(Ooc: Windancer's post again on that side?)

Asphodel laughed then and thought to herself, 'He's certainly a cocky one. Determined to keep his pride and think that I don't have him in a compromising position. It's almost admirable.' Despite his attitude, he was amusing to her, and she had to give him props for trying to save face, even when he wasn't sure what she could do to him. She had no idea whether of not he was really telling her the truth or not, but one way or another she could promise that he wouldn't be returning to the Astral lands, especially if he were a spy. So she decided on a compromise.

"I'll make you a deal. I'll let you free from most of the binds, but two rings of shadow will encircle your forepaws, connected by a thin strand. So long as you don't cross me, they won't tighten and prevent movement. After all, you can't expect me to just up and trust you not to run off and tell Zhivel and Hispeth where I am, if you're lying."

As she said it, the shadows loosed around all except the afore mentioned limbs, leaving two dark, swirling cuffs connected by an almost invisible string of darkness. He'd be able to see her and move freely, unless he got ideas she didn't like of course. She'd been able to see him partially through the dark, but she hadn't really cared then to look too closely since she hadn't determined whether or not she'd let him live. Upon seeing him, she was a little intrigued by the lack of pigment anywhere on his body. But it wasn't so much a creepy look on her face as one of amusement.

"Not running," she said mildly, as though her actions had proven that beyond need for further argument. "Let's try this again. My name is Asphodel. Now, tell me about yourself." Her ears perked and she frowned. Jet should have howled by now to let her know he had the situation under control with the other wolves. "And walk with me, it seems I have additional business to attend to."

While Thor seemed content to ignore the scent of the wolf, natural curiousity sparked within the female. Ears pricked and nostrils flared, Matya bounded forward, her paws leaving deep prints in the damp, spongy ground. Her heart pounded faster, pumping blood to her muscles as her strides lenghtened, her fur rippling slightly from the small breeze she created by her passage through the marsh.

Matya rounded the rocky moutain in time to see his skid to a halt, loose pieces of gravel flying from the friction. He immediatly whirled around, and began dashing the other way. The canine continued running, increasing her speed further. She cut off his path, curiousity dancing in her amber eyes.

Jet's path was suddenly crossed by another wolf, and he growled suddenly by the pure surprise. He had expected one of them to chase after him, and that she did, but he hadn't expected them to cut him off entirely. He skidded to a stop along the rock and dirt. His snarl suddenly became a quiet growl emanating from his throat as he noticed the curiosity in the female's eyes.

"What do you want?" He asked gruffly, but carefully. He didn't want any fights, any trouble, and he certainly didn't want to be taken prisoner by an Astral wolf. His eyes held a silent question too. Who are you...? The clouds above suddenly began gathering. Slowly, but surely, they became gray. The rumbling started. Though there was no rain or lightning yet, but the rumbling continued. It stretched all the way to his pack's lands. To where Asphodel and their trespasser stood.

Jet wasn't controlling it with his own will, it happened to come because he felt genuinely threatened and full of faint fear. This female, though seeming curious and not really a threat, could have been purposely deceiving him. He could have been in serious danger.

It came as quite a relief when the ability to move returned. He felt rather cross with the fact that he had to endure two remaining rings around his legs but he reasoned with himself that he would have done the same were he in her place. Without them he could attack her and likely overpower her without her being able to do anything to stop him. Granted she did have this aura about her he could sense. She was a strong leader. Or would be. He wasn't sure if she was the leader of anything at the moment.
Deciding it was best to try to ignore the rings around his forepaws he knew would immobilize him if he made a wrong move, Hitze took a few slow steps toward the she-wolf. As he got closer to her he noticed that the smell of sulfur in his nose got stronger. 'Could she be the source of this smell?'

The look of amusement on her face was one he didn't quite understand. What about him was amusing? Nothing that he could imagine unless it had something to do with the potential binds she had put on him. "Okay, Asphodel, you want to know who i am? My name is Hitze." He approached her cautiously. He wasn't sure what to expect her to do with that amused look on her face. Now that he was closer to her and actually able to see her he noticed the different colors of her eyes. Idly, it occured to him how odd his eyes must be to her. It seemed she found it funny though.

The request for him to walk with her was unexpected. What was so important to her that she brought a potentially threatening Astral wolf around others when she wasn't even sure what his intentions for being here were? He opened his maw to say something but it was lost. "Don't treat me like i'm a slave." There was a bit of a growl hidden under his voice and his eyes stared back into hers while he spoke.
He was about to remind her again that she still had no idea what he could do and point out to her she didn't want to find out but decided against that. It was better to let her wonder on her own about that.

Apshodel had just turned to start walking toward the other group when his last statement caught her off guard. A slave? She turned her bi-colored eyes on him and frowned again, letting the crease deepen. Her tail had raised just slightly, but she was trying to calm herself and keep any other really dominant poses from showing. After all, despite making her angry, there was really no need for her to be like that.

"Hmm," she mused. There was that hint of anger in her voice again, but most prominently a dangerous tone of insult. "I was under the impression that when I asked you to come with me, it was merely a request - not an order. If you prefer to stay here, I can be just as accommodating, though I was certain you'd already made it clear you didn't like to be bound."

She looked the white male up and down again, wondering if she'd been right to take him out of the darkness. He'd seemed at least a little likeable, or at least like someone who would understand not to give her too much trouble if he wanted to continue his existence. Then he'd gone and done this. Perhaps she had underestimated his capacity for self-preservation and even for politeness.

A chilly wind brushed through her coat and the snow started to fall more heavily, landing on her nose, tail, and back. Yet another reminder that they were really rather late. Then the thunder came again.

"Hitze, I'm trying to be reasonable with you and give you a chance to prove that you're not a threat, since you've decided to sing that song. The facts stand like this: I don't trust you, I'd rather keep an eye on you at all times, I have no idea whether you're telling me the truth or not, and there is a wicked storm coming. Now, a friend of mine was supposed to be greeting others who entered the territory, but he has yet to report back. I'm going to go find out what happened. Whether or not you come is up to you, but if you don't, you'll be stuck in the same conditions you were a moment ago or worse. I don't want to do that though, because I'd really like to think I'm better than the Astrals about being kind and giving people chances. So, stay or don't stay, but make up your mind fast because that storm is only going to get worse and I'd like to find some cover before then. And if you stay, I won't be coming back until tomorrow."

She said it all so matter-of-factly and also sincerely, especially the part about giving people chances. The female took one more glance up at the darkening sky and watched the clouds swirl angrily before glancing back at him and the shadows that were mimicking the clouds and playing about his feet. If he said he was going to stay, they'd encase him again easily, though she really hoped it wouldn't come to that.

What Hitze had meant when he said to Asphodel not to treat him like a slave was she had him basically chained. Movement was free but a wrong move would render him immobile. Also, whether or not she had asked him to walk with her, he felt like it was a command more than a request. True, the Astral scent was still on him so naturally he was going to come off as untrustworthy and a threat to her when she was fleeing from the Astral. He felt like this was just a bit unnecessary. Without saying anything in response to her words he looked her in the eyes for a moment, then turned his up to the sky. What she said about the storm coming was true. It would not be smart to get caught out in it. So what did that mean for him? He was not worried about the cold weather. In fact this cold right now wasn't affecting him in the slightest. He could feel the wind blowing through his fur. But he wasn't even aware of the cold.

If Asphodel were to get close enough to him, she likely could feel the heat radiating off of his body. Clearing his throat he turned his attention back to the fae. "Well, if those are my only options then naturally i gotta go with you. But what do you expect me to do?" He tried to think word it as best he could so that he didn't come off wrong. The growl in his voice was gone. Instead he spoke in a slightly irritated voice. His doubt was a lot more evident in his tone now. He stood up and walked out of the cave, glad to be out of that jail, and walked around her so that he was in front of her facing her.

Watching her he noticed subtle things about the way she held herself up and the way her tail was down. Clearly she was not looking to get into any kind of conflict. He supposed that was a good thing. For now at least. She wasn't able to trust him and the case was the same on his end. Exactly who she was was still a mystery to him. He'd have to find that out later though. All he knew was she wasn't of the Astral pack and that was good enough for him at the moment.

Deciding to try and get rid of some of the tension between them he decided to ask the only question on his mind. "If we're alone here, what could have happened to your friend to cause you concern?"

Matya's amber eyes flitted upwards as the sky darkened, the sun blocked by the thick, dark clouds. No storm clouds had been overhead before, and she could make the connection between his apparent nervousness and their sudden appearance.

"I won't harm you," she said, her voice soft and low. She cocked her head, unable to keep amusement from flickering across her face. He didn't seem like much of a threat, and she sat down, ears flattening in distaste as the cold mud seeped into her dakr fur.

"I was only curious," she continued, then realized it was her same explanation as before. She gave a slight smile. "I'm Matya," she introduced.

Jet's ears went backward a bit, as he tried to decide whether or not this wolf was telling the truth. He finally decided to go with what she said. Sitting down carefully, he closed his eyes. Slowly but surely, as his breathing became deeper and his mind began to calm, the storm clouds began to dissipate.

His ears eventually perked back up to their relaxed state and he sighed in the same way. "Hello there, Matya," He ventured. "I'm Jet." He tilted his head, a sudden thought and question coming to mind. "Do you happen to be an Astral wolf?"

So that's what was making the male, Jet, so nervous. Matya mentally scolded herself for not seeing this in the future. A random wolf chasing you did seem suspicious, and you never knew who was who. "No, I'm not. I take it that you aren't either?" Her ear twitched randomly as a fly buzzed near it.

Matya gace him a small smile to let him know she didn't really consider that a likely, amber eyes glinting. She let the metal she had unconsiously gathered underneath her paws dissipate back into the earth, the fragmented minerals fading into the dark brown soil.

Jet was a bit surprised by her reply. He hadn't expected that answer at all. She wasn't an Astral? It seemed everyone these days was... it was a shock and good surprise she wasn't. Jet could tell it wasn't a lie, by the way she held her gaze and how she didn't make a move after speaking the words, so his mind suddenly conjured up an idea. Well, with only two of us we wouldn't stand a chance against Zhivel and Hispeth... but maybe with a third, it could change the tide a little.

He responded, "Well that's a relief..." he trailed off, thinking of what else he should say. When he got the words written down like a mental note, he continued. "No, I'm not either. I'm glad at the fact too." He paused to look up at the now clear as day sky. He walked a bit further off, so the others wouldn't hear him for sure. He made sure the female followed him to listen before he continued again. "Do you agree with what they're doing? The Astral Alphas?" His shining eyes turned to look at hers. He tried to hold her gaze in such a way it may have seemed unnatural. This question was vital. He had never known another wolf yet who hadn't been in the past or the present, or even wanted to be in the future, an Astral wolf. This could help turn the tide in the coming war. It all depended on her answer.

"No," Matya said, putting all of her passion and dislike for the Astral's into the one, short word. "I don't agree with tyrants," she elaborated, with as much feeling as before. Though his gaze made her feel slightly uneasy, she held it, a stubborn fire of determination burning in her unique amber eyes.

(Sorry for the cruddy post...my brain feels somewhat sluggish at the moment.)

Jet grinned such a wide smile out of pure joy at her response. "You don't, huh?" He couldn't contain the joy within himself. It was being shown in his voice. His eyes turned softer, and more like the ones you'd see on a puppy who was being let out to see a new experience and was wagging their tail happily. In fact, the black wolf was wagging his own tail ever so slightly. "Well, I have a little secret to let you in on."

He turned back to make sure the other wolves weren't anywhere near them. "There's an exclusive pack... led by our alpha, Asphodel. There's only a few of us now, but... eventually we plan to try and fight off the Astrals. We're sick and tried of their dictating ways destroying the life of us wolves. It's time they got a taste of their own medicine." He threw his head up in a proud manner, then turned back to her. "Or at least some of it," he breathed.

"Would you like to join?" He asked in a hushed tone. Then he remembered to warn her of a little thing first. "Of course, my alpha Asphodel will have to accept you first, but if you hate the Astrals as much as we do, I'd doubt that would turn into much of a problem."

OOC: I think after you post one more time we should wait for the others XD

OOC: Well... Jet and Asphodel were talking when an intruder (Hitze) came on their territory smelling something of sulfur. In an attempt to get him away from the territory, Jet ran off, but Asphodel saved him the effort by constricting Hitze in shadows. Then she instructed Jet to go check out what was happening with the wolves near the mud slide to see if things were fine or if they were in danger. Basically to take care of the situation. So Jet left. He was able to get downwind so the wolves wouldn't notice him there (Thor, Matya, and Norte) and hid watching them.
Meanwhile, Asphodel was questioning Hitze who still had an Astral scent and eventually she let go of all the shadows constricting him except the two on his front paws. That way he could move, but if he slipped up she could tighten them and he wouldn't be able to move freely anymore.
Jet, meanwhile, stepped out of the downwind and was noticed by the wolves. He ran towards home but realized that was foolish cause he'd be leading them to their territory, so he changed direction. Thor ignored him, while Matya was too curious to. When she cut him off, storm clouds began gathering because Jet was feeling threatened. The storm clouds reached the area where Asphodel and Hitze were and they left to see what was taking Jet so long.
Then Jet began talking with Matya and just figured out she isn't an astral and that she in fact hates the astral. Right now he's trying to get her to join the pack.

Hope that helps, LOL. XD

Matya had never had the means nor the strength to ever defy the Astral wolves. This could be her chance to, as Jet so eloquently put it, give them a taste of their own medicine."If Asphodel will accept me, I will become a part of your pack." Her grin, at first faint, soon grew stronger and more prominent upon her dark face.

A small burst of excitement shot through her. As if responding to her sudden burst of emotion, a thin sheet of metal once again gathered around her paws. Noticing it, she let it dissolve back into the earth once more. "Thank you, Jet," she said softly after a moment.
