Before he knew it, Syvor was the only one left standing. Well, with Lily as the exception, since she escaped into the woods. Ilac was crouched down, injecting the wolf-girl and other boy, Taylor, with some kind of adrenaline. Being six-foot-two, he towered over everyone when they were standing, but with everyone else crouching down or on the ground he felt too much like a giant, so he folded his wings back a bit and headed for the wolf-girl, knowing he must have given Lily enough of annoyance today.

He didn't have time to slide to his knees before the wolf-girl stood up slowly. Knowing she was the first one to be attacked today, he was worried about her. Some of Ephra's kindness had probably rubbed off on him during those years she cared for him, when he was much, much younger, about 6. "Are you alright?" he asked, instantly realizing how stupid of a question that was. "I hoped I didn't scare you too much when I took care of the truck." he followed up with, changing the subject slightly.

Syvor let out a sigh of relief from a breath he didn't know he had been holding. "Good, I'm glad you're... good." he replied awkwardly before swiveling his head towards the other mutants all over the place. Then, he remembered Lily's suggestion for cover. Without saying a word, he folded his red wings in best he could and jogged toward the trees where he saw her dash into. His hawk vision penetrated through the darkness, quickly pinpointing her location among the bushes.

He cautiously approached her upon noticing the billows of angry smoke pumping from her mouth. He put on sort of an I-told-you-so face, crossed his arms and asked, "You believe me now?" referring to the time in the hallway she questioned if he really was like her.

Ilac turned to the Half that still seemed to be human. "Hmm, it got you near the chest. Let's see about this..." he said, looking through his first-aid kit. "Well, the regular dose should do. But I have to be careful about this." He injected the boy.

"I could've." Syvor replied to Lily's question, letting his arms hang by his sides, then shoving them in his pockets awkwardly. How could he tell her that he was a big softie when it came to others in trouble? He looked at his feet, shuffling nervously. "But I didn't." he added. "It would go against my motto." he said, with a slight grin. Syvor proceeded to state, "Whoever has the ability to take action has the responsibility to take action. My... guardian taught me that." He didn't know what to call Ephra. His friend? His foster mother? His guardian angel...? Literally on that last one, though.

He was pulled back into reality when he met Lily's gaze again. He shrugged. "I guess it's just instinct." he said casually. And it was true. He'd been taught for so long to care and help anyone at any chance he got, that it just came naturally to him, even if it would cost everything. Syvor didn't even think when he threw his jacket off to whip out his wings and dive out the two-story window. His jacket! Darn. It was still in the building. Well, I guess it didn't matter anymore since everyone here pretty much knew his secret.

He broke apart from Lily's gaze again, as if her eyes would burn a hole through him. They probably could, and that's the scary part. His voice got quieter. "But if you're asking me why I helped them, why did you help them?" he asked out of the blue. He was only curious, after all. She didn't have to follow him outside, and if she's questioning his actions, why not question hers?

Taylor tried to nod, and succeeded. As the small dose began to counteract the tranquilizer, the ghost kid could literally feel the strength coming back to him. After about two minutes, he was easily able to get up. Although easy, he decided to take it a bit slow. Kneeling on the ground in order to gain balance, he quickly put his hand on his thigh and got up in that motion. Stretching his back slightly, he powered down. His black hair turned back to it's normal golden-blonde state. His thick aqua eyes turned to a normal shade of green. You could see an eclipse shaped white light engulf around his body as this all happened. Once it passed over his whole figure, he was human again. "Phew..." he breathed, trying to catch his breath silently. "Thanks," he said to the winged medic.

"You're welcome," said Ilac. "So, what's the deal with those scientists?"

OOC: Remember, Ilac's from another world, he doesn't know about the scientists and he was made naturally.

Rue blinked in surprise, having walked over in time to hear Ilac's question. "You mean you weren't created by them?" She shook her head at the absurdity of the question; how else could he be only partly human? She stared at him increduosly for a moment before answering, thoroughly puzzled by his question.

"The scientists experimented on us. They changed up our DNA and stuff, to make us half animal. Or half ghost," she added, shooting a side glance at Taylor. "Some of us managed to escape, though. And now they want us back," she added, the last sentence growing a bit softer in terms of volume. She didn't really enjoy recounting this, it only brought back painful memories that she had tried so hard to bury.

Rue shrugged in response to Lily. "That's what happened to me," she replied. Before now, she thought that was really the only way to become a half. But now that she thought about it, it seemed likely that there was more way then one.

Taylor looked almost astonished at Ilac's question. Then when Rue finished explaining and Lily called from the forest, Taylor had an even more shocked look on his face. He soon regained his composure, though, and said, "Wow.. I thought there was only one way. Turns out I'm wrong." He chuckled slightly. "But yeah, I'm assuming most of us were taken by those good for nothing white coat scum and now we're all being hunted down again. Geez, I'm tired of being treated like a stinkin' lab rat. It's time for those guys to get a taste of their own medicine." Then Taylor suddenly got a slightly revengeful, almost evil look in his eyes.

Personality: Kenya, while wary of strangers, is kind and gentle by nature. She only uses violence when necessary, though she won't hesitate to use a barbed tongue. She is loyal to those few friends that she makes, and would stand by them through anything. She can be impulsive at times, and incredibly stubborn, but will releculantly back down if she sees the sense in doing so.

Other: her eyesight is a lot better than average, due to her hawk side, along with the fact she can breathe in air at highter altitudes than normal humans can.
Human Appearence: Kenya has shoulder-length, sandy colored hair that is slightly more brown than blonde. She has piercing brown eyes that can seem amber when hit with direct sunlight. She has a spray of freckles across her nose, and well tanned skin. She has a tall, slim build, emphasized by her 14-foot wingspan. The wings are a tawny color, only a shade seperating them from the color of her hair. The very bottom feathers on her wings are tinged with white.

"Was that meant to be a joke?" Rue asked teasingly. Get a taste of their own medicine. If Taylor hadn't had that certain look in his eyes, she would've guessed he actually was making a joke. A half smile accompanied the teasing words, and she nudged Taylor lightly with her elbow.

"So, you aren't natural halves?" asked Ilac, astonished. "Maybe I should tell the truth. I'm not from this planet." Ignoring their shocked expressions, he continued, "On my planet, cross-breeding between ANYTHING is possible, and...well, I was a product of, well, you might call it a love potion. A dove and my mom...well, they met at a love spring." He stopped, uncomfortable. "I got darted, same as you. But I managed, for the first time since leaving, to summon the power that everyone has on my world. I channeled it to wake me up. And my name--in the language of my home planet, Ilac means 'Healer'. So, well, I named myself accordingly." Half ghost, he thought. No wonder he still looked like a human.

Taylor shook his head, but a smile kept wanting to appear on his 'trying to be completely serious' face. "Nope, I actually mean it. When I get my hands on those guys... I'm gonna unarm 'em and then take 'em down for good." He gritted his teeth before hearing Ilac tell his story. "Nah, we ain't natural. Those stupid guys think nothing of us except science experiments. A different planet, though? Sounds kinda interesting..." He thought for a minute. "So... everyone on your planet is basically half? Well.. almost everyone I guess, but, still..." Taylor tried to fathom the pure number of halves on the Half Dove's planet.
