I'm confused as to why General Iroh's voice is the same as Zuko's... At first I thought it would just be his voice for the end of the episode that introduce him (to show the relation between the two), but apparently not...

Actually Iroh is Zuko's SON, it says so in the Comics if you read it. Zuko named him Iroh to name him after his uncle.
Iroh is Zuko and Mei's Son. I wonder if they had other kids. O.o

I think they had a daughter as well. I read somewhere (about the comics, I believe) that he stepped down from being Fire Lord and gave the throne to his daughter.

It would make more sense for Iroh to be Zuko's grandson, all things considered... After all, Zuko is supposed to be around 86 years old. If his daughter is fire lord, then it would seem fitting that she already had a son, and that son (Iroh) has already become a general.

According to KF, Mike and Bryan have confirmed that Iroh is Zuko's grandson, not son.
On another note, though, I can not even begin to put into words the spazzing and the "feels" that I felt during that last episode. Everything...just...GAH! :'D So excited for the finale!

Nobody posted about the finale? Come on now, was I the only one raging at Mako? Quite honestly, I have watched every episode of this first season and I think it's enough for me to make judgement on which I believe is better, and the original remains in its place. Also, what in the world with the ending?

I knew Amon was related to Tarlokk somehow, I just couldn't quite figure it out, I also figured out that somehow he was using bloodbending to take bending away. But with Amon presumed dead (I'm not sure about that considering they're both water benders and really strong ones at that) who would be the villain? Also, Korra has every single element under her belt now, what's next? These writers are going to have to come up with something creative. And I've made up my mind, Chief Beifong is my favorite character.

Alright, I guess I should post my thoughts now too...
Overall, I absolutely love this show. It is nothing like the original, but I think that is what makes it so specail. You can tell the creators put a lot of thought into this future world instead of taking the easy way and just making everything basically the same as ATLA. I also like how the animation is the same. They didn't change to some crappy animation or out of the anime-looking style. It really ties the two shows together, I think.
As for the characters... I am absolutely in love with every last one of them. Korra is definately an interesting character who is basically the opposite of Aang and yet similar to him in different ways. I normally don't really like the physically strong and masculine female lead character, but what I love about Korra is that is not entirely who she is. And I totally ship Makorra. Even before the show came out, I loved these two, mostly because of the Zutarra disappointment, but anyways... Mako is kind of a jerk sometimes, but I think he and Korra just work together. Besides, I see Korra and Bolin more as siblings than lovers. But I do just love Bolin! He is cute and adorable and funny and one of the best characters on the show. I'm kind of rooting for him and Asami... kind of... Now that I know that Asami has Yue's voice, I get freaked out everytime she says something. Speaking of repeat voices, why did they have to bring back Zuko? I mean, don't get me wrong, Zuko was one of my favorite characters, but I hated his voice at times. For the most part, the voice works, but sometimes that almost momotone, no emotion voice gets to me and it ruins the scene. Still, I'm gonna give this Iroh a chance, though his voice is freaking me out as much as Asami's. Good idea, but it's just not working for me.
Okay, I could go on for days about how much I love Tenzin, his children, Cheif Beifong, Amon, and the lot, but I'll let it go for now.
As for the finale, I do think it seemed a little rushed. But that would make sense if it was only supposed to be a mini-series, so thank for explaining that Imagine.
Anyways, I have really high hopes for season two. It seems like all the loose ends have been tied up, so I am super excited to see what these writers come up with next. They haven't disappointed me yet, so I really don't have any fears.

People talking about the finale? Okay, time to join in! Alright, to be honest, I was largely disappointed with it.

I knew that there had to be some sort of connection between Amon and Tarlok! Okay, so they weren't one in the same as I first thought but siblings count right? Kinda...sorta...anyways. And using blood bending to remove bending? That's intense, and terribly ironic! I wish the writers went into more detail as to HOW they were able to blood bend without the full moon (saying that they're simply what's-his-names son does not count!) After all, they explained Toph's "metal bending", which also should have been impossible.
On to the "final showdown" and its aftermath. Sorry, suddenly being able to air bend after Korra having her other abilities stripped? Seriously? They hardly dedicated two episodes to her training, so I find the "sudden connection" a bit too cliche and unrealistic. Emotional breakdown = avatar state: okay, I can accept that, but suddenly being able to control it AND use that state to restore bending? Rushed and sloppy, in my opinion. The writers could have ended it with her entering the avatar state for the first season (when they realized that they'd be making a second one) and picked up with her learning how to control the avatar state in the second season/restore everyone's bending. To me, this makes so much more sense and is so much less jarring than with how they chose to end it. As Black Rose already said, the writers have got to be extremely creative now; the slate's blank enough that they could start another sequel with a new avatar since they've already "tied up loose ends". And about that Makorra ship...sorry, still don't approve. True, Korra and Bolin are more like siblings, but does every main character absolutely have to be paired up with someone? And seriously, I know that Korra's series was directed more towards older audiences, but does this seriously make his choices okay? Call me old-fashioned, but in my opinion, pick one and stick with her. If it doesn't work out, break it off or take a break, but DON'T go having affairs! (I'm pretty sure the universe will survive with Mako not "shipping" with anyone until he gets his head straight again) ...Sorry if that all sounded like a rant.

Honestly, I predicted even before the finale that Aang would give Korra her bending back. From the season finale commercials (before it came out), it was obvious she would probably lose her bending, and I totally guessed that Aang would be able to contact her from the spirit world and give her her bending back. <3 No one will ever believe me except my friend who was there with me while we watched the episode, but yeah. And MAKORRA<3 They're so adorable, I JUST CAN'T. I have a feeling Bolin and Asami will be together eventually also, haha. Or at least be good friends. C: I was NOT expecting Tarlok and Amon to be siblings though. That just threw EVERYTHING out the window for me. I had to pause it and everything to give me a full minute of "WHAAA?!" LOL. After the finale I think I ran around the house like a thousand times screaming "ZOMG YAY I KNEEEEEW IIIT. WELL PART OF IIIIT! THAT FINALE WAS EXCELLEEEENT!" Haha. xD

I mean, just the fact that there are THOUSANDS of voice actors out there and instead they bring an extremely well-known voice back to the show portraying the voice as a different character. Not cool. ---- Anyway, my thoughts on the show. I never even knew this topic here existed lol. Of course, I love TLoK. <3 The same way I love ATLA. I do miss the old-fashioned environment like the ATLA series has, but the story and characters make up for it. And I absolutely love Naga. xD I would have never pictured a polar bear dog before haha.. It's very creative! Pabu being a fire ferret looks really interesting too. c: Korra has such an awesome personality and character as well, which makes her my favorite. xD (Naga being my favorite as well.) As for "ships", I really don't care who stays with who. XD I like Asami and if she wants to be with Mako then try for it. Mako or Bolin for Korra.. either would be nice to see. I just don't /care/ haha. I must say though that the part with the boat at the end of the series really surprised me, and I'm looking to see what comes of it. (Just like how I'm still waiting to find out what happened to Zuko's mom! >:U )
