed again soon, he guessed, but made it a point that it wouldn't be too soon. After all, these were three full grown men he had killed and drained fully. It would take a bit more than just one night to be able to return the thirst again.

He breathed a heavy, deep, breath, and sighed. What was he going to do with the bodies? He grabbed the three of them and hauled them onto his shoulders. They were just drunks, he decided. No one would miss them. He buried them into very shallow graves he had dug up in a matter of minutes, and after shaking a tree to cover up the dirt with leaves, he breathed heavily again and took a look around. So that was taken care of.

He didn't have much to worry about for the time being. His eyes wandered to the moon, beautiful and gleaming. It seemed such a strong character. White and more like an orb of power than just a simple light. He gloried in the nighttime breeze, the air, the stars, the beauty of it all. He felt so strong under the night's gaze.

Then a scent came into his nose and he almost froze in place. Nearby the werewolf was lying down. He crept slowly through the leaves until he came upon a sleeping figure. Fast asleep? He wondered briefly the things he could do to the werewolf off-guard, but eventually put the thoughts in the bag of his mind and shrugged it off almost entirely. He left quietly. It was about an hour later before he returned to the werewolf's dead fire, and the temporary camp the group had set up. If you could call it a group... anyway. He sat down by Jamie and Rose and watched Jamie's sleeping figure. He wondered if Rose was asleep too...? His eyes crossed until they made their way to her figure.

Rose nodded to Jamie, her eyes slowly closing as the last of her energy was put into her conversation with Jamie. She yawned widely, and when she looked backat Jamie a few seconds later, her best friend was fast asleep. Rose smiled at her friend, thinkinh about the revelation today that she was actually a vampire. Rose's mind was still having trouble comprehending that fact. All this time, Jamie was just Jamie, Rose's best friend who she told everything to. The fact that none of that changed with the knowledge that she was a vampire comforted Rose, but also frightened her. Would Rose wake up one day and finally understand that she was surrounded by supernatural creatures?

Placing those thoughts in the back of her mind, Rose's rolled over on her side in her usual sleeping position. Her vision of Jamie shifted to the view of the trees and bushes. And Griffin's form as he stepped out of the thicker part of the woods and into their clearing.

Rose lifted her head when she caught sight of him, only a shadow against the darker shadows of the nights. She smiled up at him, lifting herself up on to her elbows but not quite sitting up. In the darkness, Rose couldn't see any bloodstains on his shirt or mouth, and it was easy for her to forget where he had been for the past hour or two. "Hey," she said quietly so as not to disturb the others who were fast asleep, their deep breathes echoing though the trees.

"Hey," He responded. Although there was no evidence from sight that he wore a smile on his face, you could tell from his tone of voice. "How have things with the wolves been?" He teased. "Did they try anything, or did they ignore you?" He asked, a bit jokingly.

He wondered what was up with those guys. They either got really mad at the vampires and human or just plain flat out not even saw them. They acted as if they were inferior sometimes and then the rest of the times they would pretend the group didn't exist.

He never really liked werewolves, though he preferred to try and get along with them or at least pass a word rather than feel completely ignored. He hated the feeling his form was processing in someone's brain but not sending a sign out that the process was in progress.

Still, it was a welcome change in the vampire to want something to do with them at all. The fact he had left Cale alone instead of trying to kill him right on the spot was remarkable. Ignoring his own previous comments to Rose, he whispered, "I saw that wolf, Cale..." He breathed silently, the moon shining on their forms. "It took a lot, but for some reason..." he trailed off. "I didn't kill him." A thought occurred to him. He wondered why he hadn't. Was it because of... "I wonder if it's because of you," he said thoughtfully, his gaze up at the moon and his voice sounding slightly distant, as if he were half talking to himself.

"For the most part, they mostly just ignored Jamie and me," Rose said to Griffin with a shrug. She thought back on the last hour, and couldn't realy recall talking to either Haley, Devin, or Cale since their first meeting. When Griffin mentioned seeing Cale, Rose said, "Yeah, he left a little while ago," just before he continued his thought.

She turned her gaze away from for a moment. "What does this have to do with me?" she asked him, not understanding why she had any influence in whether or not Griffin killed the werewolf. "I mean, I wouldn't be happy if you killed him," Rose continued, begining to ramble without really thinking of what she was saying. "But it's not like a really know Cale that well. I just meet him afterall. And I know you don't really like werewolves. I guess it wouldn't matter much to me, even though it might a little."

Rose stopped herself suddenly and chewed on her lip nervously. "Sorry," she muttered realizing just how long she had been talking. "I don't know when to just shut my mouth when I get really tired."

Griffin found the strength to chuckle, if only slightly. "It's alright. Maybe I need to be rambled to." He gave a sincere grin in the moonlight to Rose. "And..." he trailed off for a minute or two, trying to think of a response to her earlier responding. "I guess... you made me see something, probably without even realizing."

He looked up at the moon once more before he continued. "Made me respect others..." He thought more on the subject. "It's true, I've always hated werewolves, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that because of you... I realized that I had no real reason to hate them."

His eyes showed the moon's reflection brightly. A breeze waved it's way to the vampire and human and he puffed out a breath of relaxed vision. "Just because werewolves ruined my life before, doesn't necessarily mean they'll do it again..." Another thought came across his mind. "Though, I won't completely let my guard down because you never know." The last sentence was carefully placed. Anyone with thinking reason would wonder if it was true, and eventually side with Griffin on it.

After all, they had just met these werewolves and hadn't talked to them much. In fact, they had more reason to disagree with them than agree. And though Rose had had a substantial impact on Griffin's way of thinking, it hadn't gone so far yet as to repair every damage that had been done to him.

Rose listened to Griffin intently, a smally smile traced her lips because she was too happy that she was helping Griffin realized he wasn't that horrible a person. But there was one thing that he said that stuck out to Rose, but she waited for him to finish what he was saying before asking him.

"What do you mean by werewolves once ruining your life?" Rose asked out of curiousity, not even thinking that maybe Griffin wouldn't want to answer the personal question.
